Yeah, not a big fan of only giving people a bundle that they think we'll buy. If they only want us to be able to buy one of the three, they should figure out how to do that in the store since this seems to be a common thing that they do now.
yeah, but it is a shame that all the support and reward cards are splitted into both mana costs, while i love the fire eater and janalai, i mordresh and the the reckless apprentice ar really good aswell
So its no secret that Legends of Runterra only received 15,000 views on its worlds tournament on twitch.
By Riot standards this is an exceptionally low viewer count.
And it has a lot to do with the way Legends plays as a spectator game as of right now.
It prioritizes efficiency, go wide strategies, infinite value engines, all of which aren't particularly interesting to watch.
Meanwhile the "cool" cards ie mono shurima, champions with interesting level up mechanics/quests are generally relegated to meme territory.
This is the one area where hearthstone and and magic when at its best is infinitely more interesting to watch.
Whether it be old school quest warrior, or a magic player going off with some insane combo these things were actually viable competitively.
It wasn't just play a thing that tutors for another thing, do it again, play poppy swing. Or play a thing, tutor for darkness do it again, play Senna.
It really is just watching paint dry in most respects.
So the big advice for the devs make the cool stuff playable, and competitive, this will up the presentation value of your tournaments and make them more exciting to watch.
I'm in the same boat but I want Winter Fury Malfurion. Hopefully these will eventually head to being purchase with gold or bring back these bundles as individual skins in a year or so. One can hope.
I dust everything what was nerfed :D I will craft that when it will be good again. But golden and regular The Demon Seed is gone now with joy in my eyes :D
I wish these skin bundles you could get each one seperatly, id prolly get gul'dan then. But with all 4 or nothing im skipping this 100%, i dont like the other 3skins at all and would never use them and im not paying 25 euro for a single skin.
YEP, I have no problem to put money into the game, even just for asthetics, but 25 $/€? This is not worth it for me. I'd like to have "some" of the skins (Uther) but won't pay anything either. I passed on the Chinese New Year bundle for the same reason.
edit: if I'd get 1 skin for 5 money, I would just buy it instantely (I know I wouldn't get the offer, because 4*5 < 25)
Same tactic for me. But I dusted Illucia last nerf. So it was 1K + x for me (golden rod, normal Rod, normal Perpetual and x from 9+ Brutes - didn't count them)
Only 2140 dust from refunds: I dusted Illucia but kept everything else within playable amounts (so x2 on the normal cards, plus The Demon Seed and Command the Elements).

Also for the bob's bargain bundles i honestly dont liek the personalized ones. Like if youd want the big bundle when normally get small bundles youre out of luck, oppisite aswell.. id rather just have them appear the same for evryone and make small+medium and big bundles show up for evryone.
Hold up. The rewards track backlash was unfounded? Are you serious? You cant be. Thats the one thing that everyone agreed upon at the time.
You probably believe that because you bought into the negativity without actually getting the facts. "Everyone agrees" is the worst possible reason to adopt any opinion. That's how the worst parts of human history have happened, and it's also why I have such a big problem with the hate bandwagon.
If you actually looked into the facts about the Reward Track, you'd know that not much changed in the revamp. They just moved some of the rewards around to make it more obvious that it was better than the old system. The first iteration was already fine, but people were too willing to assume the worst, just like they are doing with Mercenaries.
Haven't seen the Trump video, so thanks for all the info. Sure, positioning matters to some degree, but there's not THAT many moves available, if everything there is 3 vs 3 battles. I can't see how much more depth there can be, being only 3 vs 3.
Oh, I forgot Heroic. Sure, I can see that being challenging (we have to see when it comes out).
I am just worried, will I have enough willingness to play through the early unlocking stages. I have nothing against grind, I like grinding and unlocking things. Everything comes down to a gameplay for me.
If gameplay isn't fun-challenging soon enough, I for sure won't force myself to grind god knows how many hours until maaaybe it will get more fun and interesting.
I think it's most healthy to everyone, don't force yourself to play something you don't like.
Hold up. The rewards track backlash was unfounded? Are you serious? You cant be. Thats the one thing that everyone agreed upon at the time.
Not everyone. Some - myself included - thought it was probably perfectly fine to begin with but Blizz had handled the communication very poorly. Given we now get quite a lot more per expansion than we used to, it indeed seems likely that the original version was going to be no worse than what we previously had. So yeah, I appreciate the extra goodies we got after the backlash, but it probably was unfounded.
The bit that troubles me most about that affair is how visceral and rude the community became, and they ended up being rewarded for it. Blizz failed on communication, absolutely, but the community looks more like the villain in hindsight.
The same thing is repeating itself to some degree with Mercs. It looks decent, perhaps not to everyone, but no game has ever appealed to everyone so that's fine. The communication has been less than perfect, but there are still several weeks left to communicate in, and they had to deal with the sexual harassment scandal at the start. And some in the community are throwing around hate for no good reason; a lack of knowledge does not entitle them to act as though their cynical assumptions are true.
Man, to deserve a full thread opened just to stick one up on a group of people on the internet who has apparently been harsh on blizz's new toy. Its like these guys spat into your cup of coffee one day and you swore to never let them get away with it.
For one thing, the video contains important information that absolutely does deserve a new thread.
But yes, I do have a huge problem with the constant stream of negativity from people who don't even have all the facts. I fully recognize that Blizzard is somewhat to blame for not providing those facts sooner, but that doesn't excuse this ridiculous repeat of the Reward Track backlash, which was also completely unfounded.
Trying to cancel a game mode before it's released -- before we even have answers to our questions about it -- is more harmful to Hearthstone than any of the stuff people were claiming Mercenaries was guilty of.

I am hyped for the new mode, too! Looks fun, and another way to engage with mostly well-loved characters from the old WoW universe. I also like the Pokemon-esque collection/upgrade your fighters element to this mode.
I took time to watch each of the three reveal videos posted on OoC - I would first recommend Trump's - he has the best grasp on the mechanics etc. (and the new mode in general), although Slyssa is the only one who showed (limited) PVP at the end of her video.
FWIW: I plan to be fully F2P for mercenaries ( I buy pre-orders and tavern pass normally).

How To Make Worlds More Sucessful
Or to put it in simpler terms. The things that make competitive sports interesting, are the same things that make e-sports interesting.
Big swings, underdogs, out of left field plays, nobody wants to watch competitive autism unless we're literally talking about chess.
