  • Alternate Card Art Finally in Hearthstone? Future Diamond Cards Might Get Special Treatment

I have made the same mistake many times. It's the fact that she's in the shadows! Messes with my brain.

Jumped straight here to fully support a game mode with custom settings. House Rules. It is so much fun for, say, poker, and what would amount to user generated Tavern Brawls could be awesome. Budget restrictions (or not), highlander decks with no payoff cards, Nozdormu decks, etc. Oh, ETC in any class decks. Let's get wierd.

Probably super hard to make and implement, but it's exciting to think about. Let's get wierd.

Wierd. Weird. I am having a hard time with that word. Weerd. Wired.

If they cant implement a tournament mode, I wouldn't hold my  breath for this.

I have played a lot of shaman and the lack of draw is a huge issue.

I feel like every other game I play with my shudderwock deck I am just a sitting duck hoping to top-deck something good.  And every other game I destroy my opponent with powerful battlecries and infinite value. Shaman has archetypes that work and are powerful. The issue is that they don't have enough draw/generation to get them to work consistently every game.

Every class needs some form of card advantage. Some classes are better at it than others, but no class should have zero draw. There are classes like Rogue or Demon Hunter who are very good at drawing, so they get cards that just flat out say "draw a card" on them with no strings attached. Then you have classes like priest and to some extent mage who aren't particularly good at drawing cards, but still have things to play since they get lots of card generation. Then there are classes like warrior and hunter who are meant to be bad at drawing, but they are still able to do it. Warrior gets to draw cards, but all of the draw has another requirement (usually damaging minions or putting specific cards in your deck). And hunter doesn't get hardly any draw, but they still function with cards like Tracking, Scavenger's Ingenuity, and Selective Breeder which, although they don't actually increase your hand size, help you dig through your deck to find the cards you need.

In the 6(?) years this game has existed, shaman has only gotten 10 cards with the word "draw". They are all either very expensive (Bogshaper, Ancestral Knowledge), have very specific deckbuilding restrictions (Spirit of the Frog, or anything that wants you to play murlocs), are very easy for the opponent to interrupt (Mana Tide Totem, Tinyfin's Caravan), or just simply don't draw enough cards to really be helpful Far Sight, Storm Chaser, Elementary Reaction.

If we get alternate card arts id honestly rpefer it to be just that and not be onyl for diamond cards.

I just really dont liek diamodn cards:How they look , i think they look far worse then regular and golden cards and not good a tall(and i wouldve persoanly rather had a normal or golden samuro from the tavern pass reward track instead of diamond one)

If you get Tickatus with Illucia, you will just burn your own deck lol, or do you mean before it gets corrupted?

  • Reputation points?

Wow, sounds cool :) I was wondering if this was something you wanted to implement. Snowballs event was sure very fun.

Thanks for the quick reply. Great job on the site, keep on!

  • Reputation points?

    Staff Pro

A sort of site reputation was conceptualized long before Out of Cards was even built! There are many bits and pieces that I'd like to see in such a system to make it really rock solid so it's a project that has been on the back burner.

There are also additional ways I think we could better promote each other and showcase our appreciation - another core community feature that we could use. Think Snowballs, but not pelting each other in the face :D

  • Reputation points?

Hey Flux and awesome OOC crew, I had an idea for a longer time and so I though it might be worth asking. We have up and down voting for posts, if we like/dislike the comments, and so I thought, maybe we could have some sort of "reputation" points for members too, as I´ve seen on some other forums. What if I like a member and want to appreciate his opinions/attitude/helpfulness, other than upvoting all of his comments? Maybe there could be some + reputation button (not - ofc, cause it could backfire badly) next to members avatars? You couldn´t vote twice for the same member, it could be anonymous (so people don´t feel forced to pay it back) and maybe it could be helpful in threads like trading a friend quests - you can upvote trusty member who traded with you, or you can check his reputation before trading, to know he is least likely to scam you, if he gained some reputation points.

Anyway, just an idea, what do you guys think? :)

The perfect opportunity for alternate art was with cards like Giggling Inventor.  Basically, if a card summons a specific token that is an old minion, why not summon it with alt art just because?  The Annoy-o-Tron could have been depicted as being at Boom Labs.  Same with Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk.  The Rag could’ve been the same card but art showcasing him at the Gurubashi Arena.  Then, give players ways to unlock these bits of art and a way to choose what version theyput in a deck.

well that is "enterprise business" for you... WHen you will do fix is planned ahead of time, and they don't change the plan unless there is a real force major...

  • Dean Ayala's Community Q&A #13 - Tickatus, Balance Patches, Curse of Naxxramas in Classic, User-Generated Content, and More!

I'm a Shaman OTP and this was the expansion that got me into wild... None of the standard archetypes feel good to play (I moslty play control or midrange for the record).

When I see cards like Guff Runetotem, Barak Kodobane or Tamsin Roame,  that all have effects that would have been lovely for Shaman, I'm just very bitter all we got was Bru'kan, one of the most boring Shaman legendary ever.

The new Kazakus, Golem Shaper on the other hand is extremely fun in wild with Corrupt the Waters.

Yeah we all know that Tickatus is not very good, yeah fast enough decks don't care about him, but he is so toxic...

  • Achievement Hunting: Forged in the Barrens edition

Another useful tip for Everyone's in Here! I was trying other suggestions, but couldn´t make it work. Then I went to Duels and found out this works like charm, it requires only two cards, almost no set up, apart from having no minions on your side of the board. Easy peasy.

    1.Go to Casual Duels

    2. Pick Rattlegore

    3. Pick Spiked Arms treasure weapon

    4. Build deck with Gruntled Patron (put in some card draw, armor, no other minions preferably)

    5. Turn 3 play the weapon, turn 4 play the patron on empty board (or if you´re affraid of weapon destruction from your opponent, just play both cards on turn 7, just don´t forget to play the weapon first)

    6. End turn with full board of patrons

    7. Profit :)

Note: works only if you have the treasure unlocked ofc.

  • Alternate Card Art Finally in Hearthstone? Future Diamond Cards Might Get Special Treatment

Diamond cards feel weird to me, and part of the reason is that there are two per set. One of them is locked behind an expensive achievement that most people can’t even think about getting. The other is part of the battle pass, which is the no-brainer purchase you should get if you plan to spend any money in the game.

So which is it? Rare and special, or a tchotchke that half the players own? And is it special if so many people have the exact same card?

I’ve said it before: A key aspect of golden cards is that anything can be golden, so so ones you happen to get or choose to craft will be different than the ones I get. It feels like we’re building a collection. A Diamond card feels like we’re checking a box.

It is, but I can't figure out if this card is incredibly weak or incredibly annoying. Can't be worse than Harbinger Celestia.

  • Anyone else looking forward to Diablo II: Resurrected?

Ive watched some videos on the alpha build and aside from some of the interface looking bizarrely worse than the originals, it has largely been revamped graphically so its not going to be another reforged bs incident. There are some reports of bugs, but this is an alpha so I hope blizz retains enough of their honor to not screw this up on launch.

Im definitely looking forward to it, having spent many hours in the original d2. The worts and all remake is okay as a concept, but I really hope they add in a few surprises along, like better animations. One thing definitely on my wishlist is that they do something about the attack speed tied to no. of frames rubbish in the original d2 so when something reads 'faster attack speed' it actually means faster attack speed.

Alternate art: fine, if it doesn't confuse me. I've said this before, but I mulliganned a game wrong and lost before because I still confuse Sylvanas (Hunter, people, she's a Hunter) and Rogue.

But throw 'em in there. Me smart. Other pictures good.

I love Diablo 2 but i stopped looking forward to anythings Activision-Blizzard related a long time ago.

They are like that now. But they are not always easy to get so would be nice to have something to show for it. Right now trying to get 'high Score' but would feel better if you hade something to show for it.

Guessing thats for after they sit down and discuss correct evaluation of achievements. And not easy giving proper rewards for it.

Not sure if selling the points is the right way to go but rather get rewards for reaching milestones. But then they have to be relevant so prob cant be tied to an expansion. I don't envy them for having to make everybody happy and I won't complain. But would be nice...

Reno. N'Zoth. Shudderwock. A host of defensive tools. This deck feels so smooth to play. Some interesting inclusions, such as White Eyes! Cards which typically don't see play in most other decks, but work well here. Thanks to hsWhiteDelight for the deck (https://twitter.com/hsWhiteDelight).

  • Most Fun you had with legendary cards every expansion!

I only started playing seriously during the Witchwood, so I'll start from there.

    Witchwood

Baku the Mooneater and Genn Greymane, no doubt. I played a lot of Odd Warrior and Even Paladin during those days. I freaking loved my Odd Quest Warrior with Sulfuras, it was a blast to play.

    Boomsday Project

Dr. Boom, Mad Genius. I was fortunate enough to get him as my free legendary, and as a Warrior main, I played him a ton until he was nerfed.

    Rastakhan

Zul'jin. Crafted him in Day 1 to play in my Secret Hunter deck (which was dominant at the time), and I just loved him as a late-game bomb. I played a lot of Hunter during those times in my quest to get the golden portrait.

    Rise of Shadows

Blastmaster Boom. I might be in the minority, but I loved the bomb mechanic, and Boom was a big part of those decks. I eventually reached legend with the deck in the Scholomance meta.

    Saviors of Uldum

Unseal the Vault. Quest Hunter was a blast to play.

    Descent of Dragons

Deathwing, Mad Aspect. One of my favorite cards ever, the design is just so good.

    Ashes of Outland

Altruis the Outcast. Absolutely loved this card, and its pre-nerf version made for some insane damage turns with DH.

    Scholomance Academy

A bit of a tie between Doctor Krastinov and Mindrender Illucia. I was playing a lot of Bomb Warrior during this meta, and it was fun to piss off opponents with a well-timed Illucia.

    Darkmoon Faire

Il'gynoth. Those surprise lethals with Aldrachi Warblades never get old.

    Forged in the Barrens

Xyrella so far. She's just an amazing card in Control Priest, being able to wipe out a large board while dropping a 4/4 just feels good. Great art too.
