Some of this stuff seems genuinely terrible. Like a full on step backward from where Hearthstone has progressed to. I don't understand the thought process in their design.
As Regis points out in his review, a card he revealed like 5 years ago, Desert Spear, isn't much different than Remote Control.
Right, hunter cards. My general opinion is that hunter is not going to have a very fun expansion coming up next. Cute cards though :)
Hemet, Foam Marksman - Well well. This is the sort of card thats supposed to be broken as fuck. Basically a card that gives you good reload, at discounted prices, hemet himself is a mere 5 mana. So what's the issue here? Let's start with the most obvious: the condition is nigh impossible to do against control decks, and against everything else it prob wouldnt or shouldnt matter even if you manage to get value out of hemet.
So you play R.C. Rampage on 4 and cross fingers. There's just no other cheap beast around with rush so you can at very least get something out of this. Ironically, hunter has often gotten tokens with rush in expansions without any further support, and here's an expansion where those rushing beast would have been useful and they're just not here.
Mystery Egg - Unironically the best hunter card this expansion. Get a copy of a beast and make it cost 5 less. That's about as good as it gets. And you get to do it again.
R.C. Rampage - Seriously. Why dont the tokens have rush. Just summon 4 beast with rush with this thing, it wouldnt be anywhere near broken, and it'll make hemet a ton better. As it stands, it just a shit card that you pray a hail mary for.
Patchwork Pals - What the hell is this card. Animal companions for 2 mana is good. But really, this is hearthstone 2024 where even hunter are expected to have tons of reload. Where does this even get to? At best this is just 4 mana to deal a quick 4 damage to face.
Toyrannosaurus - Brief mention that I like the signature art. As a card though, absolute trash in competitive.
This seems pretty weak, but will probably be more threatening than I realized. Having ways to make Beasts on the board without including them in your deck is great with cards like Mystery Egg around.
This card is super strong! Getting all 3 in hand with a discount, then getting to play them when needed, along with things like Jungle Gym and Painted Canvasaur is going to be quite powerful.
This is the lovechild of Crackling Razormaw and Gentle Megasaur. Those were both strong cards that were played a lot, so this should be pretty nice too!
This seems mostly just to go with Jungle Gym. Since the hounds don't have rush or taunt, their use is minimal. Oh, well then there's Bunny Stomper. That, plus Hemet, Foam Marksman, plus this is 11 mana.
This card is going to be bonkers! You might have a hard time popping the regular version, but the mini is a 1/1. Those discounts are huge, plus the Beast you get is a copy, so the original is still in your deck.
It's tempting to undervalue this card given its damage limit (7), but I've been playing long enough to know that Hunter will cheese out wins by pecking you here and there and here with stuff like this.
But, the flavor makes no sense. Why is a "jungle gym" shooting people?
Love this card, and expect it to be quite good! The pool of Legendary Beasts from the past is sizeable, but will definitely include quite a few great hits.
In case anyone missed it, I'm pretty sure "Foam Marksman" is intended to refer to the word "nerf," so it will be hilarious if this card gets nerfed!
I am disagreeing at a point. I don't want to see a black Aragorn (MTG:Arena) or a gay Aragorn in a product while it is originally white straight masculine character.
I'm ok with Baldur's Gate III. I'm ok with NEW LGBTQ/ethnic characters but when they change something or when it is out of place like what it has to do with a guerilla war to be a LGBTQ person, it is just annoying.
I will get lots of downvotes for calling this probably but i need to say this.
I am completely against including LGBTQ and ethnicity IF the product(Game, Film, Series etc.) is based on a period or doesn't have that kind of stuff in its origins of the lore or sexual orientation/ethnicity isn't important for the plot at all. I will give examples.
Including these just because including them without any plot causes more harm than benefit in my opinion.
I am not calling that they shouldn't add that kind of stuff completely but for example, when LOTR saga have no black people in its lore and is handled that ethnicity stuff with their own way in storytelling (like british people being hobbits, jews being dwarves etc.) it looks just absurd to including ethnicity just because appealing them to gain more money.
Same with Red Dead Redemption 2. It was a period drama about end of 1800s on America and there was neither that much Black sherrifs in that time nor it could be because of how people looks that situation in those times but in the game (at least in the Online part) we have a lot and there is no need to fool ourselves like they are doing that just because they care about the subject. This is happenning just because of marketing.
Same with LGBTQ. I am completely not against including in fiction worlds/sagas etc. In a game like Baldur's Gate that sexual orientation matters and there is some interaction about romance etc. it has a meaning so including LGBTQ characters matters and important but when sexual orientation is not important for plot at all, including them just because including can be annoying. It may cause non-LGBTQ people to annoy more when you include as if poking into the eye.
When it is a period drama that there can be no LGBTQ person in that time or it does not have anything to do at all with the plot , it is even more annoying to see some LGBTQ characters like for example you are watching a series about a World War II or playing a game like COD, it is all about war, and LGBTQ people jumps in every corner. When this happens, I am like "Ok but what does that have to do with anything at all in a film/serie/game like this !?"
So, when it is well implemented and matters include everyone in gaming, films, series; I am not against it but positive discrimination nowadays went off the rails as if there are not other people, like everything happens around LGBTQ and ethnic people and like everything is about you are being black or gay or lesbian or any other stuff and people act like if you are not then you are trying to otherise them even though it is not the truth.
Other people than LGBTQ and ethnic people are otherized more nowadays and I will probably be accused by LGBTQ/ethnicity antagonism just because i wrote these.
TL;DR - I am just saying, there needs to be a balance and a meaning for this. It shouldn't be for just marketing.
An absolute titan in the industry! His work is some of the most recognizable and shows the huge impact Japan has had on North American youth culture in the 90s, popularizing anime (and to a degree manga). Every day Dragon Ball could be found on tv and you bet I was glued to it.
I'm looking forward to the April launch of the Sand Land game.
I'm totally with you here. Like many of us I stuck with Mage exclusively for quite a while when I started playing and I've enjoyed decks like OG Tempo Mage a lot. These days the class is pretty boring to play and often miserable to play against, especially in Wild (looking at you, Quest Mage and Secret Mage). Even Hero Power Mage and Mech Mage were kinda cool until they got nerfed... But in all honesty, I've given up. I've dusted nearly all my Mage cards and kept only what I consider the "ultimate" Mage deck from a flavor point of view. It's not meta relevant by any means but it's also not helpless on ladder. I'm slowly upgrading it to fully golden :D
So once again we're doing this, mage gets yet another two casino cards that will unironically be viable to make everyone's life a tiny bit more miserable.
The Galactic Projection Orb - This card is basically Magister Dawngrasp. It'll do some token chip damage, raise a few minions for you and may completely shift the board in your favor. Not much else to comment on aside from the fact that it'll likely see play in most mage decks. I hope to dear god that team5 have made this card undiscoverable, because it'll not be fun to see this card more than once per game.
Yogg in the Box - Its yogg, it'll see play. It might also be good enough in competitive, or perhaps more likely it might dominate this specific expansion due to the smaller spell pool. Imagine this card casting the galactic orb which then proceed to cast another yogg box. Im sure this interaction is not possible, right team5?
Watercolor Artist - Would actually have been OP if it werent for the fact that its very specifically frost spells and there isnt really any OP frost spells right now.
Sleet Skater - It looks good, but in reality its likely not better than Arcane Artificer in games where gaining armor matters. If youre going up against an aggro deck this card wouldnt gain you significant armor, and against midrange-value decks it might gain you a good deal of armor but likely it wouldnt matter. Youd much rather just slam a 1/3 that must be killed on the early turns rather than rely on a 5 mana card that stalls one minion.
But admitably, if the meta shifts to big minions then this card is quite insane, being able to essentially stall two turns + gain tons of armor.
To save time Blizzard should have a coin toss at the beginning of this Brawl to decide the winner. It would be just as much fun. Took me four games before I got lucky.

Remote Control - Plenty of cards like these have worked. Carving Chisel, Umberwing etc. No reason for this not to work as well.
So, not looking too good for hunter. Think hunter may need a little boost, because I cant see the class being very popular outside of gold ranks.
New Hunter Spell - Patchwork Pals
Who doesn't like a handbuff-able Huffer !

Solid card. This is what Call Pet should always have been.

New Hunter Minion - Toyrannosaurus
A great card overall, and very nice to get a copy of through Mystery Egg. Also, Yelling Yodeler will be in Standard for another year.

Shocked and saddened. One of the few Japanese artist whos style is truly unique, almost a perfect cross between anime and western designs.
Hopefully his legacy is respected and finally allow some closure to his work.
