In the example image I saw Vicious Scraphound which I would have sworn was a Boomsday card, but it's apparently Rise of Shadows. I think a few other mechs like Ursatron and Clockwork Goblin are from Shadows as well, but I constantly assume they were BDP.
I think the token is much better than a random champion since expanditions are fun and you get the random champion in the end but they said in the level 10 vaults.. wonder if they are in the level 13 vaults... looking forward to tomorrow to actually get a nice amount of cards to try new decks
Regarding champions from vaults: from what I can tell, you're never guaranteed a champion, but everything has a random chance at upgrades and higher levels give more stuff so statistically you improve your odds.
You are guaranteed with that expedition token. I'll tell you how. Expeditions gives a random champion card even you can't get any wins. So basically you can go for an expedition and end it instantly without playing and you'll get a random guaranteed champion even you don't like to play Expeditions.
It is better than a normal Champion reward for Vaults like before. Because one Expedition Token can give you more than 1 Champion card.
For who wonders, I got my 7 wins on expeditions(Both Trials were 7 wins), It gave 3500 shards + 1 Diamond Chest + 1 Champion Card(it upgraded into champion Wildcard). So that token has potentially more than 1 champion card and that's better than the older state of Vaults.
Very nice stuff, I do think some of the cards are a bit complex for the basic/classic set though. Not in the sense that they are hard to understand, or too many lines of text, but they use some concepts that are pretty unique. For example, Flame Rush is the only card in the basic/classic set that shuffles things, and there are only two other cards in all of Hearthstone that exchange Health for Armor, an expansion Epic, and an expansion class legendary, so having that ability as a basic card feels a little weird. The only other card to have the same effect as Cauterize is Alexstrasza, a legendary. And Warm Up is the only 'good' tutor card in the basic/classic set.

Regarding champions from vaults: from what I can tell, you're never guaranteed a champion, but everything has a random chance at upgrades and higher levels give more stuff so statistically you improve your odds. That said, I'm staring at these numbers and I don't see how anyone actually gets a champion vault in practice, since even the diamond chests only have basic capsules which start with 4 commons and 1 rare. E.g., the odds of hitting a basic capsule -> epic capsule upgrade are 10% and then hitting the single epic from the capsule for a -> Rarity + 1 is 10% for 1% total chance of a random champion per module? If that's true, then the difference of getting at least 1 champion at Level 13 versus Level 10 is 8.6% versus 5.9%--hardly anything to write home about.
I'm starting to think more and more that the only viable way to get 3 champions of a kind is to buy champion wildcards with real world cash, which is kinda a bummer.
A quick question. Today we can open the vault chest but I haven't managed to get to level 10 yet. I should be able to grind out some exp today and then open it at level 10?
I think last week is done--there was a timer on it, implying everyone rolls over at the same second. But look on the bright side: now you can get a jump towards level 10 for next Tuesday!
I also don't get the 3 expedition thing, I used my token and completed my first expedition but I didn't get any other run
Yeah that was my bad--I thought I saw an in-game message when I popped my token about getting 3 runs but its 1 token for 1 run / 2 trials. 3 is coincidentally also the soft-limit for number of expedition per week (i.e., if you're buying extra tokens with gold or shards); for your 4th and on they dramatically reduce the rewards.
I got a Shu'ma as well, but I like to play Quest Hunter, so I'm quite happy with it. It might be playable in Token Druid as well, if you have a deck that's not exclusively doesn't lean too heavily on Treants.
Thanks for posting this. FYI, I don't think that last tally screen is accurate. It shows a total of 27 common, 12 rare, 4 epic, and 0 champions. I'm not sure exactly how its trying to count; here are my tallies excluding extras & shards:
I haven't lost to Embiggen Druid yet playing Quest Hunter.
I lost as Face Hunter once to Embiggen Druid, and that's when they got a +4 Zilliax on turn 7 when they were on 2 health. The increased stats don't matter a bit when everything gets more expensive.
The crux of the clue is the treasure: the Golden Monkey. That’s in Mischief Makers art and is a call back to the “know-it-all” who was originally looking for it - Elise Starseeker. The “green” references the goblin doing the swap and the “beak” is the chicken with which she’s swapping the monkey
There is always an XP bonus for Expeditions, even after you've run three, with no cap and no diminishing returns. Of course, you have to get seven wins to get the top bonus, but even just a win or two is worthwhile.
I know it's hard for a free player to save up enough shards for three Expeditions in a week, and I'm sure that's by design. If I were a free player, I'd save up my tokens from the Vault until I could spend three in one week. Better than that is to buy a few coins and support the game. Either way, it is worth it to unlock the only unlimited source of XP, especially if you like draft mode.
Apart from that, here are the daily caps for each category:
30 PvP wins
10 PvP losses
20 AI wins
10 AI losses
(There is also the daily PvP bonus and the quests, but that all runs out long before you hit the caps.)
Sorry, I was going off of the keyword list in the forum here, assuming it was taken directly from the game.
At any rate, we get how it works; re-explaining it in different ways doesn't make it more correct. The interactions as you describe them could still be unintended. Or even if they are intended (for now), there's no reason they couldn't be retuned if Overwhelm proves to be overperforming.

A problem I see is that Crystallize Blood appears to reference Crystallizer when that card didn't exist yet.

Eh, it gives you cards from the Year of the Dragon, while it is the Year of the Raven (Witchwood, Boomsday, Rastakhan) that will be rotating out next.

Unless VR allows you to rub your golden legendaries at your opponent's face, I can't see the attraction of developing something like this.

I'm a little torn over this arrangement, mostly because it also gives you cards from the rotating expansions.
Had it not been for the guaranteed 2 legendaries, I wouldn't have bothered. Still, its good value for money.

Choose the reward region for levels of 4. Getting the wild capsule rewards is pretty good. Rinse snd repeat for each region.
