Considering how Blizzard decided cleavage was too inappropriate, I doubt we're going to get anything like a bikini babe or male equalivant. Though considering how half the men in HS are nearly naked, I could be wrong about the male counterpart.
Loreseeker Cho 2 Mana, 0 Attack, 4 Health, Neutral Legendary. While your deck has no 2-Cost cards, Discover a spell in your opponent's deck at the end of your turn.
Professor Jones 5 Mana, 5 Attack, 4 Health, Neutral Legendary. Battlecry: If your deck has no 5-Cost cards, Discover an ancient Artifact! Ancient Artifacts:
Figurine of Might 4 Mana, Holy, Spell. Give a minion +5 / +5.
Mirror of Disaster: 4 Mana, Shadow, Spell. Summon two 3/3 Mummy Zombies.
Sundial of Terror: 4 Mana, Arcane, Spell. Deal 12 damage randomly split among all enemy minions.
We saw some Classic Dragons get a new interpretation when the Core Set released - it's time for some other Legendaries to get in on the action. Progress comes at a price, however - or is that a Prince?
You must create a Legendary minion which is a re-imagining of a Classic Legendary
I think many people (my past self included) consider going infinite to never run out of gold despite multiple daily arena runs, so basically factoring in the 50 daily gold into the equation. Also, a 5,5 - 6 win average is pretty close to a break even and much more achievable than the 7-8 from the top leaderboard players. Even if it‘s not a majority, I wouldn’t be surprised to find exactly those people discussing in arena related Reddit posts.
As for new players, arena is certainly not a way to „earn“ money but you quickly get to the point were you can get a bunch of discounted packs. If only you would get a pack token and not a specific pack I would grind arena all day since it’s more useful to safe up instead of buying more Barrens packs for me rn
Yea this is pretty good, I seen you developing a lot of this Core Set over the months and though I still disagree with a lot of the choices this is still very goodo
Ladies, Gentlemen, and those of us who know better...
I welcome you to the Year of the Bear's Core Set!
That's right, I, a complete stranger (unless you're in the r/customhearthstone discord) am taking a crack at an entire custom hearthstone year! And where else to start than with the year's core set?
WELCOME TO THE YEAR OF THE BEAR CORE SET!~ Claps all around, yay is me, I've somehow made it this far through mediocrity. Failing upwards. Why Bear? I like bears. Bears are cool. This core set focuses a lot on shaking things up for classes, perhaps even more so that the Gryphon set, and includes a few overall changes:
RARITY READJUSTMENT: YotG's set features 9 Commons, 4 Rares, 2 Epics, and 1 Legendary per class as a general rule (with Warrior as an exception). In this set, we've traded in 1 Common for another Epic, as well as...
SECOND CLASS LEGENDARY: To allow class Legendaries more room to breathe as well as to allow more powerhouses per class. The classic set features 1 Legendary per class due to expansions at the time doing the same; it's about time we caught up again.
10 NEUTRAL EPICS: Why the hell are there only five Neutral Epics? Doubling the number gives me more breathing room to make sure I can get more of the techs and staples the rarity allows.
THE DAWN OF MULTI-TARGETING: That's right, fucker. Yeah, you reading this. I've done it; butchered a sacred cow. Send kind regards and/or death threats to my discord. In all seriousness, Multi-Targeting is a design space I've wanted to explore and employ for a while now, and I'm not one to worry too much on UI and programming. I understand people won't agree, though, but this is a dead sacred cow I'm willing to die on.
TRADEABLE RETURNS: (As of 7/27/21) I've decided to make Tradeable an evergreen keyword so that I can continue to use it throughout the years here.
Without any more preamble, here's the set, in class order!
DEMON HUNTER
DRUID
HUNTER
MAGE
PALADIN
PRIEST
ROGUE
SHAMAN
WARLOCK
WARRIOR
NEUTRAL
THAT'S ALL, FOLKS
Already working on the expansions and Mini-Sets that'd comprise the year, but for now you'll all just have to wait~
PATCH NOTES:
*7/27/21: Nerfed Faceless Amalgamator, fixed Ner'Zul (was never meant to be a Battlecry), added Tradeable to Mak'Gora
Yeah, i used to play solely Arena every day or every other day, but the amount of card generation that has been introduced in last few years just completely ruined it for me. Skill still matters to do well on average in a long term, but the games are just not enjoyable for me anymore.
I get where you're coming from and that is most likely why there isnt anything, so ppl wouldnt feel bad not being able to get it or didnt chase a pipe dream (for most ppl) wasting gold and/or qq about its exclusivity. But at the same time, it would be nice to have a bigger celebration than what is there right now
Nice one! Gonna try this out as soon as I can, I love me some Kael'thas decks :)
Thanks for giving it a shot! :D
Would definitely be interested to hear what tweaks work best for folks. I'm currently questioning running 2 copies of both Serpentbloom and Resizing Pouch and have had a mixed experience with Archdruid Naralex (although the refill is nice given Hunter's struggles with draw).
Nice one indeed! As Celestalon points out, still a very small elite club. I can only imagine the amount of patience needed to hit the right combos, and then pilot it without any slips all the way up. Having to restart the moment something goes wrong would certainly grate on me.
And yes, Casual Arena would certainly encourage folks to try for it more there. As long as you want to play any Ranked or even have cards for Duels, it feels terrible having to throw away gold on retrying. Good luck over there once you get to it.
Oh, man, my memory doesn't even go that far back. There is this growing sentiment among many Arena players that it's just become harder and more chaotic in the recent years. Experienced fans of the mode remain, while the more casual playerbase got Battlegrounds, Duels, and even easier access to Ranked since, spreading all over. On top of things like Discover and Rush creating far more explosive resolutions during games.
From personal experience, it does feel like I very rarely stumble upon somebody who is clearly misplaying, whereas it was quite common during the early years.

This means no Aeroponics, no Force of Nature (the non-Classic version, anyway), and no Arbor Up.

Congratulations to MathU! Pretty sure I ain't the top winner anymore lel.
On a more personal note, another instance where I was the first-place finalist, but lost. Kind of frustrating :(

Working on a couple of ideas:
2 Mana, 0 Attack, 4 Health, Neutral Legendary.
While your deck has no 2-Cost cards, Discover a spell in your opponent's deck at the end of your turn.
5 Mana, 5 Attack, 4 Health, Neutral Legendary.
Battlecry: If your deck has no 5-Cost cards, Discover an ancient Artifact!
Ancient Artifacts:
Thank you for any feedback.

Not really rare as anyone can attempt it. Rare that anyone has done it which puts it at being the 2 most difficult achievements to complete

Competition Theme: The Price Of Progress

Arkasaur and MathU both contributed to this week's theme - one for the flavour restriction, and one for the mechanical.
As always, I can be reached through Discord or here on the site via PM if you have any issues to report.

Shameless advertising: my card would be of tremendous help against that abomination that is Stealer Warlock in Wild!
Good luck everyone :)
