18th October update: ScarletHS' WILD Odd Hunter: 3 Damage Hero Power OP! (Scholomance Academy) (1080p)
Thanks to ScarletHS for this awesome deck. An aggro deck for fast games. You know in the first few turns whether you are winning or losing. The 3 damage hero power is awesome. Just hope you don't face many Priests!
It's been a while, but the new expansion brought at least one new quest:
Name
Description
Requirement
XP
Mended Wounds
Heal damaged allies.
0/15
1000
Additionally, they seem to have adjusted Loot N' Pillage, since I got the 1500 xp version with 0/9 requirement (was 0/11). I'd expect they have lowered the 0/7 requirement of the regular version as well, but haven't seen it yet.
Can Blizzard just change the fucking damage system in Battlegrounds already? By turn 10 over half the lobby is dead and the actual decision making only really starts around turn 5/6, which means that every game half the players only get to play for about 5 turns. It's been like that for months for god's sake.
Reduce token damage to 0, increase hero health, reduce minion damage to 1 while reducing hero health to compensate, make the first couple turns against bots so you get to safely build up your starting comp, whatever JUST DO SOMETHING BLIZZARD OR AT LEAST GIVE US AN UPDATE ON WHAT YOU'RE DOING.
Edit: Ah great I just went 7th in a game with one of the strongest builds I've ever had at that point in the game just because I kept losing matches where I had <20% chance to lose. Fuck this shit.
There are currently a total of 3 boardwipes in the game that deal with soraka kench which are The Skies DescendThe Ruination and Reckoning all of them are universal unit counters and deal with ANY units that do not have a form of recursion/spellshield on them so saying that they are "vulnerable" for them isn't saying anything.
The actual weakpoints that are Culling Strike and fearsome are quite polarising because there are many decks out there that do not care about culling strike at all, unless you play forstbite builds -> the old ashe noxus build and there are many decks that will crush your fearsome spiders with ease so...
My expectation is that we will end up with a meta where you get forced to play ashe noxus or the healing package. Yet i still wait for a cheesy Stargazer build to come up and annoy everyone...
I'd say it is quite signicant that the deck is weak to the Reckoning and generally weak to Nox/Freljord. That means that the deck has a hard counter, and Nox/Freljord can hold its own against a lot of other decks. Regarding Culling strike it could easily be a stable if Nox/Freljord with Ashe becomes a thing again.
I'd say Fearsome is in a pretty good spot this meta. I am not using the spider build but rather the Nightfall Diana/Nocturne build. There is a surprising amount of decks that use followers with 3 and 2 attac, and that means you can burst them like crazy. E.g. I played against a pirate deck and bursted them for 14 HP the turn I played Nocturne, I bursted Trundle/Asol for 18 or 20. And of course it is relevant to say a deck has a counter. If deck A is countered by deck B, and deck A becomes a meta deck, then deck B becomes a meta counter and can help you climb.
Playing one game should be enough. No confirmation if the cards will be unavailable after the event but personally wouldn't take the risk if you really want to get them.
Is one game of Rexxar's book of heroes sufficient, or do you have to clear the whole adventure? I thought it was the latter, but this is saying otherwise.
Do we know for sure it won't be obtainable once the Masquerade Ball ends?
This would've been so much better if it restored equal to the spell's cost (maybe change the character to someone other than Chromie). It's also a bit expensive.
Well Box had that asterisk that it cannot cast itself even before the generation change... but random casting was always included in this rule, just so that cards like box cannot go infinite...
Fun fact in a lot of games (lol in particular) the game designers talk a lot about how winrate isn't the thing they look at most. Eg in League tanks can have a 55% winrate because when it is that high it doesnt feel oppressive. But when an assassin has a 49% winrate but they can single handedly win the game it feels more oppressive. Both solarian and evocation may not have high winrates but when they go off they effectively they end the game a lot of the time.
Hence nerfing a below 50% deck. You want the game to feel good.

Improve pack opening discovery
There are, I think, two ways to get to the pack opener. The first via the 'cards' menu item. The second is via the widget.
Under the menu, it is the 14th(!) item down. I have to scroll to see, it goes off screen. And it will only get longer with new expansions.
The widget disappears if nobody saves a pack in 7 days.
