Pedant mode activated: wasn't legendary duplicate protection introduced with the Frozen Throne (2017)? Under the old rules you could still open the same legendary multiple times before owning all of them if you dusted it, but you'd just hold onto them 'til you had finished opening packs for that expansion to avoid that issue.
The extension of the duplicate protection to lower rarities was very welcome though, I can't deny that.
You're right, I was about about to post exactly that. Duplicate legendary protection was one of the last 'perks' of Ben Brode. Still a Ben, nonetheless xD
Once again I will add my seemingly controversial opinion: Mini-Sets are adding too much synergy in standard.
Aggro doesn't run out of fuel before killing you three times over. Control doesn't run out of removal until they're at the bottom of their deck. Questlines are being completed by turn 5. Druid... ramps to Kazakusan on turn 3.
good god. i'm 145, i expect to be 175-195 by next expansion. i'm f2p, usually hit legend standard and mostly play for dailies. i'll play bgs when i hit legend and get bored. i cant imagine the dedication to hit 400. congrats!
*Shrug* I haven't played much HS in the last two years, but this sounds pretty much like ladder HS has always been.
A high percentage of the time, the match is already decided by the matchup (first) and mulligan (second). Everything else in the entire match is a very distant third, in terms of affecting the outcome.
will rotation fix that much, though? most of the "broken" (ie: playable) cards are from last year's expansions and would stay in.
to the above comment, agreed that we'll probably see even more bonkers cards this year, but it is hard to imagine.
i know blizzard likes to do increasing brokenness throughout the year, but it feels a little like we're going to re-play a couple years ago where cards got so out of hand they printed 3 "meh" expansions that saw little play until the previous year rotated out.
it'll be interesting to see what happens. i agree that more frequent balance updates would be fun and interesting. i'm in favor of anything that shuffles things up, and especially if they keep shuffling so things don't get stale. midrange paladin feels as stale and boring (and long in the tooth) as old highlander hunter, which was meta forever
Yes, pretty much so. I've talked about it at length in our most recent meta/decks update, as we went back to more polarization and coin flip matchups on ladder. Haven't had a chance to play much after the changes to Kazakusan and SI:7 Smuggler, although I don't expect those to really change the field much. Will be very surprised if they are not doing any further balance changes by mid-March (Wildheart Guff somehow still being 5 mana, for one), unless they really decide to say "screw it, we are holding the fort as is until the rotation".
I feel like that's the kind of thing I would've tried had I seen it, but when there's like 60k cards and I have no idea how to reduce the search space, well... Anyway, found it. Thanks.
I have been playing Wild for some time now, so I wont miss anything. I do look forward to seeing what Blizzard creates to replace some of the functionality of the rotating cards.
I was thinking of a more especific name for the disease and I almost ask for another clue, but kept looking at non-frost related expansions and the name of the expansion had one adjective you used in your clue.
I was lost too, but thanks to you mentioning the expansion, I looked through its cards, and the hints suddenly all came together. Thanks both corvo720 and NebuchadnezzarHS, here´s a snowball your way! :)

I'm gonna miss Darkmoon, definitely one of my favorite sets of all time, Corrupt is still probably my favorite keyword, I remember being bummed out by multiple buffs because they'd ruin Corrupt synergies. (RIP Clown Warrior and Mage😔)
It's so funny reading the Kazakusan section with all the LOCUUUUSTS!!! mentions 🤣like you can't really be serious about it, especially when you read the card name as is, with the scream 😅
Think of very old people, some of them become very forgetful. What is the name of this 'disease'? Add the Winter theme to it and you should be able to find the answer. If not, I will try again and present you the answer by replacing the actual words using synonyms 😋

Hint #2
What is the job name for people who work at weather stations? They also predict weather forecasts.
Trust me, I'm also sorry for that. It wasn't an easy job leave it aside. But keeping up to date and have competitive decks for standard is such an impossible mission for casual players I think :(
I think that my place is going to be wild and mercenaries whenever I'm back. I'm still having a wonderful pool of cards for that mode so it's safet o say that I'll be back anytime.

Hearthstone Grandmasters 2022 Season 1 Continues With Week 2 - Here's What You Need to Know
Apparently in the attached document that Blizzard linked alongside the blog post, it mentioned that it's two packs per week.
Someone on Reddit said they tried today and got two packs, so instead of two packs total for Weeks 1-3, it might actually be two per week..
EDIT: I tried it earlier today and got a pack just now.

new mercenaries stats
i frequently check some mercenaries that i have not maxed out yet. usually to determine priority for spells maxing out/equipment.
problem is the newer mercenaries have some kind of issue with numbers on their respective pages
if i open Samuro´s pages i will see that his ability will give him 1 to 5 attack based on rank
if i open balinda stoneheart´s page i will see that frost dart does {0} damage on all ranks and gives the target {1} frost weakness
i have not checked all mercenaries but i believe that the original mercenaries might be all okay, but check the new ones.
there is probably just small typo in the formatting for text
