  • Numerical Value - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

    Feedback:

    Demonxz95
Very solid card. I like that it's not completely unreasonable in its base form (I mean, it isn't worse than Felsoul Inquisitor).

The requirement of 4 spells is also balanced, I think. Sure, a class with 0-Cost spells could play it on turn 1, but it's not that much better than the old Innervate + Chillwind Yeti, so yeah.

The main problem I see is how similar it is to linkblade's card; I hope you two don't end up stepping in each other's toes. Not sure if this'll be an issue for other people (it isn't for me).

    linkblade91
I like the oddly specific synergy with Doomhammer. That weapon needs to be at least playable, considering how relevant it is in the lore.

The card seems balanced enough, and I appreciate the thought you put into the exact numbers you ended up using.

I'm not a fan of the name (sounds a bit lame to me) and there's also the issue of it having a similar gimmick as Demon's card, although I'm not sure if it'll actually give you trouble.

As you said, it's a pretty simple card. I like it, but I don't see it winning.

Also, consider making it a Rager.

Also swapping keywords is a cool idea, but I think it's a bit too strong. Each form powecreeps Zilliax and Annoy-o-Module, respectively, which is a bit concerning if we consider how strong the former used to be.

Finally, the alternate artwork for P0NG is much better, IMO. I'd even use it as the art for P1NG, as it's better quality and seems to reflect Rush better than Taunt.

    Neoguli
Probably my favorite card of the thread.

My only (small) issue with it is the watermark, as it doesn't seem to belong to FoL. The flavor doesn't have anything to do with music and the way it combines the swap and "ammo" mechanics feels like it's from a later expansion where they decide to revisit these concepts.

  • Hearthstone's 26.0.1 Server Patch Fixes Issues With Cards, Battlegrounds, and Quest Completion

There are a few interesting points soon enough cameron boyce descendants shearling leather jacket in this posting but I do not know if I see they all center to heart. There is some validity but I’ll take hold of my opinion until I consider it further. Good write-up, thanks, and then we want much more! Added to FeedBurner at the same time.

  • Spending Gold: Golden Packs vs Normal Packs

    Pro

Not entirely accurate imo. Aren’t you guaranteed a legendary in your first 10 golden packs of each expansionas well?

  • Spending Gold: Golden Packs vs Normal Packs

Golden packs dont have pity timers, although they do have a better chance at giving out signature cards (practically legendaries). All the opening rates are the same as a normal pack.

Its likely not worth getting golden packs over normal ones, simply because you open more packs in the latter which means a higher overall chance at getting a legendary and, more importantly, epics. People often focus hard on legendaries whereas in most cases its the epics that really hurt a f2p player.

Arena/Duels isn't in contention, because their value fluctuate. A good player can expect to get back his net spend gold maybe 70% of the time, and that's just better value than outright buying packs anyday. The only downside is that you need to spend an inordinate amount of time on these platforms, which may not be a fun experience.

Ultimately, golden packs are for whales who seek completion (especially for the signatures). Its never realistically a prospect for the average player who play maybe a game a day.

  • Hearthstone's Shop Brings New Bundles to Celebrate Festival of Legends

Turns out releasing a new hearthstone expansion and a new Overwatch season at the same time is too much for the shop servers to handle.

  • Survive the Festival of Legends Launch! Day 1 Decks to Try, Freebies, and Everything You Need to Know About the Expansion

Blizz did a nice job with the "welcome to the year of the wolf's in-game messages. I don't recall the exact details of last year, but this felt like clearer and more complete info, at least on mobile.

And then I opened a signature The One-Amalgam Band, so I think my new Rokara portrait and I are headed for a menagerie deck.

  • Spending Gold: Golden Packs vs Normal Packs

The title to debate. With recent patch allowing us to spend gold into golden packs, a new opportunity has arisen. There are some points I would like to point out:

    • Normal Pack: Costs 100g, at least nets you 1x20+4x5=40 dust from a pack.
    • Golden Pack: Costs 400g, at least nets you 1x100+4x50=300 dust from a pack.

Therefore, spending a golden pack rewards you more with dust than 4 normal packs ever could. However, there is also the legendary timer to consider. I know that buying first 10 normal packs guarantee you to get a legendary but beyond that, I don't know the math. Same goes for golden pack legendary timer, what are the odds?

One can also play Arena and/or Duels, provided you're really good at it. Yet, does it really compensate for buying golden packs?

In short, what should be the best option for a regular player? Spending gold on:

    • Normal Packs?
    • Golden Packs?
    • Arena/Duels?

I look forward to hear your thoughts on this matter. Thanks for reading and I wish you everyone have a great day.

  • Hearthstone's Shop Brings New Bundles to Celebrate Festival of Legends

I was going to comment on the same thing. Apparently the only time I would give blizz my hard earned cash and they're actively making it hard to do so.

Guess what blizz, if people gotta wait in an infinitely looping virtual queue line that doesn't make any sense, they'll probably not want to buy anything anymore.

  • Hearthstone's Shop Brings New Bundles to Celebrate Festival of Legends

Infinite wait times in the Battle.net shop. I guess Activision Blizzard does NOT want my money (for the Tavern Pass) after all?

Purchases are possible via the Mobile app, but that would use my own currency instead which is a disadvantage for me.

Hmm, it seems the pre-order bundle is gone.

Why did they change it again, seems I missed that again.

  • The Pepper Thread - Share Some Good Vibes!

So, after exactly 9 years of playing this game, I´ve finally hit the Legend rank! YAY :D Not much to brag about after so long, but I´m sooo happy right now! I´ve hit D1 3 stars multiple times before, but the anxiety and/or few loses always stopped me from going further. I really thought I won´t try to go for it anymore. But now I´m so glad I did! More so, it happened right before the new expansion, so I´m keeping the free Legendary reward for the launch. Heh, it´s really Festival of Legends for me indeed :)

EDIT: ....aaand the Legendary was Cage Head!

  • 🤘🎸Rock in Azeroth REMIXED! 🎸🤘 - The best Metal themed expansion returns.

Update 2: Now as promised the battle pass and the misc, my favorite part of doing a custom set, let's get going!

    Pre-order

But first, let us pretend the there's a pre-order for the expansion, I don't feel using the OG one again, so let's that by pre-ordering you will (or rather would) get acces to the amazing Darkreign cardback, along with a skin 100% designed and drawn by my me, the legendary Warlock guitarist Mattheus Darkreign!

If you've checked the original expansion, you problably already knew that Mattheus art was my work, however after a bit more studying and pratice, he received some nice upgrades. Check the new art, and once again, feel free to use it on your cards if you feel like it.

    Signature Cards

The Festival of Legends brought us some nice new signature cards, and althought I lack the skill and time to make some flashy and inotvative sig cards, I've decided to edit the Lich King ones to fit with the Rock in Azeroth flavour. So now, let's take a look at the Rock in Azeroth's Signature Cards:

    Diamond Cards

Now we have the Diamon Cards, they may be not anymated, but I assure you they look cool noetheless, check'em up:

Shaggrath: Obtainable by having 25 Rock in Azeroth's legendaries.

E.T.C, Solo Master: Obtainable by purshasing the Battle Pass.

MAttheus Darkreign: Obtainable by pre-ordering the Let's Ride to Metal Land Mini-Set.

    Battle Pass

For the Battle Pass, we'll have the following items:

The Skull Coin, Death Metal Knight Darion, Thrasher Aranna, Gothic Malfurion, Showrunner Sylvannas, Hardcore Jaina, Metalhead Uther, Punk Anduin, Edgywin VanCleef, Biker Thrall, Corpse Paint Nemsy, E.t.c, Detonator Bartender, Guitar cardback, and the Treble Clef Coin for having 145 cards from the set.

And that is...NOT ALL!!! There's a bit more things planed for the set, and that is the balance "pacht" and the battlegrounds update, so once again, thank you for taking a looking at my work, and see y'all sooooooooon.

  • Eternal Is The Way LOR is Meant To Be Played!

Also in case you're curious there is a precedent for the technique I'm referring to.

    It's called mismatching in MMA

Basically if someone throws a punch, your counter with a grapple, if they grapple you go to the ground, etc.

You essentially never give the opponent the matchup they want and are prepared for because they will have the advantage.

    But with mismatching you do.

All the deck tracking, all the foreknowledge, all the matchup tables.

All that shit pro play revolves around is useless to mismatching in a broad wide open meta.

This is the main reason pro players insisted on standard ^ they need to control the variables

  • Eternal Is The Way LOR is Meant To Be Played!

Well first of all I'm off meta masters which literally doesn't exist.

But if you want me to whoop your ass in eternal along with everyone else I'm happy to.

Like the thing is my decks require hard counters.

If they say oh man we sure are gonna own up his illoi brew with single target denial, then I'll just say great did you tech hard enough into the aggro matchup?

Then if they tech aggro I go ramp, like this is objectively easy off meta climbing advice.

Well not easy because no one but me seems to be able to do it.

Thank you for the effort Flux!

  • Festival of Legends

Fairly confident in our Rager's award nominees, the rest seems as accurate as rolling dice : traditional !

  • Eternal Is The Way LOR is Meant To Be Played!

I kinda wish you have something more to back up your confidence, like perhaps results of your tournament appearances so that people can better gauge your accolades. Then, based on you proving your worth as one of the best LoR players through measurable success, people may be proven wrong. But for now these are barren words that make people think you're way up your ego.

  • Survive the Festival of Legends Launch! Day 1 Decks to Try, Freebies, and Everything You Need to Know About the Expansion

I'm super psyched to see this rotation.  I wasn't the biggest fan of Hydra.  I'm hoping that this year will have some interesting mechanics and have more overpowering cards and less overpowering decks.
