  • Blizzard Has Fixed Tavern Brawl Illidan's Instant Win Hero Power and Missing Legendary Quest Rewards

    The deck Glaives of Fury 145 is still bugged.

  • Trial by Felfire Challenges are Live! New Legendary Quest With Free Hearthstone Packs, 9 Bosses to Defeat

    This is so stupid.  You are expected to only use Standard cards, but the bosses get Wild cards.  I get that it's supposed to be challenging but the cards that went to Wild weren't reprinted for a reason.

    I'm glad to see that they are jumping on this.  However, I cannot help but wonder where the hell is their R&D?!?! It honestly feels that since Brodie left, the integrity of this project has diminished.

    I just thought the Illidan bug was his VENGEANCE for being nerfed 4 times.

    I decided to make another card since I don't really like my current card. How does this one look?

    A 1-mana 3/3 scared me at first-glance, but thinking about it some more I guess the card is a different brand of Flame Imp. +1 Health, but your opponent gets a minion instead of 3 damage to your own face. It might turn off those who have that same initial thought process, though.

    Any thoughts on my updated Yrel?

    I really like it. The only thing that I would change, if I had to change anything, would be to make it target a friendly minion and give it +2/+2 instead of giving only Yrel +2/+2. Though I think it is fine as it is.

  • Trial by Felfire Challenges are Live! New Legendary Quest With Free Hearthstone Packs, 9 Bosses to Defeat

    I personally didn't need to think about making new decks to face the bosses, since my Highlander Mage (against the first 8 bosses) and my Highlander Priest (against Illidan) worked just fine.

    Enjoyable bosses, tho.

    The thing I didn't get is the golden Kael'Thas as reward... I mean, they already gave us the non-golden one, and none of them is disenchantable... I personally would have preferred even a single pack instead.

    OK, so I fully appreciate the situation Wild-only players might be in, and what follows is not intended to debunk your point of view: the whole matter of the right approach is subjective. Nevertheless, I would point out:

    Show Spoiler
    1. In a general setting, it is not for the people who take part in a challenge to set the rules. Indeed, a large part of any challenge is the set of rules involved, and to change them is to attempt a different challenge than the one set before you.
      1. Note limiting yourself to a subset of allowed cards (e.g. Standard in an adventure that allows Wild decks) does not violate existing rules, but extending the set of allowed cards does.
    2. The whole thing is free, so there is no difference between not playing it and it never having existed in the first place. I have never understood why people complain about free stuff, except when it is actively doing harm…
    3. … excluding Wild cards could be discriminatory if there was a reward that affected gameplay outside of this adventure. However, since the only reward is a golden version of a card everyone is given for free, neither of which can be disenchanted, that side of the argument does not really apply here.
    4. Perhaps the discrimination of being able to complete the adventure itself is the more important part? Certainly I wouldn't expect it to be possible to beat with only Basic cards, so is every new player being discriminated against? Should we lower the difficulty to allow for that? No, obviously not because then it would be too easy to be enjoyable by everyone else.

    This final point is a bit facetious I admit, but it actually holds the central argument: Blizzard cannot make a challenge mode that is a worthwhile challenge for everyone. It will always end up too difficult for some and too easy for others, because they have players whose collections range from (not even the full) Basic set up to every card in the game. What they CAN do is:

    • not have any rewards tied to it that give an advantage to some payers over others, and
    • set a difficulty that they think will present an enjoyable challenge to as many players as possible.

    In this case the Wild-only players (which is not at all the same thing as Wild players) will find it more difficult than they had done previously. OK, but if they allow Wild cards the encounters either have to be easy with them or too difficult for Standard-only players. There is no way of winning here. They made a different choice than usual, but that does not invalidate their choice.

    Tl;dr: your opinion is not wrong, but your initial suggestion that it needs "fixing" is.

    Feedback for Page 3:

    Show Spoiler

    @Linkblade91

    I like Primal Fury, it seems like it'd synergize well with attack druid and big hand druid. If you want to make it a bit more proactive, you could make it add 1 copy of Claw, Bite, and Pounce to your hand, so that you could use Pounce that turn if you don't have extra Mana.

    @MrRaphsody

    I feel like Volcano might not be a good idea, since it can affect your own board. Other than that, you card seems really cool!

    @Bigcums

    If you want the requirement to be harsher, maybe it could be "If you've restored Health 8 times this game" so that it can't be easily fulfilled with a single Lay on Hands.

    @Bannenparty

    I'm not sure about Antonidas. Basically you'd want to run him in a Warlock deck with few spells to get a slightly overstated 5 drop, which seems really weak. However, if he were 4 Mana he'd be ridiculously strong. Maybe it'd be better if he was something like a 5 Mana 5/7 with "Battlecry: Shuffle a 'Pyroblast' spell into your opponent's deck for each spell in your hand" so that he has a real downside that could be leveraged as an upside in certain cases.

  • Name That Card! - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

    Based on feedback I changed my "Mistress of Fate" card to this:

    Now she also serves the purpose of potentially disrupting your opponent's combos by reshuffling their hand. I made it a Deathrattle so it would synergize better with cards like Fel Lord Betrug and Dollmaster Dorian, and also so that her effect would be disruptable with Silence.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

    Here we go again:

    Apple initially, then approximately Pi. All behind lots of blood curtailed with that feminine Latin and a machine.

  • This Week's Tavern Brawl is "The Outlandish Burndown" Which Lets Us Play With Adventure Passives & Hero Powers

    Yeah, same. Worst part is that it's fucking boring. It's carried entirely by an uninteresting, OP hero power.

    The Hunter deck "Agression 122" is also OP, but a lot more fun to play. It can beat Swarm 67 if you draw the right minions (Charge, Rush and Lifesteal minions).

  • Teron Gorefiend

    I "accidentally" beat him with my Pure Paladin deck, when i pulled Alexstrasza from my Bronze Explorer. It was GG :D

  • Trial by Felfire Challenges are Live! New Legendary Quest With Free Hearthstone Packs, 9 Bosses to Defeat

    Cannot get past Magtheridon.

    A 3/5 every turn is just insane. Cleared the board and suddenly there are 12/15 taunts popping out.

    Completely stumped.

  • Blizzard Has Fixed Tavern Brawl Illidan's Instant Win Hero Power and Missing Legendary Quest Rewards

    Dont worry, mate. There's this deck that can kill you in T1 with the right hand, Khadgar HP on Dalaran Heist, and your spell cost blood perk, preventing you from even trying.

    I even lose to that while playing the +1/+1 zero mana twice a turn deck.

  • Blizzard Has Fixed Tavern Brawl Illidan's Instant Win Hero Power and Missing Legendary Quest Rewards

    Because why not? If you want to play with Standard or suboptimal decks, you're completely free to do so in any other adventure. No one complained in Galakrond's Awakening, because they did the right thing. Both Standard and Wild only players were able to beat the whole adventure.

    What we want is choice. To choose between our Standard and Wild decks. With Standard only, everyone is forced to use, well, their Standard decks. The thing is, many players, including myself, have few and weak or zero Standard decks. We do not have such an expansive Standard collection, because we did not need that many cards from them for our Wild decks. So, we either spend our dust on 'weak cards' (that see no play in Wild) to make those Standard decks or buy newer packs (which cost gold or money). No previous adventure required this.

    Players should be free to choose their difficulty, Wild or Standard, like previously. This is single player content, just for fun and enjoyment. You are free to experiment with all kinds of homebrew creations. Except if you do not have a near full Standard collection and ladder ready decks, as it stands now. I would like this to change, to be less discriminatory.

  • Blizzard Has Fixed Tavern Brawl Illidan's Instant Win Hero Power and Missing Legendary Quest Rewards

    Yep, looks like this, wild has a lot more cards and interesting things, standart you must play res priest or other borring standart decks, more freedom - more fun.

  • Illidan Stormrage

    Actually the same deck that defeated Lady Vashj. A quest Resurrect priest + Alexstraza

  • Blizzard Has Fixed Tavern Brawl Illidan's Instant Win Hero Power and Missing Legendary Quest Rewards

    I can confirm you are not the only one. I have been thinking these things should always have been made standard anyway because wild has too many things that trivialise the whole adventure.

    I am not even sure what people are complaining about. I beat all but the final boss with a few unmodified homebrew decks I had lying around, so it's not like it's that difficult even without wild decks banned.

    I don’t know, seems very OP that way. Don’t forget you’re making your opponent waste Mana; a 3/3/3 that read “your opponent has 4 less Mana next turn” would certainly be considered OP, and so would a 3/3/3 that did the same thing but was Immune for more than a turn and had the 4 Mana split into 2 and 2

    Sorry, I should have specified that I don't agree with making them cost 2-apiece. I think costing 1 without the complicating text would be fine.

    Am I the only one enjoying that it's not wild? My first thought was to made a MechaThun or Exodia Mage deck, this made me think it twice and go in another direction.
