You cannot build a functioning Mage deck that runs mostly Frost spells, making this essentially a worse version of Arcanologist most of the time. Mage doesn't need draw that much and Frost Mage doesn't exist.
At best you run this in Hero Power Mage as an additional tutor so maybe you can run other spells alongside Wildfire, but that deck is bottom tier garbage and this certainly doesn't help.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
The worst dungeoneer revealed. Mage doesn't need that card.
By The Holy Light!
Probably not good enough for a Freeze Mage revival in Wild, yet once the other two mage cards are known, I'm heading into deckbuilding again. If these other two cards are also Frost oriented, and I wouldn't be surprised if they are, it might just work out.

Hmmm... The spell pool for it currently seems pretty bad... and incentificing freeze mage decks isn't that great either. Still if it DOES get the effect off it seems pretty powerfull! Don't underestimate it's effect, getting a 3 mana 4/5 worth of stats + 1 card drawn is very good. Also Mage did get freeze support with cards like Rimetongue. Frostweave Dungeoneer will be a pretty bad card for now (Which might see play/experimentation in maybe hero power mage just for card draw?) HOWEVER seeing how much their pushing freeze mage i'm pretty sure that freeze mage is going to get a lot more support in future expansions.
Just checked the Wild pool, and yeh it's not going to see play. APM and Secret mage don't want it. The frost spell pool is actually pretty limited... Still don't forget about Frostweave Dungeoneer, once it gets a little bit more support it most likely become a very solid card. (in an archetype that might be really annoying to play against...)
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Great support for freeze mage.
It draws spells, and in dedicated decks that might as well be just drawing the highest win rate card in your deck like Wildfire.
Starscryer does the same but one turn earlier, but no one says you can't just play both. If it does hit a frost spell, you get a bonus - and a really decently good bonus it is.
This is the same situation as the shaman card. I just don't see this being a supported deck type right now. Hopefully there are more cards to support it.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Draw is always good. Sadly mage doesn't want minions right now. Wildfire mage being the exception. Still good but probably not hitting the bonus in that deck.
Mage has a lot of spell types. To focus on frost when so much got removed in the Core change is strange. Eventually there may be a dedicated frost deck but not yet.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
Well .... right now i guess this one is not good enough to find it`s way into the Meta. But if we will get more Frost Mage Support this could turn out pretty good.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
I highly doubt this card will see play immediately. There's no real archetype for freeze mage anymore and this card would be too inconsistent to add to other existing mage archetypes. It's a fair card, but due to the small pool of frost spells atm, it won't see much play.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Mage has a couple of spells with the frost type, but their biggest problem is that, unlike a lot of other classes, their staple spells in the format are spread across multiple schools. I don't think that this payoff is worth limiting yourself from running most of your strongest cards, because it is exceptionally weak if it draws a non-frost spell. In a hypothetical frost mage deck, the problem still arises that this is a semi-strong midrange card in a deck where most of your spells are freeze and stall cards. Maybe if you only run Deep Freeze as a finisher in a Spiteful Summoner deck, but I think you'd rather have access to Grand Finale and Power of Creation.
This post is discussing the wild format.
The worst of the 3 Dungeoneers we've seen so far. Mage has too many good non-Frost spells, plus those summoned elementals die too easy. Also, will we see a Mage deck that actually runs minions any time soon?

Mage has plenty of draw already, and the effect is pretty bad.
Maybe if Freeze Mage becomes a thing. For now, nah.
I don't understand the possible future direction of frost mage this and Rimetongue are trying to hint at. Summon a bunch of elemental tokens that freeze? Even if some win condition is introduced, the game plan to go wide seems a bit odd for mage.
You need to stack your deck with Frost spells, but it may be worth it
Not enough interesting Frost spells to make this viable. You want to put this in a deck with nearly only Frost spells, and that's a deck that just won't cut it in Standard.
Idk, I don't think it's good enough?
I felt like I was missing a win condition after stuffing in all the Frost related cards in a deck. Maybe just adding the Mordresh Package is enough and the clowns are better swapped out for early game. I thought Mordresh might fit as all the freezes will stall for long enough to deal 10 damage with pings and to get to 10 mana. Anyway, don't think this is any good.
The Wild deck got some extra draw in the form of this new dungeoneer. Don't think it'll change much. Still too slow.
