I am most excited for Sanctum of All; since it can be used as a 5 color commander (and I can make any color of commander deck I want). I could also use it later in constructed to try to make a shine deck. Win/win.
Patron warrior (prior to Warsong Commander nerf) and now egg/enrage warrior is probably the hardest to play in their time.
- Its a combo deck that relies on very specific cards, but with no strict requirement for the win (you can still do very well with Warsong Commander + Frothing Berserker) so players have to both rely on information currently at hand and possible draws in the future. Not exactly easy stuff
- The deck at its best requires the player to understand the amount of damage possible currently, and what specific card can give them lethal in the next few turns. So do you swing your Death's Bite for that 4 damage to face, or hold on for patron? Do you swing now, or later? you also have to account for ooze, which can easily scupper your plans. What if there are multiple taunts? etc.
- At that time, there were some disruption cards that can easily block patron warrior like Loatheb. Also, the deck didn't exactly have the best board clears at that time so it cannot simply ignore board like how the current egg warrior has with armorsmith + risky skipper.
- Unlike other combo decks, patron and egg warrior's combo rely on damaging their own minions, so misplays are honestly very common.
- Like APM priest, this deck plays lots of cards for the win. Unlike APM priest, the damage output is finite. So you can easily dump all your cards with no straight forward guarantee for the win, and even if you do, one mistake is all it takes to complete belly up the game. APM priest has a specific sequence which means its easily memorized, patron/egg warrior does not.
Have a look into youtube. One of the notable matches I can remember was lifecoach vs trump (yes its more well known for that roping meme) Undoubtedly there are better matches, but I can't recall the exact names of the players.
There's really not a difference since this week the Gauntlet format is standard, and these are the most recent decks. I wanted to highlight some new or rising decks players might be interested in using this weekend.
The commander I'm most looking forward to using is Jolrael, Mwonvuli Recluse (needed to google that spelling). It's an ability that can start pumping cat tokens out right away.
*Not going so well right now. Just not enough mono-green draw power. Other commander's have more interactive cards currently. Still holding out hope after the rotation of the next set. Until then I crafted our favorite legendary Kitty/Doggo combo and that seems to be working out fairly well.
What commander in M21 have you been looking forward to the most?
Quite a few of the new legendary mono-colored creatures have some neat stuff going on. For me it's a hard choice between Barrin, Tolarian Archmage and Mangara, the Diplomat. Barrin is the more mechanically fun one, giving you a nice setup for some combos or stall against your opponent. Mangara though is the more versatile for card advantage. Given all the lifegain in white and ways to protect creatures, I feel like Mangara could give you so much more value and help you setup any potential combos as a result. Barrin is just going to do cheeky things once or twice a game but that's also fun. So for me it's Barrin if I am looking to just have fun and do something goofy, or Mangara if I'm looking to be serious and try to gain card advantage to always have what I need when I need to answer my opponents threats and strategies. And what's even better is if you play a UB commander deck and just slot both of these guys in for some bounce related shenanigans, especially if they call up Venser to join the party.
Okay, I thought it will be more of a challenge, but I´ve beaten all the Slithery and the Surly Bosses with the basic version of Big Druid with Alex. Wonder why did they bother banning all the Wild cards and still leave Alextrazsa.. Not complaining though, can ´t imagine killing some of the bosses from full health..
I'm tempted to go with Rin and Seri but I will settle for Mangara, the Diplomat; the main reason is that white finally gets a decent draw engine (especially in mono white this was one of the biggest weaknesses) and white players now might finally be able to construct a reasonable Commander deck; in addition Mangara also is very versatile and fits into almost any white deck. I'm looking forward to built a deck.
I wanted to play a Gruul commander and I wasn't a big fan of the current roster in Arena. A green red ramp deck with Radha as commander sounds very fun.
Greetings and congratalutions for the website, very useful for keeping updated in HS, LoR and Arena.
Which was the hardest Deck ever to be played in Standard ?
Rastakhan's Rumble's Exodia Mage was quite challenging
Doom Lord Kazzak
I took in a cookie cutter Demon Hunter Aggro deck (because I hadn't read his hero power correctly) and wound up beating him pretty easily....
Mother Shahraz
Do someone have a budget build for this challenge? I don't want to spend essence for an expensive deck.

Might be better to focus on the cat's now and add dogs a few sets later when they've got a larger cardpool
