Much of the RNG involved in HS depends on a technical issue.
Actually, if a spell (or a battlecry, deathrattle effect) can target more than one target, then its targets are chosen randomly because the GUI doesn't let the user choose two or more things.
This problem is also limiting the design space of the game:
For example, a card with "Deathrattle: destroy target opposing minion" actually cannot even exist, because a deathrattle effect simply 'happen' and no user decision can be made in the middle.
In my opinion, if they find a way to improve the GUI, then this is really an impressive upgrade of the game in general.
Double targeted spells and battlecries and targeted deathrattles can open a wide design space.
The design space and strategy could be also improved with the introduction of activated abilities on minions, another thing that actually cannot be made due to GUI issues.
However, I think Blizzard won't do any of those things :(
I experimented with another fun card yesterday. It is Alarm-o-Bot. So i created a deck with lots of mage removal spells. some high impactful minions like Kalecgos, Archmage Antonidas and Malygos. If all goes well, your bot can be played on turn 3, survives, and bam you have your big 10 mana dude AND a whole turn to make use of it. Or just cast a Conjurer's Calling on it, also does wonders.
Heavy fun indeed. Will be experimenting around this card some more until new expansion hits.
- take a page from runeterra or BG, just remove the spoken emotes in favor of images. I think getting a thumbs up image from an overconfident face hunter at 10hp is a lot less BM than hearing "thanks" for the umpteen time
It will be still triggering, because you will see it, when your opponent spams it, when hes ahead. It wouldn't change much, because then people would cry for autosquelch images.
Both Mythgard and Gwent (and probably others) have the option to give a "thumbs up" at the end of the game. If both players give the the thumbs up, you both get a little something in return. If one of them doesn't, neither gets anything. The idea is that, if you're a jerk to your opponent, you loose on bonus.
Sure why would turning a crappy 1/1 into a 4/4 that can trade efficiently and instantly not be overpowered?
They even nerfed it already and it's still disgustingly op. Make it 7 mana and it's an acceptable effect but on turn 5 it's garenteed to hit some trash minion and insta trade with a non trash minion.
I know I can use it too but it shouldn't even exist, let alone be in the DoD set, definitely fits the dragon theme right, oh wait, no.
Is there a way to instantly show changed votes to worse? If I change a vote of mine to the better, the stars are displayed correctly. Whenever I correct a vote downwards though, the stars stay in position. I get a notification and the vote will show the new result if I refresh the page but it doesn't do so instantaneous like when I correct upwards. Happens on mobile and desktop.
This was the time when I truely started to play and learn Hearthstone and watch streams, though I played casually since beta. It was also the time when I showed and teached the game for my girlfriend and still today we play the dailies together every morning on breakfast, so it was really the most exciting time for me with the game!
I think I may be the only one who doesn't like amalgamate. I like the interesting yet simple design, and it is a pretty neat effect that can be used in a lot of ways. The only thing I don't like about it; it is a dungeon run treasure. When you cannot build your own deck, this ability just feels super irrelevant 90% of the time. There is no way I would ever pick this over something like "all minions get buff X". So while it is a very interesting card that has a lot of potential and a ton of different interactions with different tribal buffs, I just don't see this card EVER happening in a dungeon-run style format.
Seconded, you're not alone ;-) I only gave 5 stars once and that was for The Last Candle. The RNG competitors are too much for my taste and I found the flavor of this card so great it deserves to win. I'm a bit sad that Bazaar Break didn't make it (and my own submission of course ;-))
I doubt we are getting a full Quel'thalas-Silvermoon year, more likely just one set, either the first one or the last one. In the same way Dalaran was instrumental, but not really everywhere.
Elementals might be there as well, they don't need to focus the whole theme on them, in order to provide new ones, ie Animated Avalanche, Siamat.
Finally, if Blood Elves are key, Demons should also get the spotlight at some point. I actually suspect that Valdris Felgorge was originally meant to be part of the new set, rather than Dragons...
As have been mentioned, there's no need for an endorsement system since its not a team game at heart. It wouldn't matter to me if I won/lost to someone who racked up 100 endorsements vs one that has -100. Unless there's a consequence to having more endorsement to less, there's just no reason to want one other than conceit.
On the subject of BMs, the game needs:
- Auto squelch (don't see why this is a difficult implementation) - take a page from runeterra or BG, just remove the spoken emotes in favor of images. I think getting a thumbs up image from an overconfident face hunter at 10hp is a lot less BM than hearing "thanks" for the umpteen time
Don't think the worst of the lot, rope trolls, are quite prevalent for measures to be taken against them. The last I had this was about 10 months ago, and all I did was just surf the net while he persist with this idiocy in his world where it is no doubt just a very funny joke.
The only time I get rattled by the characters is when they insist on speaking their overly long lines even after I've restarted the match for the tenth time in a roll.
Other than that, Ive always like new spins on old characters. Maybe someday they will drag up the MsoG characters back.
Freeze Shaman didn’t have a chance of working because last minute they changed one of the best cards for the archetype (they pretty heavily implied the Shaman Death Knight was gonna have a targeted freeze for its hero power)
In a game, where your communication is just through Emotes you want a Report-System? Not worth it and easy abuseable. Just mute the guy and you are fine.
I would only agree with you, if HS would get a chat to communicate with his enemy, but that's unlikely.
Definitely chicken, and flames represents rage so this will be Year of the Angry Chicken.
But seriously phoenix reminds me of reborn, and that reminds me of reusing old sets. Also there is almost no phoenixes in Warcraft (only Al'ar is noticeable), also they are elementals.
Anyway, belfs expansion is very likely. We still don't have Kael'thas legendary.

Turn 4 Mountain Giant is nothing. How about a turn 4 Colossus of the Moon.

why is frostbite burst again?
Well that does make sense ofc but apperantly my rant didnt think about that.

obviously he has Blood Elven heritage, you can tell by the teeth

on the flipside, lots of reused characters every expansion (if you don't like Rafaam, he's gonna get o your nerves pretty quickly)

considering that the "Year of the Dragon" wasn't really indicative until the very end I wouldn't hold my breath

In the end Galakrond, the Unspeakable ended up better than Galakrond, the Tempest
Now how's that for irony

Too slow I think. Rogue also has issues with hand size.

Another point - Remember how they said they might be updating the Classic/Basic set?
Phoenixes are usually associated with rebirth... maybe this is just a stretch

Thanks for the confirm. Guess the wording "your other minions have rush" means if he dies then the other minions loses their rush.
On the other hand if the wording was "give your other minions rush" then it wouldnt matter if he dies.
Makes me wonder what the interaction would be for minions with a dying Shaw with Spirit of the Rhino around.
