This is my favorite wild deck at the moment because I can switch win conditions on the fly during the game by winning with either holy wrath into a shuffled Shirvallah or completing the Luther ebon blade combo.
Ok, I guess my brother must have registered some time ago and got the extra deck.
One more thing. I noticed one time that an ally being killed in response to them creating en effect would remove that effect from play. But a few games later the same thing happened and the "spell" still remained. Is it only removed when the ally is destroyed by a burst spell?
It feels great to hold off the pressure with some small annoying taunts until you can heal up a bunch with a magnetized Zilliax onto a Target Dummy (both buffed obviously) and then finish off your opponent with the quest reward.
since a legendary is on average stronger than a normal card and you are restricted to only one offs.. legendaries get too much of a plus... sure highlander decks are strong currently but so are some cheaper decks as well,
If zephrys and co. are not banned, the commander will be a no brainer.. of course it would be zephrys..
the decks in HS aren't that big anyway so having a "always drawn" card is not such a big bonus.
It could be interesting, though they'd probably have to make up some special rules. Magic's EDH has certain deckbuilding restrictions built in due to the colored lands and commander's colors, which allows for a wild variety of EDH style decks, whereas I think that in HS, people would quickly whittle down the worthwhile commanders to a quick few and just about everyone would be playing the same deck. Also, subsequent plays of the commander cost two more each time, which would knock out a lot of commanders after one play, so you're either have to eliminate that aspect, or add mana bubbles beyond 10.
I would be interested to see how they could build it though, esp since commander games are often played in groups of 4 or more Maybe a rank of specially created Boss cards that have varying abilities and their own rules, or that can be played at 1,4, 7, and 10 mana with different effects each time. Could be pretty cool.
I've never heard of this before, but it sounds like a very cool idea. I love Highlander decks, and I love a good "feature legendary" in a deck, so this sounds like a great combination.
Perhaps they could run it as a Tavern Brawl one time and then make it a full mode if it is super popular.
I've only been playing since this year, so my wild experience and cards are nil, but I like murlocs, so I'd probably choose/craft (eventually) a murloc Paladin. But tribe synergies I also enjoy, so pirste warrior. Totally forgot about her lol, my bad! To be fair, she isnt even listed on the official Hearthstone site as an alternate Hero, which is where i went to double check, so yeah :/
EDH (Elder Dragon Highlander), or as it is more commonly known, Commander, is one of the most popular game modes in Magic: the Gathering. The way it works is you pick a Legendary Creature to be your "commander". The commander doesn't go into your deck, but instead is in a special zone where you can always play him as if he were in your hand. You also build a 100 card deck, with only one copy of each card, centered around your commander.
So I was thinking, what if we had something like this in Hearthstone? You could pick a Legendary minion, and then build say a 50 card deck with only 1 copy of each card. The legendary minion wouldn't be shuffled into your deck but would instead go into a separate zone where you could cast it whenever you had the mana for it.
Decks would be really inconsistent because you are playing with 50 different cards, but you also get to pick one Legendary who you get to play every game which increases consistency. You would have to adjust the UI a bit to make room for the "commander", but I think it would be pretty fun.
The main downsides is that Highlander cards would be no-brainer inclusions, but you could always ban them in that format. I am not sure if that is the best fix, but it would solve the problem.
I am not sure if this format would work in Hearthstone, but I thought it would be fun to speculate. It may be really broken getting Deathknights on curve or always having Shudderwock whenever you need him, but it could also open up a lot of room for brewers like myself to have a lot of fun. What do you think? Could Elder Dragon Highlander be a format in Hearthstone?
This is pity. I believe I made a fun card, but unfortunately I had no idea (and there is not even a single mention) where or how should I enter my card. I posted the pic (on first page) but it is most likely not enough. Rules shoeld be clarified to participate for new visitors
Sorry to hear that, but on the "Submit your card page" it does say that you need to make the card with Hearthcards and then upload it from your computer. We do not have a dedicated system where you can create it on the site as of right now. We could potentially try and make that part more visible, since there is at least one person each week who just uploads a picture and thinks that the submission form is actually a card creator, which is not. We'll see what we can come up with.
The problem is, that the main page did not mention any secret page where the cards should be submitted. I have first (and most likely last) try on card creation and just see my steps:
- I opened this discussion point, where you present the theme, rules (only rule is that this is not a regular competition) and dates.
- Players are posting card images in discussion
- So I posted my submission entry in discussion
How can someone know, that these submissions are not valid and the only way to enter is to find a secret page where the cards should be submitted?
At least you should mention that there is somewhere on a page hidden a link to submission page? I believe, that when you click on the image with the competition name (which I did not know is a clickable object and not just an image) will lead to the secret page. But this is only my guess, as now I found out to my big surprise, it leads to voting page.
Oh, i guess i didnt get what you meant at first. Hm, i can see where ur coming from. We could/should change up the first post of the discussion thread to be more clear as to where to go from there, yes.
I love this deck for the cube. I used to play when this archetype was in standard, and now it's in wild i still love play whit it. This is a strong deck, but not brainless...and i love when cube poop up and fill my board :)
I play HS since Gadgetzan and Paladin is my first choice Hero since then. I never liked the Murloc theme which makes a fool of the Paladin identity and even now I am missing a true commitmend to a worthy "Knights and Dragons" theme. But I found my way to arrange myself over time and waited for the turn around which is in sight since the "Pure" and "Libram" mechanics are implemented and I hope there is more to come and that it will last as an integrated part of the Paladin identity in the game.
But for now: This is my "all out badass" deck which is competetive enough and is really fun to play. I like the "Duel" mechanic very much - this type of deck is really a fearfull opponent to all types and classes which Paladin hardly ever was. So till Blizzard makes Paladin a competetive and lasting force to be reckoned with in standard - this is one of the rare ways to save face and bring honor to Paladin players that stay true to Paladin. And one day - when we Paladin players compete the meta in a worthy way - all of us who waited in the shadows will be rewarded for their true lasting commitment. ;-)
Next: I've been playing quite a bit of Minecraft during the pandemic, so I want you to make a card based on the Creeper.
My only requirement is: don't name it just "Creeper", since we already have cards like Haunted Creeper or Corridor Creeper. Something like "Unstable Creeper" or "Explosive Creeper" would be fine.

Could EDH Work in Hearthstone?
Seeing posts like this reinforces the reason why Hearthstone needs Tables.
I don’t know how many people would play EDH in Hearthstone, but the option should still exist for players to be at least able to try it

I dont think going over 30 cards will ever happen, nor would it be a good idea in HS imo.
That being said, having a specific legendary on a side to play whenever i want and build the deck around that could be interesting.

I'm also having a lot of fun with this Taunt Warrior deck. I believe I copied it from a previous Wild decks spotlight here on Out of Cards.

Best to use this on an empty board unless you like exploding your own minions.
Next up, keeping the video game creatures going with a Lynel from Breath of the Wild.

This is my favorite deck since you just have a lot of fun with random based cards from both Summoning Stone and Medivh, the Guardian.
Aladdin Paladin (Aggro Reno)
I totally agree. More cheap cards added to the Libram archetype could easily fit this deck and archetype.
Sir Finley of the Sands would love to retrieve new Librams, maybe even a Legendary/Highlander book...
List of Runeterra Daily Quests
I was holding on to this, planning to post multiple new quests at a time but they never show up when you want to.
Aladdin Paladin (Aggro Reno)
I like this deck, let's hope in next expansion aggro paladin makes a comeback, libram and aggro could work if more sinergies are added to it.
