40 dust, as usual! Well, at least it's useful for crafting. I've played a bit of Warrior recently using all the Ragnaros-Heralding cards even though I don't have Ragnaros. It's a pretty strong deck even without, but I'm thinking of crafting him. What do others think?
Just a heads-up for anyone thinking of sailing the high seas, devs have responded to this and said they'd hardware-ban anyone who plays the game before release.
The bigger feat will be if the game is still going by then lol. With Blizzcon finally making a comeback I am curious what the plans are across the board. I still think they should've just made their own version of Helldivers but Starcraft style where you are marines / firebats etc fighting off zerg and protoss invasions. Imagine being on Char and watching all those zerglings pop out.
I never got around to The Last of Us so finally gave it a go. Interesting gameplay and obviously excellent story. Though, it does seem strange to be in zombie-fungus apocalypse and like everyone is dead yet there are still dozens of hunters trying to kill us. Like I get it for gameplay’s sake but really, once you see me take out half your entire population, you’d think some would say “I’m not paid enough for this” and just run away…
Heartroot Stones - Bit expensive considering what youre doing. And druid rarely have problems drawing cards to begin with. The best you'll get out of this card is via discover effects.
Tranquil Clearing - Its not terrible because it means you can play just about any minion and guarantee a taunt so at least your face is not naked. Will it warp druid's gamestyle? Probably not.
Lifebloom - Amped up cenarion ward. Potentially the most dangerous card here because in a meta like this its not only backbreaking to your opponent, it heals you for 8, which nowadays can easily decide games. Fact that theres so many ways you can discover this card, theres just no way this card doesnt see some play.
Ashworm - Its really not that good but I can definitely see something here. Filling the board isnt easy obviously but timed well enough with ravenous flock you can just present a board your opponent cant counter. Will it make quest good, no. But its interesting at least as a build around.
Druid cards seem like random fan creations honestly compared to the other new class cards. But at least some of it will see play, as opposed to being completely redundant because the synergies doesnt fit the meta.
Convalescence - If this card was printed in the previous cycle I wouldve dismissed it as crap, not even worth commenting. Fortunately unfortunately for us, the current meta is so bereft of efficient removal options, particularly AoE, that a card like this on curve can just decide games then and there. Just think about how token druid and aggro paladin play and you can immediately see why this card might be OP.
Brash Battlemaster - It has rush which is so rare nowadays that as an option it'll certainly be considered nevermind in a dedicated pally deck. Not as good as convalescence or resilient savior though.
Resilient Savior - If you coin this out on 2, you immediately improve your odds against dhunter by at least 10%, and is presently the only reason why I think this archetype would work at all.
Not gonna lie, pally is looking better and better. Might actually force a change in the meta entirely because of it. The only class that can beat this efficiently would probably be dhunter and warrior, and even then its not a certainty.
Not gonna lie, the animal companion build-around looks really fun. I think Dapper is probably right that it will get stomped by the current meta, but I'll give it a shot anyway. Just think of the shenanigans when you get Wild Gods or Collosals!
Even as more support cards are printed for the animal companions buff, I just cant see how it'll work out. Its trying to play for value in a meta thats completely warped around tempo and sustain, and these cards do neither of those things.
If by some miracle you can ramp the companions to 7 mana beasts there are a few choice ones with taunt which can buy you enough time to outvalue the opponent, but think about how rogue is currently playing and you'll immediately see the problem here. You will die to about 4 out of 6 meta decks in the tiers 1-2 its not even funny.
We knew this change was coming, and yes the economy of each individual class bundle is horrible because its literally half the price of a bundle of 4. Of course most serious players would probably just buy the whole thing anyway, part with an extra 5 bucks compared to the mini-sets, which is probably the real reason for the change in the first place. Just good ol blizz wringing every last penny off their players.
As for the cards:
Bashana Runetotem - Even at this low power level meta, playing this card on curve is just asking to be fucked, and if youre heading towards end game stuff you probably do better just to play merithra instead. In other words, Im fairly certain this card is trash until something that abuses battlecries get printed.
Wizened Wildspeaker - The good thing is that druid needs to actually reach 5 mana to play this even if its a discounted card. The bad thing, druid that build towards this may actually be dead before then. That said, theres definitely a chance this sees play, just not sure if its as good as it looks.
Tayla Earthstrider - The main problem of this card is the fact that face hunter is probably still the better archetype, and with the meta currently skewing towards aggro you may argue that this card is presently unplayable.
Tame Pet - Likely unplayable because huffer makes it unplayable. Why the fuck would you wanna chance a better beast when you get to put 4 damage to your opponent's face? Maybe theres other cards down the line that would make this more logical but presently, trash.
The leyline cards - Your payoff requires you to play a 7 mana card in a game where tempo is supreme. Yea, I cant see it happen neither.
Slitherdrake is the right nerf. it's too powerful of a 4 drop (potential 3) not to include in any aggro / midrange deck to not include it. Hell even my random rogue deck runs it because it's a sticky body. How they'll nerf it? Maybe upping the reduced cost to 5 or dropping hp on it. I'd just remove the elusive tag on it myself but we'll see.
Some of these cards are pretty cool, but Bursting Leyline just leaves me questioning what the hell is going on.
I printed this card in my set that introduced "excess damage hits the enemy hero" as a mechanic and don't remember anyone complaining about it.
Surely there's gotta be more support for Leylines than just The Arcanomicon for them to be good... which leads me to believe that Mage might be the class getting the second class set. Either that or they support it in the next set.

Hearthstone Patch 35.4.2 Has Rolled Out - Dev Update Video on May 21
Yeah, like the Arcanomicon buff was honestly just sort of a slap in the face.
As soon as the card was revealed, my first thought is that it probably wouldn't even be that strong at 5 mana, and they didn't even buff it that far.

I love the concept of Leylines, and I find the deck really fun to play. However, my winrate is pretty trash, even after the buffs. I'll keep at it.

That is a big "oof" on the premature, and unsecure, update. ROFL.
