My solution was to give him the passive “damaged allies have +1|+0 while attacking” on level 1 (and it upgrades to +3|+0 on level 2). That way he’s a bit like Hecarim.
As for covering the Eldrazi Titans and the members of the Gatewatch, both play prominent roles in Zendikar's lore, and given that I've written a lore guide for that plane, you can read up a bit more about them. Issue with the Gatewatch is that it's a group of planeswalkers that all have a rich backstory before they come together as a team, which is something that I would never really get around to doing unless I completely cover the character in a guide of their own. As for the Eldrazi, we know very little about them despite the fact they are a fan favorite creature type as well as prominent villains.
That being said, I will probably continue the Gatewatch Arc given that it's the most recent overarching story and establishes a ton of reoccurring characters, as well as being a great segue into the future magic story line when they finally announce Return to Phyrexia (which if they don't do soon then I'm very upset).
didn't play MTG in my life and yet I am 14/16 (the leaderboard is broken I think) in the clues good thing you can't go for stuff that's too obscure with a database of 54K cards or else I would never find anything...
anyway stuck on the tentacles one (even google didn't uncover this tentacled card yet)
and the one that makes you scream or be happy?

saw a clue about it being a weird sorcery with a holiday name.. but I didn't get it.
it was fun looking for the clues anyway I don't know is it rude to ask about hints as a none MTG player?
Sorry guys and gals, I'm having a nice 60 hours week, fighting covid in a task force at my working place. On top of that, I hardly ever play Battlegrounds. If inspiration strikes tomorrow, I'll slip something in, but that won't be of any quality. I'll participate in the voting, though!
Amazing job Echo :) I like this story for its creative twist on the genre -- who would have guessed that a vampire was a good guy and created an angle?-- and for the fun of just having an entire world fit this theme. I'm happy to finally start understanding some of the lore of MTG, or at least one of the worlds in its multiverse. One thing I'm not sure of is who these titans and gatewatch people are. Have you written about them yet and I haven't found it, or is this something to be sill covered?
My $0.02: the current problem is Vlad requires moderate investment (not easy to level, costs respectable mana for L1 vanilla stats, and really wants a fair amount of your deck to snergize with him) for only moderate payout (does minor damage to nexus; self-damage often hurts as much as it helps due to defender deciding blocks; L2 for is nice but rarely game-swinging). Any improvement comes down to 3 forms:
Reduce the direct investment by either making him easier to flip or make his L1 form better (I honestly don't know why L1 Garen has regen but L1 Vlad doesn't).
Reduce the indirect investment by giving him better synergy cards -- problem with this is as Steve Rubin frequently points out, if you make followers more effective they usually just find their ways into other decks (re: Crimson Disciple)
Improve the payout by making his L2 form better. This personally is my favorite option -- I'd like to see L2 Vlad drain the entire battlefield a la Tarkaz instead of just allies such that the awkwardness of min/maxing blocks is shared. Alternatively, you could also add something like "Passive: whenever an ally survives damage, give it +0|+1" so that the Blood Pool at least will never net negative.
This issue was resolved, and then broken again. Apologies!
I've got an update going out in a bit (I'll update here when it is live). The collection manager shares the same tech our deckbuilder has and I made two breaking changes to it. After the first one was made, I didn't update the collection manager due to forgetting about some shared code (that's why this thread was created) and then shortly after that was fixed, another breaking change was made.
Although the two share features, they only do so on the backend but not the frontend. Getting them more in-sync with each other on the frontend would be so great, though, the odds of us making a breaking change again in the future is so slim. We just completely revamped some internal APIs to help with the support of Duels.
If it has it probably was from legends of runeterra itself, some champs are just in a limbo(even rioters said they will adjust seraphines lore that just came out)
I wholeheartedly agree. Skip the older videos though, Riot has been rewriting a lot of champion lore and most of the old ones aren't accurate anymore. I'm almost certain even Elise's lore above has had slight modifications quite recently.
Not sure if It's allowed to share links here and if it's not do let me know so i can edit this comment.
For those who are interested in the League/Legends of Runeterra Lore i highly recommend looking at Necrit youtube channel, amazing lore channel that explains it and reads the stories that come out into the world of league. https://www.youtube.com/user/Necrit94
Pretty great article. Havent realized that Kalistas spears are actually driven through her lol! Always kinda assumed she was holding them in her hand on the picture. Played Kalista in LoL too and never noticed :D
Yeah, Magic has some amazing lore, it's just always a pain when it comes to actually find it since it feels like WotC goes out of their way to make it hard to decipher it. They've done books in the past, they have these 'story spotlight cards', which are cards specifically designed to tell you apart of the story, and then they just started doing articles online, which is probably the best form.
For a little behind the scenes on this article, I knew the basics of Innistrad's story for the first block (this being everything leading up to Avacyn going insane), yet I wanted to still dig around to see if I could find any more details. This led me to spend 3-4 hours digging around in WotC's article archive trying to find all the relevant articles, which is frankly pretty stupid, especially when it is for probably the 2nd most popular plane in the history of the game, which you'd expect information to be readily acceptable for.
However, part of me also likes how difficult the lore is to find since it makes finding the smaller stories all the better. Things like the Delver of Secrets subplot, the Tuktuk one from Zendikar, and the recently made Toggo are all cases of great world-building that since it is so easy to overlook, it makes finding them feel special.
Oh and some of the books are actually pretty decent as well, though the recent ones have been somewhat questionable for sure. Greg Weisman did a pretty good job of making the entire Nicol Bolas arc end awfully.
Although, based on the MTG story, the couple from the hint I can assure you this couple is not living Happily EverAfter. actually is living happily ever after.
Lich was kind annoying, because their are 2 liches in the word search, while the word lich is only supposed to be in the puzzle once. Pretty spooky! But other than that, it was fun! I'm loving these!
