- Paladin still remains good, but I wouldn't be surprised if pure just gets dropped. Maul wasn't just good because of the buffs its also practically the only early initiative card paladin's got. Now if they start turn 2 they're practically sitting ducks to impact 1 drops like Arms Dealer. There's likely a non-pure aggro-burn paladin somewhere.
- Nerfing Hope of Quel'Thalas is practically a joke. Not that Im asking for hunter to get nerfed, but what is the point of reducing 1 attack off a weapon that rarely gets played, of which its attack damage is never the reason to play it? Free 1600 dust is what this is.
- When I opined that pozzik is OP, and team5 making the right decision to nerf him, I wasn't exactly expecting this slight tap on the wrist. Nerfing attack by 1 is decent, but seriously, that's not what makes pozzik an OP card. Team5 is right in saying that the card is criminally underplayed, because this card can literally be played in any deck and still make a positive impact.
- Stheno is dead. Unfortunately, Predation paid for her sins.
- Rhythmdancer Risa remains a poor card to me. Spending 4 mana to deal 3 damage in todays hearthstone is practically conceding.
- And Im not altogether convinced team5 knows what to do with duels. Seems they're just nerfing all the good treasures/passives, banning cards, so the whole game mode gets mellowed down to who can amass the least shittiest deck at the end. Bring back the original buckets can help a bunch, because Im getting sick of having half my deck being counter productive to what I wanted it to do.
Totally agree, the website has been taking it's toll with the integration of multiple non card related games. I've been trying to get the HS Collection tab fixed for several months now, and it still isn't fixed. And the news articles are being released pretty late, every major hearthstone website has already posted the most important information before outofgames makes its article.
Would like for outofgames to focus on not letting the card content die out.
For me, the interesting macro is decisions like army composition, when to expand, when to get upgrades etc. "Decisions" being the key word here. The things I described that I don't enjoy aren't decisions: there is an optimal way to do them and you either execute that well or you suffer.
Reportedly the most popular mode in SC2 is the co-op missions, which is relatively relaxed compared to PvP. That suggests to me that players are still into base building and controlling armies, but just don't want to deal with the stress and multitasking requirements of competitive play.
Adding the rank floors (when they switched to the star system). It felt a lot better to pilot a fresh (or meme) deck knowing that you wouldn't tilt yourself right back to the beginning.
I guess the main intention was to reincite the joy to play as the game felt stale and grindy. With achievements you still have some goals to achieve.
But they definitely missed the opportunity to actually reward the players with cosmetics that are ONLY available by getting certain achievements. Instead they opted for watering down other achievements and promoting the newest expansion by giving points and experience.
Its funny because all those which you pointed out are valid arguments on the problems with RTS and yet it is precisely what makes the genre compelling to its fans.
C&C4 tiberium twilight famously attempted to reduce or remove this problem by essentially removing much of the macro aspect of the game and it got riddled with negative reviews, citing amongst many other issues, the fact that it simply doesnt feel like playing an RTS game.
I think blizz actually had a mod that automated much of the macro for those interested. But ultimately I think RTS is simply no longer in the imaginations of most gamers nowadays. Its more exciting to be part of the battle than simply looking over it.

Perhaps it was a mistake to mix.
Why? Because the WC3 part makes sure the units stay alive while they sit there and shoot at each other.
Many RTSs have huge armies dying in seconds. Large explosions, big splats, and screaming. Spectacle.

Yeah you literally have no idea how to play if it's not spam one drops, open attack, deny opponent open attack value with pings.
Rinse and repeat
I'm just watching in amazement like what are you doing?

Is that the only way you know how to play?
Like why does your deck even matter at that point every region has 2/1s to spam
