The idea of BOH is nice, but not the implementation, your mulligan is "rigged" and the difficult is really low at the 90% of games.
The adventures should be a challege as the old adventures was. I remember how i was complaining against Heroic Naxx or some dungeon run adventures, and BOH needs that.
I think the Books of Heroes/Mercenaries are fun (it's the only part of the game where I put the sound on), but basically zero replayability. So from that perspective, I can believe that they might not invest much more time and effort in this mode.
15th August update: DustyScales' Reno Shudderwock Shaman, ft. Bolner, Nobleman and Varian, King of Stormwind!
Reno Shudderwock Shaman! Finally, I am at a comfortable point in my ladder position (low legend) where I can play this without running into too many warlocks. This deck features new additions from the United in Stormwind expansion - Bolner Hammerbeak, Nobleman, Canal Slogger, and Varian, King of Stormwind.
Shudderwock Shaman is my favourite deck of all time. Let's see what happens after the upcoming nerfs. Hopefully, it becomes more viable.
Still need to do Illidan, but overall, pretty cool. I learned some things. After Book of Mercenaries is done, I think they should move on. We probably don't need a Book of Alternate Heroes or something. I guess there are a few we could learn more lore from, like Sylvanas.
Don't know about anyone else, but I'll pretty much definitely be converting my entire pack to dust. Except maybe if I get an epic or legendary.
As someone who's never played any of the Warcraft games, and only a little bit of World of Warcraft, I absolutely adored the Book of Heroes. It was a great way to discover the backstory for all the main Hearthstone protagonists!
It would be great if they looked at the alternate hero skins like Nemsy and Mecha-Jaraxxus once the Book of Mercenaries is done.
That's actually a really interesting approach - it wouldn't cut out entire classes but you could eliminate the most tilting match-ups - like a control deck could ban cards like Demonseed without eliminating cubelock from showing up.
Yeah, but the weird thing is that initially they both appeared in the "Standard" section of the pack store, and the Wild packs aren't labeled as being Wild specific. The only indication was the vines and the pack contents description after you click on the pack where it states it contains "5 Wild Hearthstone Cards".
Because they didn't properly label them as Wild without clicking on the pack, and the initial placement in the store, some people may not have been aware that they existed. Since launch they have been moved to the "Other Packs" section next to Classic packs so it's a little clearer.
I actually played my 1st one yesterday (Rexxar), even being here since Beta non-stop! Single player content just doesn't interest me that much.
However, it was a pleasant surprise. The narrative is cool, there's an interesting use of game mechanics. I noticed there was a mix of official Warcraft lore with invented stuff, for ex. Rexxar is from Draenor, he joins the Horde, helps Thrall, fights Azeroth's wars (looks like official canon) but then at the end he goes back to Draenor to help his clan deal with stuff. So it rounds up a story quite well, just don't take it as gospel.
Curious to check the other ones, specially now with this beautiful reward!

they could add book of heroes with alternate heroes, such as Tyrande, Maiev, Arthas, Medivh, Magni etc. that would be fun I guess

And, about the question, i love the idea about a book of evil heroes, but the real ones, Medivh, Deathwing, Sargeras, Mal'Ganis... not Heistbaron Togwaggle or Madame Lazul.

I would love to play a Tyrande chapter, though!

Thanks for the reminder that I still need to finish Illidan's story. Sometimes I forget that the Initiate solo content wasn't his BoH story.
