To respond to your question, though, I've had this same issue. At lower ranks (or if your MMR is in the toilet), you face many bots. You acknowledge that your data is incomplete since it's only players currently online, etc. So, yes, you're right, there are a lot of bots and player engagement is probably lower than it has been in the past. However, there are still plenty of real people actually playing the game. Plus, with set rotation and new expansion coming next week, I expect those numbers to jump considerably.

I checked the live player count on playercount.com and it said 167,866 (Yes I know it means people currently online) and it said only 18% of that was American server players. I calculated 18% of 167,866 and it was just over 30,200. That is not a lot. and a lot of those numbers are bots so its not completely accurate.
I've played like 10 games in a row of bots no real players. Actual bots all the same type of name, they instantly play their cards every time and make bad plays its easy to tell when its an AI.
I don't wanna pay for an overpriced bundle for a game if half my matches will be against bots. Are the real players only in diamond?
So I'm not going to keep on harping on rotation, people are enjoying the general lack of all purpose responses in decks and familiar play patterns.
1. Play an akshan it would get mystic shotted
2. Play scissor lady that's a thermo
Now you can play those things and they will essentially always survive the turn now to swing. Good for proactive players bad for responsive players.
Well I'm in the second camp, my joy of LOR came from looking at ladder and coming up with decks that countered what people played (responding)
Now there are no responses only statements so for me that leaves me in a weird position where I basically have to wait for Eternal to turn into a real competitive format before I can play the game my way again, and that might never happen.
So long story short Marvel Snap is a pretty fun game eh?

If devs really have to nerf The Demon Seed, its text for each progress can be "Take damage from your cards X times." rather than total damage. This change may dissolve its dominance, should the issue arise, and it really looks a solid future-proof one.
Shit, Fiery War Axe has been unnerfed. Clearly warrior will start dominating wild now. We can only be relieved to know that its not in standard.
But seriously, this unnerfed is about 4 years too late.
Also, a small commentary on duels. I really think they need to either revert the changes made to the buckets, or at very least relook into the matchmaking for this thing because its getting to the point where I have to wait 5 minutes to get a game. Lose one match and that adds another 2 minutes of wait.
That change to outlander is not merely harsh, I dont see the point. Its simply not as good as the other hp. Should have been discover a fel spell straight up. Why tie it to a pointless condition of which you have to pay mana to do?
