I wanted to know if this was happening to anyone else. I have had a couple games where the game had decided that I don’t want to defend, at key moments where defense is a necessity. It’s led to several losses, even in ranked. It’s not that the game times out. It just skips my defense step entirely. Again, I just wanted to know if this is happening to anyone else and if they are looking into it.
I finally hit legend! I've been playing mostly Standard since 2017, so it's kind of funny that I reached Wild legend first lol.
It wasn't that stressful of a climb, with the only obstacles being the three straight Secret Mages I lost to whenever I was just one win away (I swear, the Mage class exists just to make my life miserable lol). I was piloting Odd Demon Hunter, an absolutely overpowered deck that I feel a little guilty for reaching legend with it. But hey, legend is legend!
Time to kick back and enjoy being a legend player for one day, since it's gonna be a new season tomorrow. Just wanted to share, and good luck to everyone else on their climb!
Thank you everybody. To answer Pezman, I am a wild player. I started with highlander Quest Mage. Then I used one version of Quest mage to ladder up (with duplicates). I got stuck at rank 4-5 and tempostorm updated their wild meta snap shot. I updated the quest mage that from last time and it got a big boost in support. I tried to climb but it was a bit difficult. One night, I had a really good win: lose ratio so I kept playing... no pirates for a long time.
My big recommendation would be to check out the different websites and see what they call out as the best decks. If it's an unfair deck then that is what is best for laddering. I only changed my decks once I hit a ranking floor so I wouldn't suffer as I learned. I tried to keep to the same type of deck so I knew my deck really well. I didn't use a deck tracker because I laddered exclusively on my phone. I would recommend the deck tracker that this site uses which is from the hsreplay website (and connect that account to this website)
One reason I play wild is because I can't afford to play standard.
Another reason is because I think wild has more variety in it. I still peak into standard to increase to even more variety. Real fun is in casual mode. I probably won't do this again but it was good. I don't regret it.

I was at Diamond 2 yesterday (I went 9-3 yesterday with the new deck) but today I lost 4 games in a row (one of them because I'm stupid, I have to say), so I falled to Diamond 3. I had to climb today to Diamond 1 to have the possibility to reach Legend tomorrow. There is no way I can climb tomorrow from 3 to Legend, period. So maybe next season. Or maybe I will take a break and play just for fun. We will see.

Do whatever you feel is right for you my friend. Sounds like you have a good attitude about it.
You got to D2 so Legend is inevitable if you have the time/patience for it :) And you know where to come if you need support :)
I haven't tried out the decks you are playing, so I can't give you any tips on how to pilot them optimally, but I will say, that the best decision is to play whatever you want. It may sound like a cliche, but it's the truth. At least for me. The current ranking system is friendlier than the previous one and it allows for more variety on the ladder.
I would like to say the following not to brag, but to prove my point. I reached Legend four times in the new ranking system - twice in standard and twice in wild. In standard I ran Quest Resurrection Priest, which might be hated by a lot of players, but it was and still is considered to be a tier 4 deck. And in wild I ran two semi-casual Thief Priest decks - N'zoth and Raza. My goal was to have fun, while I was ranking, and I really enjoyed the time playing those decks - especially the wild ones.
So try to enjoy your time on the ladder as much as you can. Legend will come eventually. Also, in the past I constantly made some tweaks to my decks, in order to deal better with the competition. With this I don't mean adding tech cards like oozes, but more like strong class cards, which are good in various situations. If you feel like certain cards are underwhelming, you could decide to replace those with such, that counter your local meta more. Also, hsdecktracker will prove to be extremely useful - you should use it, if you aren't doing it already.
[Edit] Going from D3-Legend in a single day isn't impossible. You just have to have a good win-streak. If you don't have that much time, you could stop here and try again next season. But if the thing holding you back is the fear of not succeeding, then you should definitely try reaching legend tomorrow, since luck might be in your side.
Thank you for the suggestions, I am now working on building a Quest Dethrattle Dragon combo Priest. I am around 50% winrate, going nowhere, but at least I am having fun. Next season...

30th May update: Comparing WILD Murloc decks - Murloc Shaman or Murloc Paladin? (1080p)
You wake up one morning and decide that you really want to play Murlocs and nothing else. Anyone else feel this way sometimes? We look at 3 Murloc decks in this video - 2 Murloc Shaman decks and of course a Beardyman Murloc Paladin deck (a version that I have not yet featured previously).
