  • Druids and Priests are Getting Nerfed! Blizzard Announces Card Nerfs for Gibberling, Apotheosis, and Renew

If you think it's not already deleted you're crazy. I literally only won the games where I drew Apotheosis AND I didn't kept it on my opening hand. With this Priest is more dead than the Lych King.

  • New Neutral Minion - Peasant

Maybe if Beaming Sidekick were still around. Acceptable pick in Arena if the other two cards suck also- maybe half the games it can go off turn 2 depending on what classes are strong.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    Pro

    1) Bandersmosh

    2) hasn't been narrowed down enough, could be pretty much anything that has the potential for multiple Taunts. I'm thinking Greybough, Hadronox, both Hoggers, maybe even Jeklik.

    3) the most iconic "makes another thing" card is Deathstalker Rexxar imho.

    Conclusion: We need more hints.

(on a side note, I noticed the grammar error, too, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility that R wrote their posts that way intentionally. Maybe it's a minion with several different cards in the game like Alexstrasza. I can't think of one with three iterations that fit the riddle, though)

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

Damn good guess though, cat. Also correct English is, "that these are Legendary minions"

Been wracking my brain trying to figure it out but too tired now. Will try again tomorrow!

  • Dean Ayala's Hearthstone Community Q&A #21 - New Minion Types Coming to Constructed, Possible New Adventure Next Year

I was the one asking about the deep sea expansion and I forgot to mention even Neptulon! A Deep Sea hearthstone expansion is just too good to be true!

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

My previous hint means that this is a Legendary minions (:

I mean it is a decent deck, but not so good it would warrant a nerf

  • The Duelist Burndown!

there's a T1 lethal with blade of queldalar guaranteed in ur opening hand and then hero power windfury.

Not sure who downvoted, I have a sense that you guys are just bad at playing off meta lists, or maybe you aren't control players hard to say.

Like if you want meta trash, just go to mobalytics, easy to play, easier to win.

Just because someone down votes your deck, doesn’t mean they are a bad player. It just means either your deck doesn’t fit their style, or they had a bad experience with your deck.

if you want more off meta decks to be played, you can always post more decks for people to try.

Either way, it doesn’t help your argument if you call people bad player

That MMR discussion is interesting. I would honestly like to know my MMR because I really like playing useless but niche decks but would rather not sacrifice the star advantage at the start of the month to climb back to diamond 5. So if my MMR dips to below that threshold, I'll simply play more seriously until it gets to a point where Im more comfortable playing other, less powerful decks.

Im sure if it were published it would cause some interesting reddit post where losing to a face hunter tanked the MMR more so than losing to a priest. But Ive seen it worked in other games before, so I dont think it'll really cause a riot to have a metric like that.

Really, really appreciate your thoughtful analysis here! I think the issue for me (and therefore a small section of players at least and a majority at most) is primarily what you touched on in your third point: the real winners are Hunters, Shamans, and Paladins. While we definitely will have to wait for the meta to shake out before we declare gloom and doom to be a foregone conclusion, I (read: some players) was already at a point before the nerfs where I was considering quitting till next expansion because of the prevalence of Shaman. The mere thought that it's possible I'll face even more Elemental Shaman, Deathrattle Inquisitor, and ME GO FACE--even if it's just for a little while--actually makes my stomach churn. That's not even hyperbole--I have a real, physical reaction to the thought of playing even more Shamans than I already do... hence why I actually took the plunge and decided to quit till Stormwind. I might be alone in wanting to hurl because of Elemental Shaman, but I'm pretty sure I speak for a lot of players when I say I don't want to live in a Hearthstone world where almost all of what you face... well, goes face.

That's the thing though--certainly it was one of the highest winrate cards in the deck, but it was right in line with a bunch of other cards. If I correctly understand "overtuned" to mean "significantly higher than average winrate," it certainly wasn't overtuned--if you look at the cards that top the list in terms of played winrate, it's right in line with the likes of N'Zoth, God of the Deep, Mutanus the Devourer, and Xyrella in the 59-60% range (Blademaster Samuro is sitting at the top of the next tier at 57.5%). What that tells us is that alongside everyone's favorite Tickatus eater and two significant board swings, Apotheosis + Blademaster Samuro was one of Priest's win conditions--it acted as sort of a second Xyrella in terms of healing a bunch and swinging the board. If Apotheosis were sitting at a 63-65% winrate, then I'd definitely agree with you that it was overtuned! But since its played winrate was right in line with the other three win conditions, I don't think we can legitimately say it was overtuned--the problem with the card was not power level but how it felt. And I would even argue that if it had been correctly identified by the majority of players as a win condition (rather than simply your average board clear + heal), it wouldn't have felt as bad as it did.

On another note, I was expecting the card to get nerfed, but I was expecting them to bump the mana cost to 4, not take away half of Priest's answers to a 3-health board. I think a lot of the outrage is coming not from the fact that Apotheosis was nerfed, but rather that it was nuked to the point of near unplayability.

  • Control Isn't Control In Legends

I think it completely depends on what you'd define Combo decks as. I don't think Combo decks have the inherent stall that you mentioned, it's just that most of them do. The defining trait of a Combo deck is a specific set of cards that can either swing the game in your favor or win on the spot, and that means that most of the time the best way to do so is by using Control tools to stall or speed up your win condition. Some decks however don't really do that. Encroaching Shadows or Elusive decks are a good example of Combo decks that don't.

So you can't really say that one single card is a Combo. Running Atrocity in a Deep or Nasus deck doesn't make it a Combo deck because it uses different ways to win outside of Atrocity. Feel The Rush isn't exactly a combo deck when it's literally a single good card and in the same deck it's not only your win condition because you can play the champions on their own. Ezreal Combo decks lose if you literally don't draw an Ezreal, but the same can't be said for Draven Ezreal.

Honestly though, I do understand where you're coming from. LoR is a weird game where cards meant to be win conditions can be reused to build different archetypes at the same time. Thresh Nasus could be a Control or Midrange deck depending on how you build it. Fiora decks could be a Combo deck or a Midrange deck. Ezreal could be Control/Midrange/Combo. So yeah it just kinda depends on what you think can be considered a Combo deck.

  • The Duelist Burndown!

There so much potential with this brawl. But eventually you'll get to an Omu and then its just a one way street from there.

  • The Duelist Burndown!

"Let's introduce broken OTK-enabling shenanigans to ruin a cool brawl."

"That's not stupid enough, let's lower the starting health by 10 just to make sure it's completely unfun always!"

  • Control Isn't Control In Legends

Feel the rush was exactly the combo card I was thinking of. I've seen it run in all sorts.of lists with all sorts of Champs...want to know why because as a combo card the exact decklist doesn't matter as long as it excels as stalling out the game and giving you that magical top deck.

  • It turns out you were right, but you said it too early. After Starving Buzzard was buffed your hand size is larger so Tundra Rhino is now a good card.

  • Druids and Priests are Getting Nerfed! Blizzard Announces Card Nerfs for Gibberling, Apotheosis, and Renew

Good nerfs, priest will be less annoying to play against.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

Sounds like "Faceless" is what is in common. Faceless Manipulator for the first line, Faceless Shambler and Faceless Lurker for the second line (and actually Faceless Manipulator works if a Taunt is on board), and Faceless Summoner for the third line.

  • The Duelist Burndown!

I got my deck and bailed. Totes fun.

  • Druids and Priests are Getting Nerfed! Blizzard Announces Card Nerfs for Gibberling, Apotheosis, and Renew

Alright, we’re one step closer to getting Priest deleted at this rate

  • Make Room in Your Quest Log for Tomorrow - Nozdormu Day's First Quest is Coming!

I think they didn't use the legendary quest slot because it might be taken up by other events. For example, people that didn't finish their Fire Festival questline yet will still have that in their legendary quest slot.

As for the reward, it's still 50% more XP for a quest that is relatively easy to complete. And while Hearthstone is expensive, I don't think a monthly event would be the way to fix that. It's much easier to increase the gold to XP ratio, if they wanted to make the economy more budget friendly.

  • Make Room in Your Quest Log for Tomorrow - Nozdormu Day's First Quest is Coming!

I played three games with Nozdormu in Wild and it activated 2 out of 3 times, so the quest seems to make a big difference compared to two months ago when I couldn't find a single opponent playing Nozdormu.

  • Details on Runeterra's Sentinels of Light Dueling Event Pass - Declare Your Allegiance

The reveal of the rewards track today was GREAT. I was mentally preparing myself to buy some of the great cosmetics in the patch notes, and they all turned out to be in the pass.

Plus, the OOC summary above skips one of the biggest pieces of news: We’re getting a Senna champion! That last level of the pass isn’t just an icon. You’ll also earn a champion card when Senna is released in the next explanation. I’ve been hoping for a Senna champion.

  • Control Isn't Control In Legends

Combo more so referring to decks that have their entire wincon based around one decisive turn and everything else is just stalling.

That definition can easily be applied to most control decks, take feel the rush for example all you do is in the early and mid game is stalling until you can play feel the rush and swing for big damage.
