Tess Greymane nerfed again?

Thread update - I have probably missed some cards, when Tess was played, so she still works as normal. Sorry for making this thread.

Hi all.

So I was casually playing my thief priest deck in wild, until I faced an opponent running a wild version of the Bazaar Burglary rogue. Fast forward to the moment, when they played Tess Greymane - she cast Naturalize on herself and ended the battlecry instantly. Now, it might be just a Mandela effect. I admit, that I didn't pay too much attention to the game, because I was only trying to have fun. But when Tess Greymane was played and the aforementioned thing happened, I became kinda suspecious. I am almost 100% certain, that my opponent played a bunch of cards from another class before Tess and those didn't appear after she died.

Does someone have this legendary, in order to see whether Tess Greymane works as normal?

  • As of patch 11.2, Tess's battlecry is limited to 30 cards and will stop if she is silenced, killed, transformed, or leaves the battlefield.
  • Quickly after patch 11.2, this change was reversed, Tess now once more continues her battlecry even after she is silenced, killed, transformed, or leaves the battlefield.

  • The only patch mentioning Tess Greymane (after 11.2) is Patch 12.0:

    • Resolved effects and animation issues with Valeera the Hollow, Tess Greymane, and Shudderwock.

I remember when 11.2 was announced as well as the change to Tess in relation to Yogg-Soron. I personally don't remember the announcement on the reverting but this PCgamer article has it covered

    • Yeah, but I wondered if Tess was secretely nerfed. When I faced that thief rogue, the legendary only summoned one minion before killing herself and ending the battlecry. The opponent played other cards before that, I'm almost sure of it. I remember seeing Explosive Trap, Dragon Soul, Princess Talanji and there were at least 1 or 2 other things beside Naturalize. And it's not like the game lasted shortly, I played N'zoth twice long after turn 10.

That's why I would like to wait for someone, who has Tess Greymane in their collection and sees whether she still works as normal.

  • I have played a lot of Tess and can confirm the change was reverted, it has been a while since I have had her kill herself so unless they reverted it back again since the last time you must have encountered a bug

  • I got her killed multiple times today and the effect went on

Hmm. In that case, I guess my "observations" were false. I should have paid more attention to the moment, when Tess Greymane was played. I might have missed the rogue player reequiping Dragon Soul and putting Explosive Trap into play.

Thanks for the comment, I will edit the original post.
