  • Hearthstone's New Tavern Special and Bob's Bargain Standard & Wild Bundles are Now Live

    Well that's disappointing...

Tavern special: 2 Legendaries and 35 packs for Forged in the Barrens (EUR 29.99)

Bob's bargain: 2 wild Legendaries and 40 Wild Packs (EUR 29.99)

All I wanted was the Phoenix packs coz I wanna get that Bigglesworth coin 😭

  • Battle.net App Now Supports Cross-Region Friend Lists

    Wow I'm amazed this wasn't already in there. It's 2021 :P

  • Hearthstone's New Tavern Special and Bob's Bargain Standard & Wild Bundles are Now Live

I ended up with these offers:

Tavern Special: 2 random Forged in the Barrens Legendaries, 35 Forged in the Barrens Packs for 29,99 Euros.

Bob's Bargain: 2 random Wild Legendaries, 40 Wild Packs for 29,99 Euros.

FINALLY they offered me the wild bundle. Last time they did something similar they didn't despite Wild being my most played mode. But even though i would like to get it, it seems to expensive to me.

I see some people got cheaper versions of the offers (19,99 euro instead of 29,99) and honestly i wish i got the cheaper version. If i got the cheaper version (even if that meant less packs) i would have actually thought about getting it, because you still get the 2 legendaries. (Even though Wild Legendaries are pretty bad, considering there are a lot of useless legendaries* in wild. But hey a good amount can still be fun to use in some meme decks!)

(*Ahem The Skeleton Knight i unpacked out of my first wild pack.*)

    Pro

    2 Barrens Legendarys + 35 packs for 29,99€

    2 Wild Legendarys + 40 Wild packs for 29,99€

This is actually quite interesting. First of all, the different number of packs for the same price is surprising. I mean it was to be expected something like this, but I wouldn't have thought they'd be this blatant about it. Then the algorythm has me figured out pretty well. I do get the bigger pre-order bundle on a regular basis, but I'm a Wild main. Perfect offer for me, now I'll have to decide if and what I'm going to take. I'm missing only 3 Barrens legendarys for diamond Bru'kan... hm.

we need to get this onto iksar's AMA this week.

  • Hearthstone's New Tavern Special and Bob's Bargain Standard & Wild Bundles are Now Live

    Barrens bundle - 2 leg + 30 packs for 1650 RUB (≈22.9 USD)

    Wild bundle - 2 leg + 35 packs for 1650 RUB (≈22.9 USD)

    I'm a wild player :)

  • Hearthstone's New Tavern Special and Bob's Bargain Standard & Wild Bundles are Now Live

    Glad it's working as intended

  • Demons? Demons!

Fire Breather is probably one of the less consistent cards: it is good against Rogue and Paladin, but less so against decks that don't play many minions. Depending on the meta, you might be able to cut it.

Midway Maniac is not much of a threat, especially without Felosophy. In a low-aggro meta you could cut Maniac, but against Hunter a high-health taunt is pretty useful.

I'm not sure how useful Flesh Giant would be in this deck: against aggro you want interact with the board on turn 2 instead of tapping, which means it will be hard to get the Giant discounted early enough for it to matter. Against slower decks the Giant eventually becomes free, which is great for a reload after a board clear, but with Stealer of Souls + draw on turn 6/7 you probably already have enough reload capability.

I do like Flesh Giant as a card, but it's already difficult to get it to work when you build the deck around it, let alone if you try to slot it into a deck that it only partially fits into.

You could go for a larger Soul Fragments package, using Luckysoul Hoarder, Bloodmage Thalnos, Mortal Coil and Tour Guide for card draw, School Spirits for AoE and add Tamsin Roame and Lord Jaraxxus as well, while cutting Matron + Hand and most of the demon synergies. It would be a different deck by then, but maybe one in which Flesh Giants would fit better, as there would be more control tools and more frequent healing (many small heals from Soul Fragments vs a few big heals from Man'ari Mosher). I might actually try that out later.

Wailor: I like it. It maintains the flavor of the original while still being its own thing. Might be too dangerous late game, but I think that's okay given the condition and the fact only one Fireball could be played that same turn.

linkblade91: This card reads weird. It wants to be a "For the rest of the game…" but has to have the other text regarding costs on it as well. Maybe make it like the Rogue quest and have it add a card to your hand. This would shorten the text as well. Spreading Saplings exists, so maybe just add that (or variant) to the hand.

R: My favorite so far. This also maintains the flavor of the original. It would be nice to have the 5/5 effect in there as well, but I understand text limitations prevents that. Great!

anchorm4n: I don't like the Pitch-Black Knight. Way too OP. The effect for Indiana Ford is great and very fitting for a remake of a Harrison Jones with restrictions. While I understand the name, it's off-putting for Hearthstone since the other has a precedent in WoW. That said, this is just a Card Design Competition and not actual Hearthstone so it's quite alright.

DestroyerR: Card is perfectly fair as is. This isn't a critique of your card, but if I were designing it, I think I would keep the Start of Game effect and have it be the next card drawn so it's as if Leeroy is charging to the front of the deck. Dumb, maybe, but flavorful haha.

Demonxz95: In the current Standard set, that would only leave 2 weapons Headhunter's Hatchet and Trueaim Crescent. I think it could keep the flavor of a NE Ranger if it said something like "add 2 random Hunter Shots to your hand." similar to how Poisons became a thing for Rogue. List of Standard Shots

  • Hearthstone's New Tavern Special and Bob's Bargain Standard & Wild Bundles are Now Live

Barrens and Phoenix 2+35 for 30$ each. Almost never played or bought packs for wild so ok.

  • Hearthstone's New Tavern Special and Bob's Bargain Standard & Wild Bundles are Now Live

Alright, Im fairly certain this is a fairly unanimous feeling around the community, so please blizz,

Please just let us purchase these bundles in whatever shape or form you decide to sell it in.

Apparently in the past players were exchanging url links to buying bundles that were not offered to them to bypass blizz baffling use of algorithms and blizz's response to this was to not offer it from battlenet so they cant do that anymore. I'm not entirely certain if this is true, but if it is it shows that even when players are happily waving money at their faces, they are adamantly denying them. Instead, they are actively pushing them towards buying something they don't need as opposed to what they want.

Also, I still can't buy the packs for some reason because I'm "ineligible". That's 20 bucks that is not going to be in their financial statements. Like really, I thought of all things this was supposed to be the one thing they can't mess up with.

  • Demons? Demons!

Nice deck. I didn't really find Felosophy useful and I was facing hunters often so I replaced it with Drain Soul instead. I really wish I could slot in Flesh Giants somewhere, but nothing else seems cuttable.

    Wind Lords:

    Show Spoiler

Name is a placeholder until I think of something a bit.. more.

Considering making the cost lower so it has a bigger impact on deckbuilding. I'm thinking 4 mana 4/4 and have it affect 4-cost cards, while possibly adjusting the stats of the Wind Lords as well. This would remove Vivid Spores, which would make this a nightmare to face, and allow setup with Primal Dungeoneer.

This effect allows Al'Akir to be reminiscent of its Classic self, with the four keywords that make it notable spread over four minions. It also ties into the Al'Akir encounter in WoW which required the Wind Lords to be defeated before tackling the big guy himself.

Considered having the Wind Lords make Al'Akir dormant instead of immune, and having Al'Akir gain something like +1/+1 for each Wind Lord at the beginning of every turn until he awakens (to make it feel like he's "charging up" while you face his lieutenants) but wanted to consider text space on the main card.

I do have backup ideas in Krush and Thalnos, but would rather work in a space I doubt anyone else will mess with. Hopefully Al'Akir will be good enough haha :)

EDIT: Thinking about doing away with the immune idea, and changing it to "When this minion dies, give Al'Akir [keyword]." Biggest issuebwith making this how I want is still card text space however.

Demonxz95 - Unfortunate that the two newest Hunter weapons cost 4; guess it would depend on when the Ranger General came out. I think it's okay, but it has *zero* connection with the Classic/banshee Sylvanas beyond the "skin". Some people might frown on that.

Yeah, that that's kinda the point. It's the same character, but if you were to tell someone with no knowledge of Warcraft that live Sylvanas and banshee Sylvanas are two different characters entirely, I feel like most of them wouldn't bat an eye. This is similarly reflected here. The effect is supposed to be representative of the character in a very different way than the original card since the two cards both focus on a very different version of the character that for all intents and purposes, could basically be two different characters entirely.

And unfortunately, yeah I feel like there's probably not many good targets for it right now. Team 5, if you're reading this, then print some Hunter weapons that don't cost 4 (please).

Tavern Special: 2 Barrens legendaries + 20 Barrens packs. $24.99 CAD

    Bob's Bargain: 2 Standard legendaries + 20 Phoenix packs. $24.99 CAD

Not planning to buy either. And yeah, it said standard legendaries not Year of the Phoenix.

If you want Cenarius to be more powerful, I can do that lol:

No longer benefits minions like Shrubadier, but in exchange it benefits ALL spells. How's this?

DestroyerR - Won't be "perfectly timed" if you draw extra cards before turn 5 lol :P Still, it's an amusing card and ensures you have a solid turn-5 play right when you need it.

anchorm4n - Not my pretty Totems Taunts! I think the Pitch-Black Knight is pretty OP, as it can lay waste to many a Control player's game-plan if not obliterate archetypes outright. Indiana Ford can do the same to decks that rely heavily on certain weapons, like Kingsbane or Wrenchcalibur, although that is at least more niche than "all Taunt minions". There's nothing wrong with hate-cards, per se, but these are HATE cards lol.

R - Seems fine. I would name him something better, though, and switch to a different watermark (that's GvG, isn't it? The "Prince" effect didn't exist back then).

Longshadow - Losing 2-mana cards from your deck is a heavy price to pay, which is why Prince Keleseth had to be great to succeed. Loreseeker Cho isn't worth that, in my opinion. I also believe Professor Jones is too similar to the OG Rafaam: it's just smaller versions of his spells. Make the Artifacts more unique and I think you've got something here.

Wailor - That looks super good. "I'm doin' fine and don't need these Secrets anymore; might as well end the game!" IIRC the Mage barely loses anything from the 5-mana slot, as well (Cloud Prince being the main one), so the condition seems easy for that kind of power.

Cool idea, but as you say this would be too dangerous. Secret mages in wild can transfrom useless into late game spells into fireballs and win the game easely. Isn't it? Make it add 2-3 fireballs to your hand?!

    Longshadow
IMO, such cards ("…has no X-Cost cards…") could be much powerful then yours. You're refusing from 2-cost cards to discover a spell into your opponent's deck? Meh. Second card is similar.

    linkblade91
When it buffs Treenforcements, Landscaping and other cheap stuff, it deals nearly nothing with ultimate The Forest's Aid. Make if "start of game" or rework somehow?!

    anchorm4n
It's really hard to say about balance of this cards. But destroy all taunts everywere is OP. Indiana is better.

    DestroyeR
    Interesting effect, but it's just a 5 mana 6/5 rush…

    Demonxz95
4 mana is a good spot for hunter, there is not so many powerful hunter cards. Works better with Stormhammer, IMO. Pretty neat card.

  • Weekend Wild Hearthstone Decks - Stealer Warlock, Aggro Hunter, Highlander Rogue, & More

    Thank you!

  • Achievement Hunting: Wailing Caverns edition

I finally completed Krush Got Back using a Highlander Warrior deck. The last game was a long attrition match involving infinite Greyboughs which helped drag the game into fatigue and I even managed to win it in the end.

As for the other games, I mostly ran into various versions of the new Combo Warlock deck which is just plain stupid. None of the builds seem very good, but the fact that so many sheeple are playing it now has warped the Wild meta. Winning or losing with the combo is not enjoyable at all. I would rather prefer losing against Tickatus instead. Blizzard should nerf Stealer of Souls one way or another soon™.

  • The Great Army of Souls Tech

Take advantage before the nerf. That runs time.

Okay, back with something a little bit more applicable for the comp. This is Sylvanas. We all know her as a dark banshee queen who seems hellbent on some sort of destruction. But she wasn't always like this. At one point, she was a regular elf ranger so full of life, and this card depicts this version of her.

I wanted to emphasize the "ranger" aspect of her character with this version, though I am a bit concerned that the payoff might not justify the deckbuilding required to get it to work. I do also just generally want to see more Hunter weapon synergies.

  • Hearthstone's New Tavern Special and Bob's Bargain Standard & Wild Bundles are Now Live

Tavern Special    20 Barrens packs, 2 Barrens Legendaries               £16.99

    Bob's Bargain      24 Wild Packs, 2 wild Legendaries          £16.99

In fairness, if they are basing offerings on past for money purchases then they would be a bit starved of data for my account :P

  • Hearthstone's New Tavern Special and Bob's Bargain Standard & Wild Bundles are Now Live

My choices for anyone doing statistic gathering:
$20 Tavern Special: 2 Legends, 20 Barrens packs.
    $20 Bob's Bargain: 2 legends, 24 wild packs.

I have my favorite wild decks already. I have most of the good Barrens epics/legends...
But I missed the last two expansions... I would've loved a standard-packs bundle.

  • Hearthstone's New Tavern Special and Bob's Bargain Standard & Wild Bundles are Now Live

was excited to grab the wild bundle, and they offered me the forged and standard bundles instead.

they did this shit last time too!

it's like buying a leaf blower online and now all my ads are for other leafblowers. you morons, i'm not going to buy a set of leafblowers.

  • Hearthstone's New Tavern Special and Bob's Bargain Standard & Wild Bundles are Now Live

I don't remember buying a wild pack before. I'm mostly buying offerings from standard sets.

It is correct that I've bought the latest barren offering with the legendaries. But with that one, I've completed every missing legendary. There is no need to offer me more of that set :)

If they don't take your collection into account, they should upgrade that "custom" logic because it is failing miserably :)
