16th May update: Skawhomp's STANDARD Highlander Warlock: YOU FACE JARAXXUS! (1080p)
You face Jaraxxus, Eredar Lord of the Burning Legion! It's been too long. Remember the days when everyone played Lord Jaraxxus? Finally in 2020, I have found a deck with Lord Jaraxxus, that can win games for me on Standard. I will admit, my win rate isn't especially high, but I put that down to my play style needing improvement!
One of my first legendaries was The Boogeymonster. I tried several times to build windfury Shaman with this guy, but I was never good at deckbuilding, so it wasn't successful, as you might guess.
I look data from different sites and cross examinate with my ranked games.
I disagree with Corina being the TOP S tier. Its S tier for sure, but i barely see it at all at high level games. The 4 decks i face the most, in order, are: 1- Burn Agro; 2- Banner; 3- Ez/Karma; 4- Lee/Vi (it is a S tier deck btw, don't trust everything other people say, even me. Its at least MUCH BETTER then Deep Monsters).
As luck would have it, I accidentally tested this the other day. The heal is only for the damage that is actually dealt to an enemy. After barrier, my overwhelm unit dealt 3 damage to the enemy nexus, and that's how much I healed for.
Yeah, i was expecting it would work exactly like that. Thank You.
I like to use the emotes, but I’m a respectful way. Never spamming, but to communicate my reactions to their moves, and usually Shen when I think I’ve won. It seems like most players I run in to do the same
Since its been ressurected, i have a legit question:
What happens when an Overwhelm unit with lifesteal attacks another with barrier? Does it Heal for the excess damage, full attack or not at all?
As luck would have it, I accidentally tested this the other day. The heal is only for the damage that is actually dealt to an enemy. After barrier, my overwhelm unit dealt 3 damage to the enemy nexus, and that's how much I healed for.
Looks like a fun list. What do you think about replacing Kargath Bladefist (which I don't have) with Captain Greenskin? If not that, then is there a better replacement? Also, what do think about keeping Imprisoned Gan'arg in a mulligan with no coin (and no Corsair Cache), with the plan of playing Imprisoned Gan'arg turn one, hero power (or Corsair Cache or Questing Explorer if you got one by then) turn two, and playing Hack the System and maybe hero power turn three? That feels... not bad, and you don't risk coming away from the mulligan with no early game.
Yes, you are correct. My examples were kinda bad, i just said what came to mind on the moment. Tbh i forgot Shen was even in the game. I disagree on Tyrnda actually, before at least he was played in Warmother's Call decks and one of his strong points was the level up condition (you could use Atrocity and have him survive and get bigger or clear the board with Ruination).
Yeah you're right about Tryndamere. It's probably better to say that he is played because of his level up, but not with the purpose of actually levelling him.
I agree it was intentional. I don't think it was purely for marketing reasons. It was, of course, for that, too, but I do think it was also done in consideration that for those of us who have a full set of top leveled heroes with all the golden basic cards, not all of us are glad to have to do that over. Making the class OP for a reasonably brief time and gradually ratcheting it down to just barely be at or near the top ranked archetypes makes sense in terms of allowing long time players to quickly and easily level the hero out to all golden basics with minimum pain. For that reason, I like the approach.
Thanks! Any chance you or someone could link me to the article, or give the date so I could find it? Definitely missed it, would love to read the details.

Good luck everyone! Lots of really good submissions this time around. I've been giving a lot more 4 and 5 stars than usual.

8 mana would be so bad? For the aggro or tempo demon hunter yes. 8 mana 6/7 with that effect wouldn't be bad. Look at ragnaros
Overwhelm does damage to nexus even if the opponent has a barrier..
Yeah, i was expecting it would work exactly like that. Thank You.

And thats a BM right there.

I've noticed you are using Sky Raider when other lists would have battle rage.
So you'd rather have a minion and a random pirate on your hand instead of card draw ?

If I owned Akali I would totally try out that Handbuff Warrior because I like playing buffed minions, but alas I'm not gonna craft it.

Can't say I have/had the same experience, now or before. Rarely do I see anyone use emotes at all.

Like the title says. Beta people were polite (bran wave at game start, shen emote at game end).
Now every other player is spamming
Jinx/Thresh on lethal,
heimer/gryphon thinking emote if you take more than 5 seconds to play
Thumbs up emote/brann on pivotal/counter plays.
Not sure I expected any different. I miss the respectful beta community.
