  • Switcheroo Priest is the most miserable deck I've ever played against.

    Thats a big lol

Can you elaborate why it's lol? Have you played against the deck? Do you have the opinion that getting two 20/20 Charge minions on turn 3 quite consistentely is a sign for a healthy game state?

Do you like games where winning or losing doesn't depend on what you do but only if the oppponent gets the right cards?

    you're kidding me? :D

that warlock deck outrages them all haha

I'm marking this as resolved. I've tested the importer with my most recent HSR data and it is working.

  • Mech Mage in Voyage to the Sunken City - Celebrate Wild Week With Our Full Deck & Guide

Yeah mainly it's because he doesn't synergize with Mecha-Shark or any of the 6 mech cost reduction effects. He's still objectively good but going mostly pure mech has been better since you still get 3 damage from each mech with the sharks pretty often and can play the mechs for cheaper.

  • Switcheroo Priest is the most miserable deck I've ever played against.

It is what it is. Those classes can build decks around the technical techs into Switcheroo Priest, even if they are otherwise subpar into other decks nor are their strongest decks, but if the Switcheroo Priest is so dominant, then those specific counters can shine and see regular play to some extent.

  • Which cards are most overtuned in VtSC and why is it mech mage?

I'm playing mech mage because that's the deck I got the pieces for in my 50 packs. I could see the shark getting a nerf but think the issue is the synergy, small pool for discover, and the cost reduction. It's one of those decks that's immediately strong and there isn't one standout problem card. I'm definitely seeing mech mage more than any other decks. Not seeing it as a big problem to start, though. It's just easy, efficient, and relatively cheap to craft/build.

Wow, I remember when Mech Mage was top tier many years ago, with Goblin Blastmage as a premium card! He doesn't even make the cut now, which I guess shows how much powercreep there is.

Great deck and guide as usual, Swiz!!!

Yes, the deck is reliant on the game being nice to you, but at least there are viable counters to the strategy. If my proposed ones would emerge, then Priest would need to run anti-Secret minions, and that diludes their Switcheroo pool.

Most of your proposed counters are only viable in a sense that it technically counters it.

    • The Warlock Ritual of Doom targetting Deathlord is a two-card combo for an effect that's already available for a single card which is Hecklebot. Sure it's three mana, but you need those two specific cards at turn three to counter it.
    • Ice Block doesn't counter the combo, you merely extend your life in which then you then need to answer the 20/20 or kill the opponent. And the other secrets are just trash in other matchups.
    • Same goes for the paladin and Rogue cards. Maybe except for Oh My Yogg! and Evasion. But then again, you can play around Oh My Yogg! and Evasion has the same problem as Ice Block.

Also, not every deck just wants to run the cards that you proposed, especially if they're only good against Switcheroo Priest. At least Golakka Crawler and Living Dragonbreath have vanilla stats to make up for their specific effect.

Plus they're all class specific counters, so I guess the other classes can go fuck themselves then.

Oh, and Hecklebot is a death sentence against Kael'thas druid, which is pretty much Switcheroo Priest's older brother.

  • Switcheroo Priest is the most miserable deck I've ever played against.

Hecklebot, Blademaster Okani and pray for bad draw.

It fixes the issue with the Twin-fin variant, but it nowhere does the same justice to Boar variant. Divine Spirit and Inner Fire still exist, and 20HP x 2 = 40, so no.

The Boar version can already do that if it wants. At least that would require more combo pieces and mana, which will either drag down win rates by itself or allow a bit more time for some tech cards to be played.

  • The Best Regions In LOR

This is going to be fairly based on personal oppinion, in terms of decks I find sucess with and what other people are playing.

    1. Shurima - It's not so much that sundisc is good finally, it might be quicksand, it might be the landmark value pkg, it might not be any one thing but the overall value versatility.

    Playable decks:

    - Akshan whatever

    - Thaliyah whatever

    - Mono Shurima

    - Irelia

    - Ekko if you're a meme lord

    - Renekton if you're the same

    2. Demacia - It's very hard to beat 2 mana kill anything you want, even with the nerfs to the likes of sharpsight, and the 3 mana elite. That just means you have supplement with additional tools from other regions. Routinely has 56% winrate decks in the meta.

    Playable decks:

    - Targon Buffs

    - Scouts

    - Galio HP

    - Lux if you're a meme lord

    - Elites if you're the same

    3. Targon - The undisputed king of long game, tempo, Combo play style. Invoke has never been nerfed, their burst spells haven't really been touched, strong Pantheon followers, sunlight blade is amazing right now. Only problem is their deck count is low.

    - pantheon buff pkg

    - invoke not a meme but also not great

    4. Bandle City - Took a hard hit to its value identity last patch, but possible the best aggro region in the game full stop even after gutting Poppy just turns out that it doesn't matter. I only rank it low because every bandle deck is a bandle deck and makes me zzzzzzzz.

    - YIA (aka aggro stuff)

    - Multi region Champs are just good outside bandle and feature prominently everywhere

    - Cycle value if youre a meme lord

    5. Noxious - Only really does two things right now different flavors of aggro overwhelm vs discard etc. And being a flock/hard removal solution. For that reason it ranks lowly.

    - ezreal catlyn

    - discard aggro

    - overwhelm

6 . Bilgewater - Essentially just a midrange good stuff region with the likes of Lurk and Scouts but in a game filled with midrange good stuff. I would need to see kegs, TF, plunder, ans deep see a resurgence to start ranking this region higher again.

    - Lurk

    - scouts

    - midrange plunder I'd you're a meme lord

    - deep if you're the same

    7. Shadow - Possible the worst region in the game right now besides Ionia. Spiders is highest winrate deck and continually their control identity is being supersceeded by other region choices.

    Deck option:

    - spiders

    - darkness

    - ephemerals if you're a meme lord

    - burn if you're the same

    8. Ionia - This region is problematic where the better it is like with Ezreal or Karma decks the more people want to commit sempuku. That being said it kinda sucks at aggro, and control, and even combo right now.

    Playable decks:

    - Ahiri (there are way better aggro decks)

    - karma if you're a meme lord

    - yassao if you're a meme lord

    - Lee Sin if you're a meme lord

    9. Freijord , their midrange identity is kinda dead, and their tribal stuff is subpar, so all that's left is ramp. It does ramp things and that's about it. So for that reason they are at the bottom of the pile

    - ramp

Over 9000 P&Z - essentially doing it all right now from a combo/aggro/control perspective but it's not a region I particularly enjoy right now but I acknowledge the power.

    - Viktor everything

    - ezreal being ezreal

    - buuuuuuurn

So as you can tell from the rankings certain things feel very strong right now, other things feel exceptionally weak to the point of being a total joke like deep. Hopefully the champ reworks at the end of April shake things up a bit.

I know I've gotten bored of my Targon, Demacia deck just for winning way too much and having a relatively straight forward powerful playstyle.

    Switcheroo

Easy nerf -> 3 mana: Draw 2 minions. Swap their mana costs.

Just kill this kind of broken decks. The card would still be playable.

That's not a nerf. That's an entirely new effect. An effect that allows you to play a turn 3 Kazakusan.

Yes, that's more preferable. But I feel like that's a lot more design limiting.

Hello I'm trying to make a mill deck. https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decks/36935-mill-druid I think with the new cards we can make a good mill deck. It would be great if you want to help me with a new mill deck.

If Mechs are back in the meta, I was wondering if there is a Theorycraft for a Dr Boom control warrior deck? I love just blowing things up!

It could only switch health. That way Priest can do Blessing things.

  • Switcheroo Priest is the most miserable deck I've ever played against.

Switcheroo could also switch mana costs but that feels like a different nightmare waiting to happen.

Btw what happens in Standard mirror? They exchange Twin-Fins and then wait who concedes or fatigues first?

Even if counters exist: it's still a coinflip and nothing a player does matters in any way. They have the combo or they don't. You have the possible counter or you don't - next game. Rock-Paper-Scissors has more interactity and can be played for free.

Archmage Arugal, great inclusion! Last time that card saw any play was with Water Mage I believe.

  • How's everyone's Voyage going?

Well , i bought the Pre-Bundle (Big one) and bought like 100 packs with gold. The few cards i was missing i crafted to complete the Voyage collection. So i personaly can't complain because i drew a lot of legendarys out of my packs.

So far im realy enjoying the Voyage and meet lots of different decks. But i guess this is true for most day 1/2 experiences with new expansions. Sureley i see more mech mage than other stuff but still managed to find lots of different decks so far.

Also love that Reno is back, been messing around with reno decks and they sureley are fun and also not that bad to play on ladder.
