Ok confirmed... random one can be repeat, but I got lucky and got repeat only on 4th item, so I am already at 3 out of 4 (so decided to experiment for science as I still have over a week to do "specific for 40")
Mana gain for other classes have been explored before, like Lightning Bloom and Escaped Manasaber but as most would predict it, they just dont work all that well for classes that wasn't specifically designed to work with it. Druid (much to my displeasure) tend to be designed with plenty of excellent late game strats, which incentives consistent mana growth, something that other classes tend to lack.
We can also argue that this has been explored in other classes indirectly via the concept of mana cheating, which often become problematic in the same way.
Mana ramp is one of those things that needs delicate balancing, and I dont think we need it being introduced in other classes.
Blizz has been stingy with meta-viable cheap taunts; if they keep that up, Unending Swarm might be stranded for non-aggro decks and nevertheless too slow for aggro.
It's amazing that themes that are very abstract but mechanically super-strong -- mana gain -- are conserved but themes that are utterly narrow and linked to class identity can be handed out like popcorn -- ressurection.
I'm guessing that Lingering Zombie is a series of 3 1/1s (each illustrated with fewer limbs). Oddly enough, this is a bad candidate for Unending Swarm imo since its secondary and teritary spawns could eat up a summon slot.
If I had a 0-star rating, I'd give it to this one. Why would anyone include this in their decks?
Because it's discover? And discovering is always good, especially in mage. More Frozen Touches or Wildfires.
You're paying 3 mana for an overpriced, double Magic Trick at best. When you can use Arcane Intellect to either draw them, something else from your deck that might be useful or get closer to your win condition (or draw it) in some sort of way.
If you Discover a 3 and 0 cost card (12 out of 27 and 2 out of 27, respectively.), you just paid 3 mana for a 3 mana spell and you get a dead card in your hand which feels bad to play.
If you Discover a 1 and 2 cost card, congratulations, you just paid 1 mana less for a 2 cost spell, for 3 mana.
If you Discover cards of the same cost, then yeah, just paid for an overpriced double Magic Trick.
These cases are bad, but what's worse is that they're inconsistent and randomized. You don't know what you'll get, you don't know if you'll get your answer amongst these options, and even if you get them, its not good in any case or circumstance except the rare clip.
idk if quoting two people makes the whole post away and im not gonna risk it lol but
dapperdog does bring a good point, knowledge didn't see play because it was redundant, it was 2 cards and that's good, but it was rebundant in a class with a hero power that draws. It only saw play in one deck that cared about cards (I think it was Plot Twist Warlock?) and that's it.
The same point can be applied here, its redundant because there are many ways you can Discover cheap answers or potential win conditions already, and an awful one on top of that ain't gonna make the cut in any deck in its current state. It brings no value, no mana advantage, just put the spell in your deck or have a way to draw/get it, its much more consistent than relying on this card to hit.
I don't even think this should be 2 mana Discover (2) cost or less, making it cost 2 mana would be good value for the current year, a bit redundant but it would feel less bad to play than its current iteration.
Reminds me quite alot of Anyfin Can Happen, which could be abused with charging murlocs. Whether this will be as good remains to be seen, as specific murlocs are probably better to rezz than 2-cost minion, but it also cost significantly less. Interesting card ☺️
Support for aggro druid, and seems like team5 is doubling down on the hordes of undead thing with druid. But Im still not entirely convinced because there's just so many non-undead cards you'd run in aggro druid, which is why I feel there's a possibility that aggro druid will simply exist without Elder Nadox or Wither, good cards they may be.
Still the second half of druid yet unrevealed. And man I sure hope there isn't any 4/6 taunts being cheated out for zero mana being printed in this expansion.
Not too surprised to see this being printed, since Wither itself becomes useless once the undead horde are all gone. So it makes sense that there should be a card that generates undead boards back
But this card has more applications than merely as reload for aggro druid. Basically this card is another Scale of Onyxia, assuming the first one is played. Or alternatively you can run a multitude of small defensive minions like Annoy-o-Tron and Plated Beetle, and this card will properly bring them back, sort of like a psuedo Spreading Plague that needs buildup.
I can see plenty of applications for this card, no matter the deck.

Maybe the hype blurred my eyesight a little bit. While I still think that this card is the nuts, it is an exaggeration to say that it outclasses Gone Fishin' - you're right on this one.
Moreover, I agree with you that both these cards existing together is going to be troublesome down the line.
So exactly as I feared, the Frost rune reigns supreme as the Frost team won the event. Ofc this was only against the other 2 runes but this clearly means that if you want to be competitive while playing DK, you are forced to buy the Path of Arthas set (As it has all the 3x Frost Rune cards), making the game more expensive.
It was a tactical move by Blizzard to get more money out of us 😥
It doesn't but I wouldn't say that makes Ghostly Strike just straight better. The 1 damage is only really valuable if it gets to kill a minion, which is a fairly narrow circumstance. If the card draw aspect is what you're after, Gone Fishin' does that better by letting you see more of your deck.
What's scarier is that both of these cards exist together, cause this will give Rogue so much redundancy in cheap draw that they might be able to assemble combos or churn through their deck to find key powerhouse cards with nasty consistency. My bet is Ghostly Strike and Gone Fishin' won't compete for a card slot, they'll both be must haves in the same deck.
We'd have to evaluate the whole concoction package by itself coz this minion won't see play outside of it. The conception of the concoctions is cool and you'll basically be getting an extra mana if you think about it coz this minion costs 2. The concoction package may see play mainly due to this card, giving the archetype more tempo.
This is a nice draw spell for Big Shaman but we kinda missing a lot of big minions for big shaman to be big again in Standard. If Big Shaman were a thing again at some point, maybe we'll also see more of Criminal Lineup?
The bottom line here is: we need more big stuff for this spell to have a good payoff.
Druid has Underking and other armor gain resources so this taunt will cost 0 most times. Lots of taunt and defensive options in this expansion so I highly doubt aggro will survive at all.
The most ultimate super sticky minion! Glad this wasn't printed for DK coz that'd be 3 corpses in 1 card. Should find a nice place in a token undead druid and maybe even some shenanigans with Drakkari Embalmer
There's a small chance that Roll the Bones makes it's way back into Standard via the core set.
Team 5 really want deathrattle rogue to work and I'm all for it. The mana discount for this rat increases with the more deathrattle minions you add to your deck. Wonder if Bonelord Frostwhisper would be good here...

New Druid Spell - Unending Swarm
The swarm potential of druid that expansion is so overpowered. More Sire Denathrius shenanigans. :D

New Druid Spell - Unending Swarm
This is a great refill card for token druid. Also makes Wither and Elder Nadox more viable but even adding this to a nature beast aggro druid is good

Depending on the rotation Animate Dead might be top tier. You essentially get a 1 mana: Resurrect a combo piece (e.g. Radiant Elemental).
In my book it's 4 stars in Constructed, in Arena it's a highroll 2-3 cost minion for 1, so not so bad either.
