  • Hearthstone Esports Gets a New Crowdfunding Bundle - The Dragon Masters Bundle Now Available with a New Card Pack

Do we know when this will no longer be available?  I need pay-day to hurry.

  • Weekly 3x diamond chest rewards contents (video)

    >>>>>>>>3x Diamond Chest rewards <<<<<<<<

Figured I would include the contents of my Rewards opening to help people who are interested in tracking drop rates get more source material.

Also I know people just like seeing a cache being opened.

Short and sweet 1:30 sec video, no music overlay, no intro, just cards.

  • "The Ruination" is a horrible concept for a card. Balance issues.

The ruination as a concept in general is disgusting, all good players understand that setting up your field while diminishing the enemies is more important than constantly belittling the opponents hp, I can't count how many times I've played smarter than my opponent resulting in having a massive lead on field with close to equal cards in hand, then they play The Ruination, and suddenly we're only equal playing field, 6+ rounds of work to best the opponent successfully and its demolished entirely by a single card, it ruins the skill in every match that card is had, the opponent will often times win from the RNG of pulling that card, despite being bested every round up to him being able to play that card. It's beyond broken and a shitty concept in general, if its going to be in the game there has to be a condition for it to be met, maybe have to have a certain range of cards in hand, or requires you to have at least 3 allied units in play it shouldn't be this free card to just fuck your opponents entire setup, when you've been outwitted the entire game and have 0 allies in play. that being said, the majority of the spells in shadow isle are damage spells, and just about all of them are extremely over powered, doing absurd amounts of damage for very little cost, to be frank, almost all the spells in the game should be nerfed, in a game where you have only 20 hp, giving a full field +3/+3 (For Demacia!) is insane, that card alone adds 18 damage to a field, and it can be used as early as round 6 with a full field if you luck out with a nice draw, not to mention the Cursed Keeper, and Ravenous Butcher combo, at round 2 you can have a 3/2 and a 4/4 on the field, that's absurd, no other region has the potential for that strong of a field by round 2. It's possible I'm slightly biased, would love other's opinions, obviously it's a new game, so balance issues are to be expected, then again, Riot Games is known for not being able to balance shit.

Here's a question on pity timers/this one specifically since it's new - does the free DoD legendary (or if one gets a DoD legendary out of these "year of the dragon packs") reset the current DoD timer? Or does that keep ticking away since it wasn't "obtained for DoD packs"?

To whit: I'm currently on pack 28 of my regular DoD timer - if it does reset the timer then arguably it would be "most" beneficial to wait until I get another pack legendary since I'm most of the way there already.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (The Resurrection Attempt)

Oh hey look at that: a list of cards with a "swap" effect. Crazy!

  • Lunar Quests - help me I'm dumb

What if you wait to login until after the event has started? Will you get a normal quest and a special quest or 2 special quests?

Can we get year of the dragon packs from shop with gold, or this is only way?

  • Overwhelm does damage to nexus even if the opponent has a barrier..

The point is that Overwhelm doesn't care what happens to the blocking minion: it just calculates the difference between the attack value and the health value and everything exceeding is inflicted as damage to the Nexus.

Barrier protect only the minion with it from the first istance of damage, but that doesn't affect in any way further injuries dealt to other targets. Another example of this is Withering Wail: if one of the enemy minion has Barrier, the damage is prevented only for that single one but not for all the others.

  • Tirion too strong?

    Quote From RandomGuy

I'm on the fence. Like you, I've won almost every single game where I've picked Tirion. This probably suggests that it's out of balance. But I think it's close. I wonder if making it 2-mana is fair, considering that neutrals are far more common and varied than Demons (Jaraxxus's buff).

Also, unlike Jaraxxus, the minions you play aren't costing you LP.

Like the only "downside" is that some of your best minions come from TT1 and TT2...which isn't really that bad considering the buffs. But I wonder if the buff cost is increased if it becomes too strong a nerf to those minions.

It also struggles if it doesn't get Rivendare or Demons.

They will probably nerf him, 2 mana HP seems like a logical candidate, or maybe change the HP to give +1 attack or health. Redesigning it would be the last choice, imo.

Yeah sometimes you don't get Demons or Rivendare, but the minions scale up so well throughout the game, you get the victory anyways. Golden Selfless Hero and Zapp are my MVPs. Bolvar is also one of my favourites.

Does this mean that we get 2 guaranteed legendary, 1 from the random DoD and 1 from 10 pack pity-timer? Isn't this a good deal, then?

  • 1st

    That's 2 rares and a golden twinspell

  • Hearthstone Esports Gets a New Crowdfunding Bundle - The Dragon Masters Bundle Now Available with a New Card Pack

Pack simulator was updated quick - nice!

  • Lunar Quests - help me I'm dumb

Learn something new every day. Are you guaranteed a special quest or is it just a chance to reroll into one? Pretty sure this hasn't happened to me and it's not like I never reroll quests...

  • The Galakrond's Awakening Hearthstone Adventure Week 2 Cards - Clash at Wyrmrest

I enjoyed watching the meta change in response to last week’s new cards. The impact wasn’t as big as we see after nerfs, etc., but it was real. Who knew that Embiggen Druid had just needed one OP card all along?

I hope this gradual evolution continues over the next few weeks.

My assumption is that due to all the sets being combined into one pool, all legendaries from those sets that you have are removed from the pool. When the pool of unobtained legendaries is empty, you have a chance of getting any legendary since dupes are now allowed.

There should be equal odds of getting any legendary that you do not own. If you disenchant a card and it becomes the only legendary you are missing from the combined sets, the pity timer would give you that legendary back. It can be a good way to chase a particular golden legendary, assuming the game actually gives you a golden legendary in a pack.

  • Hearthstone Esports Gets a New Crowdfunding Bundle - The Dragon Masters Bundle Now Available with a New Card Pack

I have a question about the pity timer. I do have almost all legendaries in the Year-of-the-Dragon sets, minus Murazond (the Priest dragon from DoD).

I also have a few golden legendaries. I might be tempted by the bundle, I assume I would get Murazond as free legendary (since he is the only one missing). If I get another legendary due to the pity timer, will it check all sets for the ones missing, meaning if I have all DoD legendaries, but miss one from SoU, am I bound to get that one?

Or is the set of any given legendary predetermined? Let's say I disenchant Barista Lynchen (RoS) and Hack the System (SoU), but keep all DoD legendaries, could I end up with a copy of that last set?

  • Hearthstone Esports Gets a New Crowdfunding Bundle - The Dragon Masters Bundle Now Available with a New Card Pack

The 10-pack pity timer activating for this makes it a much better deal than past bundles for those of us primarily grinding Legendaries and dust. I know it's not very fashionable to praise Blizzard, but it's a really nice improvement to the value proposition.

  • Lunar Quests - help me I'm dumb

    Quote From Demonwax

The daily quest you get at the start of a new day will be a normal one.

When the event starts later that day, an event quest will be forced into your account.

So 2 quests in the log at the start of the event is max value.

Rerolling these 2 standard quest will award you event quests.

During the event 60 gold/dust quests are a mandatory reroll, as you can't get a quest lower than 60.

At least this is how 2019's Lunar event worked.

    Thank you

  • Help drafting Expedition

I dislike limited formats. Because, they're boring, I suck or can't stand what game is offering me (choosing between bad and bad...). In the earlier trial, I got thousands of spells, bad and replicated cards, while my opponents, every one of them got nuts, insane synergies and insane curves. I was thinking spending shards on Expeditions, but now I see it's not worth my nerves. In essence, not different from HS Arena (inconsistent and unpredictable fiesta). Constructed is much more enjoyable for me. Still, need to do these free runs.

    https://ibb.co/j8zJf41

What would you choose here? I don't like any of the choices. Even if I would take something, there's an awful card in the same bundle. Ancient Crocolith seems terrible; what guarantees me I'll be able to make enough synergies for it to work (and why at all)? It sucks with what I already picked. But Kalista seems the least bad from the list of offered champions. Ezreal dies by a spittle. Karma gives at least some value and 'not totally bad' tempo, but why Solitary Monk, doesn't feel good with my midrange Garen stuff I would like to build.

    What's a good spells / minions ratio?

  • Noxus: Battering Ram is way too overpowered.

I agree -- they should either reduce the health or remove Overwhelm. Or not snowball.

I strongly disagree that other 6-mana followers are as impactful. Champions, perhaps, but not followers.

Apart from those that revive themselves, I can't think of any follower that's so difficult to remove. It is effectively immune to combat the first round, and it is guaranteed to take several units down while dealing massive nexus damage at the same time -- all with no precondition to be met.

Listing a bunch of hard removals is not particularly helpful -- by definition, those work on literally everything. A 6-mana follower that snowballs very quickly should not require hard removal.

One way to fix it would be to keep its stats at 0/12, but add: "Play: Capture an ally to grant me that ally's power." Because the ally is piloting it, see? (And remove the Attack effect, because logically, why would a real battering ram's attacks get stronger over time?)

  • The Galakrond's Awakening Hearthstone Adventure Week 2 Cards - Clash at Wyrmrest

This wing has some of the cards I think are the most interesting of the whole adventure.

Cleric of Scales - sweet sweet card, I love everything about it. It's not op but it lets you fish a good spell from your deck while thinning it out. Being 1 mana, you can play in the early game and plan your following turns since the beginning of the match with more options. I really like this one.

Arcane Amplifier - I've played Odd Mage in the last 4 months even without any new additions and now I'll get this bad boy. Another sweet card in the right deck.

Explosive Evolution - I don't like Shaman and Evolve's PTSD aren't gone yet, but I appreciate the disruption aspect of this spell: it may backfire, but you can target your opponent's minions (bypass a taunt, disrupt the res pool, remove a minion with good buffs/effect,...). But hey, more flexibility is always welcome.
