Wait, does Reckless Apprentice work with Frost Giant? If so, that would be quite insane. I assume not though, since Frost Giant does say that YOU need to use the hero power.
Probably not worth throwing into just any old Mage deck, but with a decent build around this could work as a good finisher or to turn a game around if you're behind. Overall, a pretty great card.
This is an extremely powerful card, as long as it gets the proper synergies (we already have one with Reckless Apprentice). 10 damage to ALL enemies is either a massive board wipe or lethal face damage, or even both. Very appropriate power for a 10-drop, seems like we haven't had one in a while.
I might try some Mage in the next expansion if this gets more synergies. I hope the animation will be sick.
Seems weak to me. Obviously its a bit soon to say that without seeing the other cards. I do find it odd that the name suggests beast synergy might be a thing in DH.
Joking aside, I definitely don't think this will be as strong as our mysterious friend, but it might be a fun to try out secret paladin for a bit again. I'm most curious to see what other potential interactions there will be, such as if you can silence the soldiers to prevent it from returning as a secret, or if you can play a secret while the same secret is currently a soldier (I would assume yes, but you know what they say about assuming).
I mean, this is the first day of the reveal week. We really should wait and see until all the cards are revealed first before judging the power level immediately.
At face value though, I think it's pretty good. You can just pull the secrets with Inconspicuous Rider, even if that's a very low value play.
Razorfen Beastmasters are existing mobs in World of Warcraft. They just took the name from an established mob.
I actually like that the card has nothing to do with Demon Hunters thematically. I was kind of worried last year when every single one of their minions was blind, holding a glaive, and covered in tattoos. It really felt like they didn't know what to do with the class aesthetically other than repeat the same thing over and over. Not a good sign for a permanent addition. I'm glad that they're not tying themselves strictly to one design and they can pretty much add whatever is in theme for the expansion.
I enjoy seeing some fun control tools get printed. My first thought was to try to build around it. The problem with that is that if you include too many high cost spells then the early game suffers, but if you don't include enough then there is a chance you'll draw all the spells before you have a chance to play this. It's a risk either way, but it will be fun to see what ends up being the best build.
Sweet! That's a fine card, Hunter has oodles of 3-cost beasts with deathrattle and plenty of ways to proc them. I can't wait to experiment with this in Wild. It's just the sort of curve-defyin---
Interesting. If hero power Mage does come together, this and Fallen Hero might feel a bit like Control Paladin used to with Equality and Consecration. There'll have to be some draw there to glue all the pieces together.
It's fun to see Kazakus making a comeback, even if it's in a different form (I still want them to print a card with Kazakus in his dragon form). I don't know if this one will be as good as the original Kazakus, but I'm excited to give him a try!
If this were in any class besides Mage, who has gotten other cards like this, I'd really hate the effect. Not the power of it, but the idea - Hearthstone has long strayed away from Shadowverse-y single card OTKs, which I love and appreciate. Most Hearthstone OTKs require a long game and several cards. Heck, even C'Thun requires other cards and quite a long game to bulk up to killing potential. Anything close to a giant 7 or 8 mana game-winning bomb printed with intent to speed up the meta feels disgusting. This isn't there yet by far, but it scares me. I hope that never happens.
Wow. They finally freakin' printed Secret Paladin support that WORKS!
To those folks irked because your secrets won't proc - they will, unless all the 3-3s are killed at once! Once one is killed, say, an Avenge will pop out and the train will begin. Better yet, your opponent can't check all of your secrets with one attack, forcing them to hope, pray, and trade. This doesn't circumvent your secrets, it makes them even harder to deal with!
He seems underwhelming, really. Original Kazakus was not an extremely strong card - it was played because Highlander decks had other strong payoffs and because it could grant resource-starved classes a sweet, sweet extra board clear or polymorph. Going by speculation, it seems like this card will offer neither of those payoffs, and as such I think it's pretty much useless, especially so when you consider how good 4-cost cards tend to be.
New Demon Hunter Minion - Kurtrus Ashfallen
Makes DH even stronger
New Demon Hunter Minion - Razorfen Beastmaster
Seems like not very strong
Blizzard Reveals Two New Forged in the Barrens Cards for Mage - The Legendary Mordresh Fire Eye & Reckless Apprentice
Wait, does Reckless Apprentice work with Frost Giant? If so, that would be quite insane. I assume not though, since Frost Giant does say that YOU need to use the hero power.
Mordresh Fire Eye
Probably not worth throwing into just any old Mage deck, but with a decent build around this could work as a good finisher or to turn a game around if you're behind. Overall, a pretty great card.
New Mage Minion - Mordresh Fire Eye
Potential game-winner if can make use of cost-reducing cards
Kazakus, Golem Shaper
I think hunter mage and rogue can do without 4 drops

Cannonmaster Smythe
Mysterious Challenger, is that you?
Joking aside, I definitely don't think this will be as strong as our mysterious friend, but it might be a fun to try out secret paladin for a bit again. Day 1 Recap of Forged in the Barrens Card Reveals - All 7 New Cards!
Probably the first time I've ever said this, but I'm actually excited to see the demon hunter cards. I'm a real sucker for deathrattles.
Day 1 Recap of Forged in the Barrens Card Reveals - All 7 New Cards!
The name that makes it seem especially off
Primordial Protector
I enjoy seeing some fun control tools get printed. My first thought was to try to build around it. How the Forged in the Barrens Card Reveal Season Will Work on Out of Cards
Oger gud.
New Paladin Minion - Cannonmaster Smythe
Don't know what to think about this card right now, probably a meme card but need to wait to see the rest of pally cards
New Demon Hunter Minion - Kurtrus Ashfallen
That's a fine, fair tempo card (for a legendary). It's nice to see that positioning may matter a bit more in the future.
And handbuff exists, though it feels weird to say that while discussing Demon Hunter.
New Demon Hunter Minion - Razorfen Beastmaster
Sweet! That's a fine card, Hunter has oodles of 3-cost beasts with deathrattle and plenty of ways to proc them. I can't wait to experiment with this in Wild. It's just the sort of curve-defyin---
Sorry, what's that?
What? It's a Demon Hunter card? WHY!?
New Demon Hunter Minion - Razorfen Beastmaster
can make some shenanigans with some discounted cards from Skull of Guldan
New Mage Minion - Reckless Apprentice
Interesting. If hero power Mage does come together, this and Fallen Hero might feel a bit like Control Paladin used to with Equality and Consecration. There'll have to be some draw there to glue all the pieces together.

It's nice that I think I'll enjoy the broken card, for once. Elementals, randomness, and big guys? Swoon!
