  • Reviewing Hearthstone's New Priest Cards Arriving With United in Stormwind

Priest is my least played class in ranked.

The only Priest deck I really liked was Dragon Priest because it was some kind of "Midrange Priest".

Darkbishop Benedictus will be the only legendary in this set I will craft 100% because it will enable a "Midrange Priest" (or even a "Aggro Priest") again.

  • UiS OTK Mage Deck

That's why there are two Ice Blocks....and I didn't say it would do well.  It's just the way I'd build it.

  • New Rogue Minion - Loan Shark

This might actually be good. With Counterfeit Blade and Sketchy Information it has some interesting synergies and rogues tend to like coins a lot. I'm quite certain someone will find a way to abuse this.

  • New Rogue Spell - Find the Imposter

I really like the design of this quest and I think it and its supportive SI:7s have enough tempo to actually be good. If not this entire expansion has basically been a failure for rogue.

  • New Rogue Minion - SI:7 Operative

Not great, but you probably still run this for the critical mass of SI:7s. Additionally, as with most of the other new SI:7 cards how good they are is largely dependant on if the quest appears to be playable, if not this won't see play either.

  • New Rogue Minion - SI:7 Assassin

Best one of all new SI:7s, but as with most of the other new SI:7 cards how good they are is largely dependant on if the quest appears to be playable, if not this won't see play either.

  • New Neutral Minion - SI:7 Skulker

If the quest appears to be unplayable, this card isn't completely forsaken. It still might pop up in an stealth deck. Not spectacular, but decent in Arena as well.

  • complete Weekly Quests before or after launch?

Over a long period of time (and assuming you either always buy Tavern Pass or never buy Tavern Pass), there shouldn't be much of a difference from a value perspective.

That said, I think the case where it does make sense is if you're F2P. Extra levels early translate to more stuff on day 1, which is much more impactful for F2P players who don't already have loads of packs to open from purchased bundles.

  • New Rogue Minion - SI:7 Informant

Decent stat bomb. As with most of the other new SI:7 cards how good they are is largely dependant on if the quest appears to be playable, if not this won't see play either.

  • Winners of the Out of Cards United in Stormwind Mega Bundle Giveaways

Oh man, as a free to play player, seeing that I made it into the top 7 but didn't win is frustrating, exciting, and an honour. Thank you for this giveaway! I have to agree that KANSAS's guide is better than mine, though. I hope you do this again for the next xpac so that I have a chance to step up my game. :)

  • Tavish Quest Spell Hunter

Just put in Flarefor APM Mage.

  • Gasoline Mage (Fire + Spell Damage)

Haha, you beautiful bastard, you lifted my guide formatting. Now I've gotta try this deck out! How dare you?

Also, the Garfield quote in your signature is top-tier.

  • Reviewing Hearthstone's New Priest Cards Arriving With United in Stormwind

I need all the legendary cards this set for the soul reason of getting diamond Benedictus as a reward!  I don’t care if Shadow Priest ends up being good or not, I just want it!  I don’t remember who said it in what interview, but I swear they promised more future Shadow Priest support not long after Mind Blast went Hall of Fame.  And FINALLY they delivered something that could maybe make a viable Shadow Priest deck beyond Shadowreaper Anduin.  I have been hyped since the reveal of this card!  Kind of hope they explore other “class specs” in the future with similar cards.

  • New Rogue Spell - SI:7 Extortion

Better than Backstab if you ask me. Will see plenty play across all formats.

  • New Hunter Spell - Defend the Dwarven District

Yeah, this one is scary. My prediction is that to a large extent this quest and its counters are going to depict how the meta is going to look like in Standard, and to a lesser extent, maybe even in Wild as well alongside Dragonbane.

  • New Paladin Minion - Highlord Fordragon

This can give you some massive buffs, but the turn you play this, it's nothing more than a mediocre stat bomb. So unless you can consistently get these buffs on impactful minions this is just a bad card. Also, in order to get these massive buffs I feel like you have to run too many other mediocre cards, so I'm not sold on this.

  • Winners of the Out of Cards United in Stormwind Mega Bundle Giveaways

    Congrats to the winners!

  • New Warlock Minion - Bloodbound Imp

Has excellent synergy with The Demon Seed and maybe, though probably not, Darkglare Warlock in Wild is interested in this. I don't think this will see play anywhere else. In Arena, Hecklefang Hyena is decent. This is probably slightly better, but not by much.

  • New Shaman Minion - Spirit Alpha

It has synergy with itself as you generally want to hide cards like these behind a taunt such that hopefully, you can profit from its effect a little longer. This might get slotted into Quest Shaman as a tech option if there are many aggro decks in the meta.

  • New Warrior Minion - Stormwind Freebooter

Doesn't have much of a downside. 3/3 body is decent, it has a pirate tag, and good battlecry. Just an all-round good card, in Arena around a similar power level as Hog Rancher.

  • New Paladin Minion - Catacomb Guard

A 3 mana 2/5 with Lifesteal and a battlecry that deals 2 damage sounds decent to me already. And this card will only get better as it gets handbuffed even more. Certainly in Standard, this is good enough to see play in handbuff decks, but it might even be good enough for a Wild deck as well. Not sure about that.

  • Questing in Stormwind - Better Understanding Warrior's Raid the Docks Legendary Questline

I can definitely see this card existing in a build of pirate warrior in wild, though I'm not sure if just fitting it into a typical list would work that well. Stuff that is normally very good in that deck, like Patches the Pirate and Parachute Brigand unfortunately do not progress the quest, and for the case of the Brigand, definitely hurt the completion rate of the quest.

As for this quest being "a solid win condition", while true that inevitably will win a game, I am concerned about decks that have their own dedicated late game plan. Stuff like Lord Jaraxxus kinda puts the reward to shame or with a hypothetical Quest Dude paladin having a button that creates 2 5/3 divine shields per turn. We've had slow value win conditions in the past, mainly Lakkari Sacrifice, and while this one is significantly easier to complete, it still runs into the main issue that slow incremental value is typically too slow.

    Staff Pro

I'm going to be disappointed if this doesn't happen now.

  • Questing in Stormwind - Better Understanding Rogue's Find the Imposter Legendary Questline

While hand size issues can become a bit of an issue, especially when Field Contact is still on the board, I think that Rogue is still able to dump their hand on the board fast enough to make this not much of an issue.

As for running minions that draw like Loot Hoarder, thats a good idea, but then the issue becomes it does not really synergize that well with the rest of the deck. We'll just have to see how the quest turns out ultimately as with this one, theres lots of room to try different things out.

  • New Neutral Minion - Northshire Farmer

This is so bad the turn it gets played and I think that downside is too detrimental for this to ever be a good card, but it will still see some play. Because how else are you ever going to get your Sword of a Thousand Truths?
