Yes, I agree. I think the worst worst ever is the one with each turn discoveries. This takes forever. I wonder if there is any one who really enjoyes these slow and boring brawls...
Nice one, Corrupt the Waters is correct! I must admit I didn't know about the part you edited in. Everything else was exactly right. "say" = battlecry, "the number of the beast" = 6, "elemental" = water.
I liked how you reasoned out what was already known and put it together. Well done and welcome to the thread, I'm looking forward to your riddle!
We know it doesn't have an elemental tag, we also know it's a shaman card.
We know that "an elemental takeover" means for some force of nature, like fire or water, to 'take over' something. Or something that comes from that force.
We know the number we have to say is "6", so probably it costs 6 mana to play the card.
Now for the Beast, not the card, and its specific number... The Number of The Beast, from the book of Revelations is said to be 666. Although there are variants, such as 616 or 646. 665 too.
Sadly, The Lurker Below is not the answer... As a Beast card, it'd be perfect.
My guess is Krag'wa, the Frog - as a Beast, as a 6/4/6 cost, and also as a reference to Lord of the Flies, the "beast" is pretty important on that book, and being a frog could make it lord of the flies... idk
Or I'm trying too hard and it's Corrupt the Waters - an elemental takeover (the corruption of waters); we have to say (battlecry) 6 to complete the quest; but the part of looking at the beast is bugging me.
Edit: Actually, from the lore, once the "666 Beast" is released, it's said to corrupt all waters.... that could be it!
I have thought about this quite a bit over the years, and having lots of ramp and/or mana cheating is only really a big issue when there is lots of card draw to go alongside it and alleviate the card disadvantage. Of course druid is one of the 4 classes (druid, warlock, rogue and demon hunter) that have more card draw than they really know what to do with, so it is a genuine issue.
Similarly to Ultimate Infestation before, the card draw attached to Twilight Runner is the thing that really makes it unfair at the moment. If that card just cost 6 so it couldn't be recruited with Guardian Animals it would feel so much more reasonable, even on turn 1 (though that's still going to be tough to come back from, at least you aren't way behind on cards as well).
Well, everyone is assured to experiencing at least once, a bs druid play on turn 1-3 in this meta and it seems like you've drawn the lottery to be fked that day.
Fire Elemental? I think the specific number is 6 cause the number of the Beast is 666. Fire Elemental costs 6 and has 6 Attack, also its name fits perfectly with the first line's hint.
Nice one, you got that exactly right! The number you have to "say" is 6.
I think once the mana cheating reaches a certain level it's just not fun anymore. If there are so many different things to cheat out and just end the game on the spot it's just bad design.
This was obviously an extreme example, but what's the difference of it happening on turn 1 as opposed to turn 2 or 3?
I think stuff like this is fine as long as it is a one-in-a-million type scenario. Though I think in general Blizzard should tone down the mana cheating stuff as that is usually a big source of frustration for a lot of players. Kael'thas Druid, Big Priest, Quest Mage, all of that stuff is super frustrating because it lets you do way more in a turn than should be possible.
This is a slightly above average card. 5 mana for a 5/5 + random card is usually the type of card you try to squeeze in but ultimately cut--compare it with Avarosan Hearthguard, who provides so much more value and still gets cut from many Frejlord decks, or Greathorn Companion who in practice only exists as a product of Remembrance. However I'm willing to be bullish on Rahvun because I'm predicting Leona will provide a nice payout for playing/using daybreak cards, and this single card is giving 2+ daybreak activations.
I havent had time to play much Arena myself, so i cant give an accurate assessment, though looking at HSreplay, Priest is supposedly #2 class, so maybe you just had a bad luck or your draft came short in some way? You will know better than me if you were losing the early game and had no time to recover, didnt have enough steam to compete in the late or just lost to some BS you couldnt control.
Perhaps. Your logic does remind me a bit of Sejuani, where when Rising Tides first launched people were trying (unsuccessfully) to jam her into decks like Teemo puffcaps and Swain crimson and she was widely regarded as the worst new champion; then they started just jamming her as a 6 mana tempo play with no particular support and now she's everywhere.
Surprisingly fun. It's not a flawless meta (obviously) but there's a lot of variety...or at least there's a lot of possibilities (even if most of them aren't really that competitive)
It feels a bit like Rastakhan's Rumble. There'S your basic top tier decks that are rather annoying to play against, but there's a whole sea of tier 3 decks that are definitely playable and have their own strengths and weaknesses thanks to a good cardpool. The meta is also relatiely diverse (for now) so even if your decks suck against one or two classes you're not gonna run into them exclusively.
Also there are no legit OTK decks so value control is always an option.
I personally have a lot of fun experimenting with really stupid ideas at the moment. I spend almost 10k dust on Hunter and Druid stuff to meme a bit (I now own every HUnter legendary of the Standard cycle...i don't think that's a good thing)
Fire Elemental? I think the specific number is 6 cause the number of the Beast is 666. Fire Elemental costs 6 and has 6 Attack, also its name fits perfectly with the first line's hint.

YEAH I'VE HAD THAT HAPPEN TO ME TOO
and I played that deck all weekend and could never get my mulligan to pull that off!

Total random card gerenation ones like webspiders are defenitly worse, but yeah, this brawl feels similar
[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)
Found this thread just now and I am absolutely loving it! Awesome job, guys!!
I'm not that good at riddles, but I'll try to help...
For an elemental takeover
You have to say a specific number
Look at The Beast
We know it doesn't have an elemental tag, we also know it's a shaman card.
We know that "an elemental takeover" means for some force of nature, like fire or water, to 'take over' something. Or something that comes from that force.

The worst thing is that the 5/4 will immediately draw him 2 replacement cards
This is fine

[Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)
Nice one, you got that exactly right! The number you have to "say" is 6.
But it's not yet the card you're looking for.
The Felosophy Bundle - Get 2 Scholomance Legendaries, 10 Year of the Dragon Packs, and 10 Ashes of Outland Packs for $20
I got Forest Warden Omu and Professor Slate from Scholomance. From the packs I got a golden Archspore Msshi'fn and Kargath Bladefist. From the same pack. Guess thats ok. :)
This Week's Hearthstone Tavern Brawl is "Party Portals!" - Karazhan Portals Gone Wild
Is this brawl the contender for the worst brawl ever? Maybe it is tied with the webspiders one...

New Targon Card - Rahvun, Daylight's Spear

New Targon Card - Solari Soldier
I initially missed the "this round only" text thought it was a 1 mana 3/3 straight up
but it's only that for the first turn so it's fine...
still a good card but, not AS insane.
