Fully focus on Emperor Thaurissan and ignore everything else on his side of the board. I don't know exactly what caused it, but something set off a bomb that triggered other bombs and blew up the entire board including all my mercs, but because I still had a merc on the bench I won. So try to bring him down by enough such that a chain reaction of bombs will kill him.

Agreed, I've done Thaurissan run twice and targeting him seems to be working for my comp. He occasionally targets your highest Health Merc and its neighbors with a 25 dmg attack (it was him right? I'm not mixing him with another boss?) which can easily cause the two bombs on your side to explode and trigger the chain reaction described above (especially when paired with his abomination taunt thing).
how to hit the emperor ? just with magic (there is the taunt minion to protect him)? tks
Was very easy using the standard shadow comp (Natalie + Vol'jin + Tamsin). They don't attack you too hard and you can heal with Natalie. Switch to Benediction turn 1 and keep healing with first spell. Just ramp and kill the Emperor with single target spells. It takes 4-5 turns to kill him. After that everything dies but you should have other mercs on the bench.
