The reason why supports synergize extremely well with poppy is:
they are relatively small units
the way attack effect caculation works you can increase poppy's power with a support before her attack ability triggers increasing her buff range this way
"limiting the efficiency at which combo decks can assemble the pieces they need to win"
Sorry, but I can`t see how the nerfs will do this at all. Do I miss something?
"Efficiency" is a bit weird to make sense of here. I guess they mean the whole process becomes slower because some key cards are more expensive. Not the card draw itself, true, but the increased mana costs can only have a negative (albeit indirect) impact on it.
Damn, all these look like pretty significant upgrades, well maybe not as significant for Maiev, but still decent.
Im interested to know if Shudderwocks Shudderling will replay ALL the battlecries played to that point, or just that turn. Gotta be the former, right? That will be very interesting. Come could kinda screw you tho, like rearranging Blood Gems with that one battlecry, if you forogot you played it :d
They no longer give much thought to Wild, but all these changes will have somewhat of an impact on it, as Darkglare will be down a small peg. Also, I suppose the Quest is not AS overbearing as in Wild, because wild has Crystallizer and can finish game faster thanks to Unlicensed Apothecary. I do wish Blightborn Tamsin was at (7) Mana to slow down the deck in Wild massively, as the nerf won't make AS much of an impact in Standard due to slower quest completion.
I don`t understand why Flesh Giant get only +1 mana. Why not push him to 10 mana? Whould this kill it in Standard?
I am very surprised the quests got no nerfs.
But overall I like the changes. I am not a fan of "killing" cards. I like more little nerfs than destroying cards in one patch. If the nerfs are not strong enough there is a change to nerf the cards again.

They have definitely done a better job with the Book of Mercenaries, yes. By making each individual chapter quite small and forwarding the same series of events as everyone else they have been able to make the whole thing easy to follow. It still assumes some knowledge of the lore (e.g. Tavish and Xyrella bickering with Scabbs about SI:7), but nothing much more than a normal book would mention some things and only explain them fully later.
As for the mercenaries themselves, I think they did a decent job overall. Some of them are a bit too 1-dimensional and stereotypical (e.g. Kurtrus and Tamsin), but others are surprisingly relatable for adventurers in a world of cataclysmic events (especially Xyrella and Bru'kan).
Yay Poppy! And she does what I like to do: attack with buddies, and buff my units. Her level up seems like a pain, though: you have to attack three times, Poppy can't attack alone, and she must live the whole time.
Oh and "Power" is seen in both lowercase and capitalized forms. Way to stay consistent Blizzard Riot.
The quest is certainly the problem here, but short of fundamentally changing the quest there should be some tweak to Crystallizer. Probably the best fix is to reword Crytallizer's text to "Convert 5 of your hero's health into armor." That way it wouldn't actually deal damage, just transform health. That would be consistent with High Priest Thekal and not actually alter the card mechanically outside of warlock.
Exactly, they tried to solve this problem by only allowing standard decks in the Trials of Felfire, but most of the fights were still rather easy because it also needed to be doable in any potential future standard rotation.
Got the XP quest to play 12 dragons. With no real dragon archetype in the Standard meta (or Wild really) I decided my only option was to MEME! Took me only six tries to live the dream as a Demon Hunter with infinite Hero Powers! And the best part is that it was against a Questline mage who played Arcanist Dawngrasp TWICE! Yes, they used Potion of Illusion generated off a Runed Orb to get a second (1) 1/1 copy. I didn't even pay attention to if the effect stacked, I thought me and my 18 HP were done for. But somehow the Mage had ran out of steam and didn't have any draw or generation spells in the 4 they were holding. So I survived and played Felfire Deadeye, Coldarra Drake and a few other dragons to not only win but finish my "play dragons" quest!

I thought of Taric Poppy(targon+demacia) extra attack support tribal
Just imagine the value of supporting Poppy with a Taric who has Golden Aegis on him...

The First Round of Stormwind Balance Changes Is Near - What Could We Expect?
Aimed shot should read, "Deal 3 damage to a minion." I would reduce Pack Runner to a 2/2 and otherwise keep it the same.

Well seems like we will have more nerfs... I don't think it will be enough to fully change the meta... But pretty good

Weeeell that's probably not gonna do much overall.
Battlemaster at 6 is still way too op and I won't be surprised if it has to be nerfed a 2ndd time later down the line (aka 2 weeks from now).
Flesh Giant also seems like more of a slap than an actual nerf. It needs to be at 10-mana to actually curb those early double Giant turns.
As far as I see the Deck burn Control Questlock will remain a tier one deck with this because it almost exclusively benefits from all the other nerfs.

New Bandle City Champion - Poppy
As the "Hero of the meek" is Poppy proably on the stronger side of champions.
Her ability to "lead the charge" in aggro and midrange decks will certainly boost demacia and bandle decks quite a bit.
I also could see myself dropping 1-2 Sorakas from my Taric Soraka deck to increase the tempo of the deck.
