  • Hearthstone's Twitter Teases Upcoming Balance Changes - Nerfs to Paladin & Hunter, Buffs for Mage

I was patiently waiting with my stack of 20'ish copy of Disco Maul, as I assumed it would be nerfed; not disappointed!

  • Hearthstone's Twitter Teases Upcoming Balance Changes - Nerfs to Paladin & Hunter, Buffs for Mage

too poor to impact significantly Paladin

Then I do not understand Pozzik nerf ... to me it's a quite stupid card ... in several cases backfiring

Hopefully I still have the bow. But pretty sure I dusted it quite awhile ago. Sad to see S'theno go as somehow I know she's gonna sleep with the fishes. Risa highly likely will go to 4 as she's way too slow at 5. You want her to help clean the board/keep the board under control between Hero attacks.

  • What would you say were the biggest changes in HS history?

(!) Talking about the main playmode (so no BG/Mercs/Brawl)

I recently reconsidered, that Quests were actually worded "Win x games with classes Y/Z" not "Play (...)" and event though this change was some years ago, I feel like this wasa massive change to the better. So I wondered what the biggest changes in HS history were so far. For better or worse, concerning gameplay, meta, playability ...

    So:

    * Reworking the quests to award playing, not winning

Other changes that come to mind (some surely self evident)

    * Introducing Adventures (Naxx) / Expansions (GvG)

    * Introducing new classes

    * Making Discover an Evergreen KW

    * More than 9 deckslots ^^

  • Diablo IV Sells Over $666 Million in 5 Days, 316 Million Character Deaths Since Launch

It's also worth noting that the boosts you get from the battlepass are bound to character levels. So you can unlock the boosts instantly with money, but you won't be able to use it until you grinded with a character to a certain level. Hopefully f2p who reach that level already unlocked the boost aswell by then.

  • Diablo IV Sells Over $666 Million in 5 Days, 316 Million Character Deaths Since Launch

I know diablo 2 has a similar system called ladder back then. Never really do online play myself, I usually play my ARPGs alone.

Nice to know that diablo 4 isn't another souless corporate game where they expect you to keep paying every month. A calm before the storm? Seems like even with that big an opening its never truly going to make money the same way games like hearthstone does, despite needing tons more work to produce it.

  • Diablo IV Sells Over $666 Million in 5 Days, 316 Million Character Deaths Since Launch

I'm loving the game: cleared the campaign, so now I'm tiding up 100% completion on my original character before I consider making new ones. Some things carry over between characters - the Altars of Lilith give stat bonuses, for example. Beyond that it's Diablo, only more open world and slightly MMO-y in-that you can occasionally find other people wandering around doing stuff. You can dive in and kill the same enemies, then part ways with nary a conversation.

People whine about the expensive microtransactions, but (so far) they are only cosmetic in nature. Skins for your weapons, armor, horses, etc.

Season Passes will be a thing, and we know there will be character boosts on the Pass, but none of them will be on the paid parts of the track - they will all be on the free side. Thus, it can only be "Pay 2 Win" if there exists a way to scoot ahead in the Pass tiers. Unfortunately(?), the Ultimate version of the game does just that for Season 1, so I expect this might continue down the line.

Don't know how much you know about ARPGs or Diablo in general, but "Seasons" are when you start over from scratch and roll new characters with some kind of additional tweak to gameplay, available items, bonus powers, etc. for the duration of that Season. You can still play your original characters on the "Eternal" servers, but for some the game truly begins when the Seasons do. Season 1 will start in July.

All of this is optional...other than the $70 upfront, of course. You can buy the game then go about your business without an additional penny spent: take the free parts of the Season Passes as they come, maybe buy the expansions when they drop.

Havent played the game, so dont know anything about it. Can anyone describe what the live service and microtransactions that are currently in diablo 4? Hearthstone is already egregious enough for my taste, can't afford another live service game, would rather know what Im getting myself into when I eventually get diablo 4 myself.

  • Diablo IV Sells Over $666 Million in 5 Days, 316 Million Character Deaths Since Launch

I only amount to two of those deaths: once against The Butcher at level 28, and from some exploding corpses yesterday at level 58.

Clearly not playing as fast as some people - there are players with multiple 50+ characters already, and I've got just the one that ain't even close to 100 D: "Go at your own speed", indeed. Currently wandering around trying to 100% the Altars and renown bonuses.

  • Futher Eternal Tier List Manipulations That Don't Make Sense

    https://masteringruneterra.com/eternal-tier-list/

Jax Orn is the best deck in the game you heard it here first folks!!!

Innovative blacksmith is a cute new card

Provides the deck even more healing so you' aren't as dependent on your 5 drop

But otherwise it's just Jax orn.

Vengence, hard removal, just like any card screws them

It largely makes me realize that people just don't understand how to play LOR with an extended card pool

Like again amazing in a ping heavy meta like all the garbage we were seeing before

Just play midrange big stuff, heal past the aggro and bank on no one ever having any answers because people have been running 3 pie tosses!

Also don't get me started on plaza guardian printer. Oh no 6/6 board spam what ever will I do???

Idk shromes? Play any ******* deck that isn't garbage?

Sigh this is just sad it's like the meme Olympics over here.

Just so you know this is the equivalent of Riot printing one thralls card and everyone saying Thralls best deck in the game boys!!!

It's like no, Thralls was a good deck that you forgot how to play against and now you're rediscovering it's merits more than anything.

Yes Jax Orn is a solid midrange shell its like Ash if Ash didn't suck in eternal.

    But thats all it is.

I dont even think the new version techs frostbite anymore because it's so confident nobody is running decks that do anything right now and passive healing is enough.

Like damn Lee Sin wants a word when he dragon kicks you with overwhelm he'll be laughing.

Or remember when that no champ list was considered like the second best deck by Majin?

Where did that one go bud?

    Where's ziggs poppy?

Where did all your play garbage do nothing lists go?

Did you lose to big bad midrange with a little healing?

    Give me a break!

At least my deck was consistent, offered counter play opportunities, and doesn't get blown out by a little healing cuz of the draw.

Ziggs Poppy was an ugly meme and I'm glad it died to the most obvious midrange counter in existence.

Big dude heal face, beat little dude hit face....come on!

  • What New Games Are Coming Out Today, June 12, 2023 - Marabundle, Forgotten War, & More

    Staff Pro

Feeling things out with some different types of content. Not everything may be everyone's cup of tea, and without access to games it can be difficult to see what is worth pushing into the spotlight, but that should be something that resolves with time as things ramp up here =)

  • Diablo IV New Hotfixes Announced - World Boss Level Adjustments & More

I agree with Caro: I only have two characters at 54 and 20 so far, plus the time I spent messing around in the beta, but it's quickly becoming my favorite Diablo and I don't say that lightly.

  • Our Thoughts on MARVEL SNAP's June 8 OTA Balance Update - Nerfs & Buffs

I expected that Galactus would continue to use Spider-Man, since the change has no impact to their common pattern of Wave on 3, Galactus on 4 and Spider-Man on 5, but none of the 8 or so Galactus decks I saw today (ranks 75-80) played him.

As for Lockdown High Evolutionary -- my favourite at the moment -- I replaced Spider-Man with Stegron and Sunspot with Jeff the Baby Land Shark for a nice suprise on turn 6 if Hulk seems too risky.

  • Ben Brode & Marvel Snap Devs Provide Game Design Tips for Mobile Gaming

I really don't agree with them on everything. Sure, it fits for mobile card games, but not something else.

Also, it doesn't mean card games should be limited to 3 minute gameplay cycles. Look what HS turned into over the years. Maybe some of us like long games of around 10 minutes, IF they provide enough strategic choices. When you bring the game down to 3 minutes, unless the game is designed properly, you end up with an RNG fest or other similar stuff that forces the game to end. Fortunately, Snap was properly designed for this and doesn't feel like crap, but fun.

"Consider where players are going to play your game. They might not be giving it their full attention" - this one is quite fun! Imagine designing a game that people DON'T HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO when playing it. Seriously?! What kind of game is that?! Why do you still play it??? Why did you design it that way?? Why are you calling it a "game"?! Oh wait... forgot HS exists, my bad. Also, forgot Ben designed a lot of HS too.

Like yea, imagine designing your game to be played while pooping, so you can't give it enough attention...

Anyway, i'd take most of his advice with a grain of salt. Not all mobile games involve cards or are TCG/etc. Also, not all mobile card games should be designed for ADHD teenagers that can't control themselves for more than 3 minutes.

  • Has Blizzard Attempted to Address the Turn Time Limit Manipulation?

Its correct, as Suchti0352 said, that you're allowed to play card after card despite the animations for the previous entry still being played. The easiest to test this theory would be to have a card that draws on trigger like Field Contact, you're allowed to continue playing cards even as this minion continually draw you cards.

That said, this is entirely a flaw on blizz's part because the animations happen on our side, not server side. That is why you're allowed to play despite the animations not being resolved. And that is also why its entirely possible to cheat by using animation speedups, which is what I suspect many of these degenerates that play entire decks in one turn are doing. Having tried these APM decks myself, I can conclude its nearly impossible to do with a phone and very tight even on PC without speedup hacks.

You can mitigate this somewhat. Once you see their rope reach the end, just close the game and reopen straight away. The game will skip all those nasty animations and you can get on with your turn. This is what most low tech APM players do to skip some of the more egregious animations (like drawing tons of cards at once, or 'effect on drawn' cards) - not exactly hacking, but I cant help but feel its not fair to exploit animation skips.

I know team5 wants variety and I do acknowledge that there is a niche group out there that really loves this APM shit, but seriously, if team5 isn't committed to at least allow the opposing player to skip all this bs animations, these kind of decks simply shouldn't be allowed to exist. Its one thing to lose to this bs, its quite another to have your turn wasted by it.

One last thing. Dont hold your breathe on reporting speedup hacks. Since its a client side manipulation, its very difficult to prove. It may not even involve hacking hearthstone itself. Anything that speeds up the frames will do.

Correct call banning Fanottem from Duels. Too easy to play early in runs and is just massive with Taunt so clearing it is nearly impossible.
