  • Veigar Bandle City Champion Reveal - 8 New Runeterra Cards Revealed

Now that the excitement has died down, Veigar is looking to be a rather weak champion and I am not talking about his stat line, his design is very clunky:

    - You can only have one Darkness at a time.

    - Before his level the only way for Veigar can generate additional copies of darkness is by playing Darkbulb Acolyte.

    - It's pretty easy to play around Darkness and to deny his level up. We have of course Nopeify!, but you can use recall card and Glimpse Beyond on the targeted card to fizzle the Darkness and if I am not mistaken hitting something that has Barrier and Spell Shield does not count as inflicting damage.

We know that Senna is coming so maybe they will synergies with one another? Because if this is the only support his going to get I think that he will fad to obscurity very quickly.

R is a little closer, but "like a cat" is actually not a cat (probably, the art isn't clear though it definitely has no beast tribe), though stats do come into it.

  • Brawl Block: Gods, Gadgetzan, Gurubashi

how did you do that? A friend has 0 cards of old sets and cant play agaisnt me :(

"I am a cat as stealthy flower of the follower" - Aya Blackpaw (has Sherazin, Corpse Flower's stats)

I have a friend who has no olds cards so he cant do the brawl this week? Is there a solution?

EDIT: and there is no old gods or anything in the list of available extension so he cannot craft anything...

    Quote From h0lysatan

Well, to go back to the topic, I face a lot of Warlock lately, Diamond 9. Shaman Elemental too, but mostly Quest Darkglare SoS Warlock.

Can confirm. WL playrate went up. Maybe because the Buff-Paladin as counter has been nerfed?

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (Hearthstone Riddles)

Nope. The card is inspired by this week's Tavern Brawl.

  • Iksar Asks: Would You Like to See a Class Bonus Event in Hearthstone? Double XP and Ladder Stars as a Highlight

Yeah, this seems like a fun idea to push class diversity.

The f2p whinging is moot as they are not negatively impacted by it in any way.

I also don't understand why people care about star inflation. Rank doesn't matter anyway except high legend, for tournament qualification purposes, where stars don't exist to begin with.

  • Garrote OTK!

    Pretty cool and underrated deck!

There is one big flaw with this list though. You absolutely need the secondLoan Shark. With both of them,Sketchy Information is already oftentimes a dead card that takes valuable hand space. So I took out theCoerce, since it is pretty useless and doesn’t help you in your game plan whatsoever.

The top list on HS Replay runs both sharks as well but replaces wicked stabs with Thalnos and a second augmerchant. While interesting additions, they don’t draw cards in your gadgezan turn and hence synergize less with the overall plan.

Why do I say underrated? It‘s clearly no T1 deck but it deserves much more than 40% win rate, especially because of a favorable matchup against warlocks. You almost always can combo them down the turn before they go ham with Tamsin.

In any case, this is a great and challenging deck for everyone that likes high skill cap, apm decks.

Just remove the fucking Demon Seed from the game and admit it was a mistakes

  • Iksar Asks: Would You Like to See a Class Bonus Event in Hearthstone? Double XP and Ladder Stars as a Highlight

This event cannot be a punishment for Free-2-Play players if it allows them to get some extra resources. Even if you have cards for only one class and you cannot take part in the event, you will not lose anything, since on average this event will allow players to receive only an additional ~ 1500 XP (50 gold). For most of the players, a Class Bonus Event is a great opportunity to try different strategies and styles of play and thus diversify the daily interaction actions in the game.

  • Iksar Asks: Would You Like to See a Class Bonus Event in Hearthstone? Double XP and Ladder Stars as a Highlight

It's an interesting idea to incentivize players to play more HS during a limited-time event, but the implementation needs to be thought out properly. For eg: every player should start off with a random class that has this bonus, not everyone getting the same class with said bonus as I wouldn't want to play MirrorStone. There are ofc negative side effects for F2P players who only play with 3-4 classes and dust the rest of their collection, but I feel those types of players are already impacted by this in other modes like Duels and Arena.

I vaguely remember the director of HS (Ben) said limited-time events were planned when the rewards track was initially released. These were removed when they did the track revamp during DMF. Maybe the limited-time event Dean is talking about is similar to what was originally planned before all the hate towards the original rewards track.

  • Meta after the nerf?

Well so far i've only met 1 Mage since the nerfs and he coined Incanters on 2 and got the whole Questline Done by 6 - so i guess if you have the nuts draw it is still pretty fast/good otherwise i guess decent enough to try.

Mostly i ran into Warlocks right now (different builds) but all of them Quest - im playing Elemental Shaman right now and so far i've won against every single Warlock i faced.

Met some Paladins - all of them Handbuff except one which was Quest. If i would make a Percentage List about every class and how much of them i've encountered i guess it would kinda look like this:

    Warlock - 35 %

    Paladin - 25 %

    Shaman - 10 %

    Druid - 10 %

    Hunter 8 %

    Demon Hunter - 5 %

    Rogue - 4 %

    Mage - 2 %

    Warrior - 1%

Priest - 0 % (havent met a single Priest on the Ladder this Week so far)

That`s kinda what i face this week so far - not exact numbers but i kinda rounded up and tried to memorize which decks i've met. And thats only my personal experience - im not saying that is the official list on Which class gets played who often :)

  • Iksar Asks: Would You Like to See a Class Bonus Event in Hearthstone? Double XP and Ladder Stars as a Highlight

I'm pretty sure there is a fallacy in there since non-Legend ranks are not a zero-sum aspect of the game, so some people getting bonuses won't have a tangible downside for everyone else. The bonus stars would not help you win games, just rank up faster. True, there are some tangible rewards for ranking up, but none of it reduces F2P players' ability to rank up at all. If anything, pushing other players into switching their decks/class will help improve the win rates of those who don't engage with it. Furthermore, if it leads to rank inflation then you'll start encountering players who belong(ed) at lower ranks and who will be easier to beat on average.

So I wouldn't call it a P2W scheme at all. 'Pay to rank up' maybe, but that doesn't harm players with limited class choices and the knock-on effects might benefit them anyway.

  • Achievement Hunting: United in Stormwind edition

Just wrapped up the Demon Hunter achievements with this deck:

    Stormwind Demon Hunter Achievements

    Wild · Unknown Demon Hunter · by meisterz39 · 5 years, 1 month ago

There's a guide that basically goes through it on the deck, but the basic idea is that you shuffle a ton of Persistent Peddlers into your deck, and eventually they end up costing 0. Despite costing 0, drawing them after completing the questline still counts as a 2-mana discount for the sake of completing achievements.

The wild meta means you won't always have a productive match up for this deck, but when you do you can really grind through every achievement quickly. Also, this deck (obviously) loses a lot of games, so be sure to be at a ranked floor.

Thanks , was looking for an idea about the Peddlers :)

I did the Lion Frenzy Achievement "Drawing Frenzy" pretty easy in Wild - just build a deck with Lions Frenzy and Attack buff cards + draw. You also realy don't need Inner Demon (+8 Attack Card) - some Furys and other Attack Buffs + draw should get you an pretty easy 10+ Attack Lions Frenzy.

  • Brawl Block: Gods, Gadgetzan, Gurubashi

This Tavern Brawl is more balanced than the current Standard and Wild metas and I love it!

  • Blizzard Shares "Good" Hearthstone Decks for Standard and Wild Following Yesterday's Card Nerfs

If you only define "control" decks as decks with outlasting their opponent as their only win condition, then indeed control decks don't exist anymore. And that's a good thing. Attrition decks are boring and hell to play against, give me a deck with a win condition any time. I'm also wondering how that Handlock list is aggro or combo, since usually it spends most of the early game just tapping or removing enemy minions, and playing minions and then smashing your opponent's face with them is not a combo. If anything, it's a control deck, since you spend most of the early game controlling the board using cards like Soul Rend until you either stabilise with healing or manage to get your threats to stick.

  • Blizzard Shares "Good" Hearthstone Decks for Standard and Wild Following Yesterday's Card Nerfs

To be fair, the deck still works great even despite the card changes. It finishes games a little bit slower, but so do all other decks since the nerfs, so it's fine. I don't think this is the optimal build (I really like Spice Bread Baker) but in this case the balance changes were really just balance changes and they didn't kill the deck at all.

  • Iksar Asks: Would You Like to See a Class Bonus Event in Hearthstone? Double XP and Ladder Stars as a Highlight

This is a terrible idea, since it really punishes people with small collections. I know plenty of people that disenchant every card from certain classes so that they have enough resources to play what they want from other ones. This would basically lock those people out of progressing as fast as people who throw plenty of money at the screen. This would push Hearthstone even further into P2W territory than it already is, as the amount of money you spend on the game (giving you options of playing many classes) will directly correlate with your bonus stars and thus your rank.

  • Blizzard Shares "Good" Hearthstone Decks for Standard and Wild Following Yesterday's Card Nerfs

In Wild, I'm still playing my Odd Demon Hunter deck, partly because it works, partly to level up my DH since he's only about 30.
