  • New Neutral Minion - Devoted Maniac

This looks like the worst card of this set.even though ı think invoke is op this just seems umderpowered

  • New Neutral Minion - Hot Air Balloon

I really like the art. Wish it was a better cards but its still godd like a mecharoo that snownalls.

  • New Card Reveal - Tentacled Menace

Hm. Interesting. Not playable, but interesting.

No major analysis from me that hasn't already been addressed in the comments below, but will make one point that several people seem to have missed - whether your card becomes cheaper or more expensive, there's still a downside. You're still drawing your opponent a card. It might be more expensive than it normally would be, but it's still an extra resource you gave them. The card being more expensive is going to be irrelevant unless it's specifically a combo piece or you go to fatigue (the latter of which is unlikely if you're running this card).

  • New Neutral Minion - Depth Charge

A 1 cost doomsayer i really like the fact that it can live more than 1 turn if you buff it.

  • New Card Reveal - Tentacled Menace

I like it but it doesnt seem very effective.you could use this against aggro if you have big cards.

  • Lazul & Her Thieving Trolls

Thanks! Since this deck is meant to be a fun deck, substituting anything that "feels" right is probably fine!

If you want to keep the Thief Priest feeling of Griftah, then Archbishop Benedictus could be a really solid replacement for Griftah. If you want some cheaper options, then Convert or Entomb still keep the "thieving" flavor. Potion of Madness, Shadow Madness, Cabal Shadow Priest, and Mind Control are other options that are more board based for your thieving.

Perhaps you want to be a little more...aggressive...with your thieving; then adding a Dirty Rat, Deathlord, Unseen Saboteur, or Hecklebot could dig into your opponent's pockets. Maybe you want to be a true thief, like Mischief Maker, and take your opponent's actual card! Or maybe you want to gamble it all on your opponent's hand with Azalina Soulthief.

If, instead, you are interested in the "troll-ing" aspect of this deck, Mojomaster Zihi works as a control card that "steals" your opponent's mana crystals. Additionally, Da Undatakah is another troll that can copy our thieving deathrattles (from Crystalline Oracle and Shifting Shade) for even more card stealing.

At the end of the day, this deck is about whatever feels right to you. So, if anything sticks out as an obvious substitute, then go for it!

  • New Card Reveal - Depth Charge

To be fair, Mecha'thun Lock has been running Doomsayer-Treachery for some time now in high legend lists (in Wild, obviously) because you don't want to run removal that can't be cleansed by Hemet. Obviously Doomsayer is better than this card for that job, just noting that even with all the Wild removal, Treachery still sees play :P

  • Legendary Card Reveal - Frizz Kindleroost

Both posts in this thread are pretty bang on my reasoning too. It's not a bad card, it's a very strong one subjectively and it will see play in every dragon deck. But it's not the world being razed.

It'll discount a limited number of cards in your deck, most likely ten or less in any competitive list. Many of those will be high-drops whose discounted cost will not be all that disproportionately powerful. Overall, looking at a large representative sample of games, I'd expect (and being clear - this isn't scientific at all) to see this card have a significant impact in one in ten of them at most.

Further prediction - this card will be nerfed. It will not be nerfed because it's overly powerful, although T5 will likely present it as being so. It will instead be nerfed because every scrub that eats a one-game-in-a-thousand highroll curve against this card will whine about it endlessly until it's nerfed just to shut them up.

  • New Shaman Minion - Bandersmosh

It's pretty ok, worst case scenario it's a 5 mana 5/5 which is not that bad .

  • Tentacled Menace

A bit too inconsistent. Even in the best case senario where you play this as control against aggro it still draws them a card, even overcosted that is often not going to be a problem when they ran out of cards. So you are basically banking on you drawing a card that has its cost reduced by that much that it wins you the game. I would call that a bit too inconsistent.

  • New Shaman Minion - Nithogg

The card looks good but it's pretty slow for the current meta, don't know about its playability.

  • New Mage Minion - Dragoncaster

  • Out of Cards Reviews - Descent of Dragons Reveal Season #5

Whilst I disagree with a few of the analyses here, no point me re-posting an opinion I already posted on the individual card pages, so I shall limit myself to only one objection:

Babbling Book x Glyph? That'd produce offspring that generate two cards, or one card with a (1) cost reduction (depending on how you're calculating things), surely? I would've said Babbling Book casting Arcane Blast, because that damage has gotta come from somewhere.

  • New Shaman Minion - Cumulo-Maximus

This is what Quest Shaman was looking for, very strong card on his own as well.

  • New Rogue Minion - Stowaway

Looks like the text has been updated now for the English version, and it is a bit simpler.

  • New Neutral Minion - Bad Luck Albatross

The name of the card is perfect, is so luck based that it might work from time to time, so much highlight potential and might make the cut in some Rogue decks.

  • New Neutral Minion - Bad Luck Albatross

I really like this! It's not too awkward to play on curve and it messes up your opponents deck. No matter the strategy, you NEVER want to draw a 1/1 after mulligan. Probably even better in arena where you depend more on good topdecking. That being said, with the abundance of over-powered cards this will see less play than deserved.

  • New Warlock Minion - Zzeraku the Warped

I really like this one, played on 10 it's quite a big amount of stats and if not dealt with, becomes pretty much deadly.

  • Rogue Card Reveal - Stowaway

Reeeeeeal expensive, which makes the analysis easy. It's good for shuffle-centric (i.e. meme) decks, bad for every other Rogue archetype. Unless, of course, we see Pogo Hoppers back in the mainstream meta, which is unlikely and concerning.

  • New Neutral Minion - Depth Charge

so much worse than doomsayer, only + is 1 cost, meh, filler, but glad to see some fillers finally, so much OP cards.

  • New Mage Spell - Arcane Breath

Value and damage in one card is always good, probably an auto-include in dragon mage decks. I'm not so sure about cyclone decks though, that depends if they will have ano room for dragons.

  • New Card Reveal - Depth Charge

Interesting card - like some others in the set it fills in some spaces between and around existing cards (like Doomsayer).  A decent tech option/control option.

  • New Neutral Minion - Dread Raven

I mean, it looks like a meme card, but there is some potential with copying effects from Hunter, might actually make the cut for a deck, not a very good one tho.

  • New Neutral Minion - Depth Charge

nice aggro remover at a low cost and fair stats..can be removed without any big plays but just enough to make it a nuisance.

  • Frizz Kindleroost

wow let's make a dragon expansion and a must include card neutral so it can be the most clownfiesta expasion of all time.
