Holy shit, this thread is so god damn slow. And so is the competition for that matter.

I guess second round of feedback

Felfire Juggler is a neat Outcast fixer. Although most Outcast cards are cheap, it can end up screwing up Altruis the Outcast, although that just means that you probably don't run those two cards in the same deck.

This version of Grim Fortune is looking good.

I don't think being able to "steal" minions with Puppeteer is necessarily a problem. Priest can already do this with Shadow Madness, Potion of Madness, or Cabal Acolyte, and just conventional mind control effects in general.

This version of Opening Act is definitely better.

I highly doubt that most people will get the mime reference without being told. That said, I make jokes all the time to amuse myself more so than I do for other people, so this is probably fine.

I am slightly worried about its ability to create huge damage out of giant boards though.

I appreciate the idea of Sideshow Shuffler, but I feel like its effect would probably be more frustrating than it is useful because it relies on a lot of randomness, and you can't take advantage of a good order of cards you have until it dies because playing a card will just shuffle the hand again.

Strongman's Hammer is extremely flavorful, but it's also very OP to me. Being able to get three 4/4 Taunt minions and a 3/3 weapon seems way strong for 4 mana.

Blizzard stated before that they don't want priest to have face burst damage, so it's probably centered about board control.

True, but now that Velen was HoF'd and smite was changed to minion only, a "hero power deals 2 damage" isn't that big a deal.  Hunter has it as a baseline after all...as long as they don't print other cards that somehow alter the hero power to do more damage (for priests) then it's not going to break anything down the road.  I really do miss shadowform though.  such a fun card

  • Blizzard Discussed Changing Warlock's Hero Power In the Early Hearthstone Days

I mean to be fair, I'd be fine with warlocks having the hero power from duels (or maybe something a bit more toned down, 1 cost HP: discard 1 card at random in your hand and draw a card)  It at least does keep with the theme of warlocks "sacrificing for power"...

Since I'm not sure anymore if my mime card isn't too close to Chameleos, I've been thinking about Demon's idea to give it a silence effect. After all, that's the major trait of a mime: they're mute/silent but exaggerate everything else. This is how I'd translate this into a HS cars:

Better or worse than the original idea?

    I prefer the original idea.

It's easy to tech in cards that ravage Big Priest. Almost every class has a solution and unlike a weapon/secret tech, the tech cards to wreck the resurrection pool are still useful in most matchups.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

Fedrion has it 99% right, so I'm counting that as correct.

It's Cogmaster's Wrench! anchorm4n got Hobart and Fedrion got Zapp, but the first one was the Cogmaster himself (played in Mech Mage). What connects them is that they all have Cogmaster's Wrench in the art (well, Cogmaster technically doesn't, but he's literally in the weapon's name).

Why have they banned some evolve effects, but not all? I had a quick, easy win yesterday with Explosive Evolution and Bogstrok Clacker, among other things.

In blizzard's own post under shaman Card draw is listed as the class' weakness actually.

I'm not asking to remove all weaknesses from a class but I don't see the harm in keeping some tiny elements of it around. Shadowform isn't efficient enough to promote face damage strategies on its own so I don't see its harm. The same way that mage's Mirror Image is not an issue despite taunt being a mage weakness.

  • Hearthstone's Shadow Priest Is Returning! A Different Direction for the Community Favourite

There's an argument that card draw is more 'essential' than direct face damage, and that they can therefore be treated differently. There's also the fact that priest kept Mass Dispel despite their card draw being cut back substantially.

But the easier answer is simply that shaman didn't have a complete rework of Basic and Classic like priest did. If Far Sight is still around in Standard in April, then come back and say "I told you so" :)

By killing Priest's minions you are just digging your own grave as then they are able to resurrect all the copies that had died. If it was just one minion dying and being revived, you could fight for board and try to overwhelm them in a meaninful way. It would also make the tech cards much more impactful (if you decide to hamper your deck by tech cards, you should be rewarded - rn it works in like 50% of cases).

It's their limitation not weakness, besides that it's the only card draw that's currently run in shaman.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    I think it's Wrenchcalibur

For the previous hint I take: Cogmaster's Wrench + Hobart Grapplehammer + Zapp Slywick

The first one, really no idea if it was a good card actually, but it would fit the theme.

The second one I take from @anchorm4n because it didn't come to mind at all.

And I'm almost sure of the "nasty rattles" part is focused on killing Baron with Zapp.

Maybe the first one is Blingtron 3000?

  • Hearthstone's Shadow Priest Is Returning! A Different Direction for the Community Favourite

It seems to be an inconsistant application of their rules. I get that direct damage is something priest is supposed to be bad at but to not have them have a single card that can do it feels stupid if shaman can keep [Hearthstone Card (Farsight) Not Found] despite their weakness being carddraw.

Wow, that's still tough even with these hints.

It took me longer than I'd like to admit, but the second card should be Hobart Grapplehammer.

I'm pretty sure the first card is from Goblins vs Gnomes and I wasn't around at that time. There are five Weapons in that set plus 5 more cards that interact with Weapons. The one that stands out to me is Tinker's Sharpsword Oil because it still sees some use in Kingsbane Rogue lists. No idea if it was good in the past.

The third card should be from The Boomsday Project and there are only 6 of those in Battlegrounds, but I never play BG and have no clue which of them could be considered a tech card. None of them prevents Deathrattles at first glance. Annoy-o-Module has a weapon in hand, but that's all I found which might have anything to do with Hobart Grapplehammer.

Conclusion: Tinker's Sharpsword Oil + Hobart Grapplehammer + Annoy-o-Module = no idea. Probably Nr. 1 and/or Nr. 3 are wrong.

Again, I hope my thought process helps someone else. I'm out of my league here because of the GvG meta and BG parts.

TL;DR: it is indeed too long don't read it, nothing too interesting just bunch of generic statements...

  • Game Developer, Dean Ayala on Dual-Class Cards in Hearthstone - "Good Chance We'll Revisit Dual-Class"

    Quote From AngryShuckie

I have always been a pessimist when it comes to dual-class constructed. It's fine in Arena or Solo stuff, but as soon as you give players complete freedom with deck construction you open up Pandora's box when it come to game balance. Sure, there's a huge number of cool things you could do, but a few of those will be so unfair that they they'll quickly establish a meta that is even less forgiving than Wild.

The heart of the problem is that HS has always been designed and balanced on the basis that the classes are distinct, with the only exceptions being:

    • Neutral, dual- and tri-class cards, which are themselves balanced with their availability to classes in mind.
    • Thief rogue and priest cards, which don't give you anywhere close to complete control on what you'll get.

Breaking this fundamental part of HS's design is huge deal, and would take a lot of effort before it was the paradise of creativity it first sounds like.

Don't get me wrong - I'd love to be in the world where dual-class constructed existed and worked dreamily well - but I just don't see it happening.

The fear is real, DualClass is 100% going to break the meta!
But what if constructed and wild are already doing it?!

    Let me explain my POV:
There are cards (especially mana cheats and swing cards as Box, Il'Gynoth, etc.) that shouldn't exist at all in a competitive environment.
Removing those cards will result in much healtier meta and fairer game experience.
Now, Imagine combining Mage stuff & Sorcerer's Apprentice w/ Rogue... OBLIVION!
The real problem has always been Card Design, whatever the mode is...

My idea has always consisted in a separate Dual-Class Standard & Wild Costructed Modes feat. collection's bans and base set-reworks.

It did. Was probably one of the few cards that can effectively counter Spreading Plague back in the day for aggro and midrange.

I think Animated Broomstick is fine as is, but as apparently they are considering nerfing it, here is my suggestion: Rush. Adjacent minions have Rush. This would be most in line with the flavour of the card and I think Hearthstone could use some more cards where positioning matters. Alternatively, they can make it a 0/1 or remove Rush from the broom itself, which are both smaller nerfs than my suggestion and keep ETC Warrior alive.

    YEAH!

  • Rewards Track: Current progress

I play a lot of alt characters, who on the old system pretty much did their daily quests and nothing else.

A few of those alts only play till they get their 5 wins per month also.

The new system I have a few alts that have played ALL weeklies and dailies every week.

I have not payed for the pass on any of these characters:

My most advanced character (my main basically) is at 42

My least played is at about 27 and the others are somewhere in between, mostly in the 30's somewhere.

generally I'd find that the lesser played one's would do all of the dailies and about half the weeklies, that is it would take 2 weeks to complete the weeklies.

Maybe the next enhanced power will heal an allied minion for 2 OR deal 2 damages to an enemy minion to reflect that control tendency

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    No.

The riddle is probably too vague, my bad. It's been a while since my last one. Some big tips coming up to make things clearer:

    Show Spoiler
The first card was a part of a powerful meta deck in the distant past. I'd say it's still an OK card (but I'm no pro), just really unsupported.

The second card gave a buff to all cards of a certain kind, but it wasn't in either of the two mech-centered expansions.
(Think: what expansion actually has a technological device in its name?)

The third one is in Battlegrounds, but mostly used as a tech card.

If you look at the three cards, you can see that something appears in each one indicating the final card.

  • Game Developer, Dean Ayala on Dual-Class Cards in Hearthstone - "Good Chance We'll Revisit Dual-Class"

The flavour of "adjacent" classes is excellent, and they really highlighted the common synergies between those classes.

I love dual classes cards in general, especially that feeling when you open a powerful legendary that is potentially usable in two decks!

I wished for and got Ras as my first one: whilst it was never a top meta card, it is very powerful and I had a lot of fun playing with it in both Mage and Shaman!

  • Game Developer, Dean Ayala on Dual-Class Cards in Hearthstone - "Good Chance We'll Revisit Dual-Class"

I like the fact that the little icons that show the dual class icons look like dominos
