How many actual Game Designers visit this forum?

I'm very curious about this, especially because if nothing goes wrong, I will probably graduate in college as a Video Game Designer/Developer next year. Considering people is here mostly to talk a lot about games (especially Hearthstone, of course... :P), their mechanics, the balance, etc., I was wondering how many of you visit this forum and dedicate your life to this wonderful career??? :D :D :D

I'm actually trying to create a videogame, but while I'm a coder I didn't studied as a game designer, I only used to write gamemodes and lore for a minecraft community :P

I'm a game designer! I've halfway through my Master's in Game Design and I'm launching a Kickstarter for a social deception card game (hopefully) within the next few months. :D

I'm a game designer at a fairly large company that does mainly mobile games.

Im also a game designer, currently working mobile games company.

I went to college for game design. Ended up working as a technical artist in the industry for 7 years. Got out of the industry because I have a family and I wasn't willing to pull the insane hours. Work in IT now and I am much happier. I really miss the industry though at times. Working on games was so much fun. I did a lot of scripting, modeling, texturing, level design, layout etc.

Well, just to let you know, there are places that don't have the insane hours. Been with the same company for about 8 years now and never worked a day of overtime.

I am currently studying SE to be one someday currently struggling to make checkers in Java though

Yeah I might get back into the game... (haha) but my wife and I moved to an area where there isn't much game industry to be closer to my family when we had kids. Now are kids are pretty set in their schools so we won't be going anywhere anytime soon. If there happens to be a game company that pops up near where we live then I wouldn't mind working in the industry again though. I would have to practice up on my modeling and texturing I am pretty rusty after having not done it in about 5 years.

Is the artificial intelligence the one giving you trouble? Well, if that is the case, don't worry, it's not that easy, hehe. ;)
