So it's a big stat bomb, and removal in one? That seems so good. However i don't think she sees play UNTILL rotation, post rotation i have a feeling like were going to be have a very solid chance of seeing Raid Boss Onyxia in play. This is because some of the most powerful sets in HS are rotating, and most meta decks are either completely dissapearing (Libram Paladin) or most classes will lose key cards that they relied on for a long time (Rogue with Secret Passage, Swindle & etc. And Most OTKs will also lose a LOT of key cards) these changes might genuinely give control a chance to be viable after rotation, which will mean that Raid Boss Onyxia will have her chance. But untill then, i bet Ramp druid will use her with good succes untill rotation. Because that deck definately needs some more removal and Raid Boss Onyxia can give them some hard removal AND smaller minion removal in 1 card. And even if you have a empty board, playing Raid Boss Onyxia can setup a strong board.... as long as your not playing into Snowfall Guardian.

Edit: Raid Boss Onyxia can only take damage AFTER all the whelps are dead, which means that IF you play this on a empty board, then your opponent will need to kill the whelps first, and only THEN can they deal with onyxia. That's REALLY sticky.

I really love this mini set so far, it really gives me "older HS" vibes. This mini set has some strong cards, but not oppresively strong. I really hope they continue this trend into the next HS year!  

Cool concept, first card that has/gives passive immunity since Mal'ganis from 2014.

Been thinking long and hard of the nostalgic feeling this miniset evokes. Felt so familiar. Then I realised: oh yeah, this smells exactly like TGT and Rastakhan. And gonna have about as much impact. This card would have been killer maybe two years ago. Not in the game we have today.

I mean...it's a great upgrade on the other Onyxia's, but I feel like it's way too slow to achieve anything else. Maybe Druid can as a big lategame swing, they're good at those. I very much doubt it's relevant for anything else unless Priest suddenly manages to go extra lategame value again.

I think you have a miss count on the cards remaining... all 35 have been revealed? (3 for each class + 5 neurals)

This expansion is very 'meta' when it comes to naming cards, really love the flavor.

This means we've now seen 30 cards in total of the 35.

Are you sure about that one? Because I count 10x3 class cards + 5 neutrals so far.

Funny thing that, I was wondering what they were gonna call her seeing how regular Onyxia and Broodmother are already taken. Raid Boss was the first thing that popped into my mind, but I assumed they surely weren't going for something that obvious. Guess I was wrong

It's pretty cool bc they essentially do the exact same thing on a smaller scale, and although I doubt some of these will be too viable for the time being, thematically, they're amazing.

126 now with Tavern pass. Slower than I would have liked but a lot of games I play all updating soonish has me pulled in many directions. The mini set should correct that a bit though! Onyxia's Layer was not my first raid oddly. The guild I was in was more advanced but had attendance issues so I got to tag along. Simple single dragon encounter but felt epic and I got loot from it mostly because I didn't pull any whelps on my first try!  Still a great memory with many friends and not many whelps! :D

Not a good deck crafter, but it doesn't seem to me like "strictly worse Flamewaker" is exactly a compelling idea...

Flamewaker on steroids! Surely, nothing can go wrong with that... 😅😅
