  • Galakrond, the Unbreakable

This card is amazing, good for tempo warrior! Even gonna be decent in control warrior once Dr. Boom rotates out

  • Out of Cards Reviews - Descent of Dragons Reveal Season #1

Because "and this Deathrattle" is part of the Deathrattle itself, it comes for the ride each time and keeps the chain going. Talritha should function more or less how Val'anyr does, assuming you still have Dragons to attach to.

  • Out of Cards Reviews - Descent of Dragons Reveal Season #1

Doesn't Talritha's effect only trigger twice ("giving the deathrattle" only happens once), or was Reddit wrong?

  • New Neutral Minion - Evasive Drakonid

    B-I-N-G-O!!!
Powercreep, here it is : Diagonal Bingo!
And the reveal season is just starting :P

  • New Rogue Spell - Seal Fate

I can see this being in every spell discover options. Would be surprised if it see lots of play out of that context, or I may be underestimating Galakrond's builts.

  • New Neutral Minion - Shield of Galakrond

Neutral Taunt are often key to define a meta.
I think we'll see lot of that one, if Galakrond decks are as strong as everyone expect it to be.

  • New Neutral Minion - Shu'ma

  • New Paladin Minion - Nozdormu the Timeless

    Mana is Time
    Time is Mana

Is see what they did there

  • New Priest Minion - Envoy of Lazul

    Quote From troY

Am I stupid for thinking this is a pack filler? It's decent but nothing special and doesn't really do much for excisting Priest decks.

I personally appreciate cards that reward your attention to detail and ability to read the game.
I see it as a clever way to bring back - to some restricted extend - [Hearthstone Card (Curious Glimmeroot) Not Found] in Standard.

  • Out of Cards Reviews - Descent of Dragons Reveal Season #1

Archivist Elysiana, Jepetto Joybuzz, Chef Nomi, Barista Lynchen and Archmage Vargoth

Zephrys the Great, Siamat, King Phaoris, Colossus of the Moon and Octosari

These were all the Neutral Legendaries of the past two expansions: some more, some less, they've all seen play and have been meta defining in their own way. Moreover, all of them seem to have a specific role (finisher, value generator, threat, card draw) which is arguably well performed in every case.

On the other side, we have Shu'ma: the more I look at this card the more I'm convinced we're all sleeping on it. There's no way Team 5 decided to print what looks like a terrible legendary without a reason (yeah, you can hit me with Duskfallen Aviana, but it's been almost 2 years since that tragic day).

I mean, if you play a swarm deck you'd like to be controlling the board for turn 7 or having already won: with Shu'ma you spend 7 mana for a 1/7 your opponent can easily trade into and you'd get 6 1/1s only if your board is completely empty (which would be tragic if you're an aggro/swarm deck).
I really hope we'll get some card that will justify this (apparent) crap, cause I know that I'll find it and I hate having another Blackhowl Gunspire-level card sitting in my collection.

This is a 2/5, closer to 1 than to 3. If anyone has different opinions on Shu'ma, feel free to reply: I'd be gladly wrong since bad Legendaries are always tragic for players.

  • My list on the America's server is almost identical, except with a Rotten Applebaum instead of Zilliax (due to dust scarcity) but it's solid. You can easily climb to rank 15, and 10 as well as the deck is pretty intuitive. Good luck!

  • Reveal season - card discussion in 3 places

    Quote From sinti
    Quote From Ethardoth

I still think the best option would be to concentrate all discussion on a card on its card page. Why? I think in the long run it will benefit the players who searched for the card, so they can see all opinions in one place. People discussing on three different places seems a bit confusing and chaotic to me.

The way it is now, all those discussions one day will be buried in forum and forgotten. It would be fun to see those opinions later when meta is solved. Card page traffic may be low now but it can be boosted with promotion.

We do include the link to the card's discussion thread in its card page. So that should cover what you're asking here, basically. If you want to see what ppl had to say about it on release, you can just click the button and read the thread.

I understand what ur saying, but in the end i guess it is the matter of preference and this is how we approach this. For now anyway.

It is good to raise these questions tho, so we can see that ppl might be interested for us to do certain things differently and we can then take that into consideration going forward ;-)

I'm sorry, I haven't noticed the button until now. That changes my opinion, and I sure do respect your decisions, just wanted to add some constructive criticism. Learned something new in the end!

I think that separating pre- and post-release opinions is indeed a good idea.

  • New Priest Spell - Time Rip

    Quote From allthehype

Priest already has removal so I’m not too impressed. This will be cut for other invokers.

Are you going to cut this card in favor of other invokers, or are you going to cut other removal tools in favor of this card?

Being able to destroy any minion makes this better than Shadow Word: Death and arguably better than Forbidden Words.

  • New Hunter Minion - Dwarven Sharpshooter

Steamwheedle Sniper saw quite a bit of support back in the day because The Grand Tournament was the inspire set: all about hero powers. The big distinction between the two cards is that Dwarven Sharpshooter has a better statline for its manacost but, more importantly, the ability lines up so much more cleanly: On turn two you can use HP without wasting mana to presumably negate your opponent's play. If they chose not to develop onto the board then the Sharpshooter has already done its job and you can get even further ahead by playing more minions.

Steamwheedle Sniper doesn't line up well with your mana curve at all unless you coin it on turn one. Otherwise your opponent can play a 3 health minion and effectively negate the effect, not to mention the fact that spending two mana on turn three is pretty painful. It's also worse as a "removal spell" because you're paying 4 for 2 damage instead of 3.

I think the only real question is whether there will be a competitive Hunter deck. If there is, Dwarven Sharpshooter will be in it.

I did neglect to mention the support from The Grand Tournament since Goblins vs Gnomes rotated out in the year of the Kraken (since I am talking about standard), but I didn't really consider those cards being that great to use in a hunter deck since they were not that aggresive and did not support hunters hero power.  Even Brave Archer, pretty much the only inspire card that helped your hero power, was too weak because of its condition. Yes you could use Steamwheedle Sniper to push a more value/control oriented hunter deck, but you couldn't just make such a deck while only relying on a 2 mana minion.

Nonetheless, I do agree with you that this card being 1 mana is far superior than it being 2 mana for disrupting your opponents turn 2 play. Having it being able to kill any 1-3 health minion on turn 2 will be something that a slower control deck would love to have. I guess even an aggresive hunter deck wouldn't mind running this card since it is a 1 mana 1/3 that can prevent your opponent from contesting your early game board and give you tempo.

So like you said, if there is a competitive hunter deck, this card will see play.

  • New Rogue Minion - Waxadred

This one’s definitely one to look forward to, even more so if it doesn’t just go dormant when it dies, since that’ll open it to up all sorts of deathrattle abuse

  • New Rogue Hero - Galakrond, the Nightmare

Definitely a really strong card, the only thing that could drag it down would be not enough good invoke cards. Would definitely suck to draw a few of the cheaper invokes with that battlecry though

  • Out of Cards Reviews - Descent of Dragons Reveal Season #1

I consider Warrior's Galakrond as a much stronger tool for Tempo Warrior instead of Control. We still need to see the invoke cards and the invoke payoff card as well. Then we will know which direction they were aiming for with this card.

  • New Priest Spell - Time Rip

Seems too expensive for removal, even if you’re getting a random priest minion for it as well

  • New Druid Spell - Secure the Deck

    Quote From ArngrimUndying

3 mana for 6 attack and 6 armor once you completed the sidequest (which will be completed very easily - I'm legit surprised they only require 2 hero attacks to trigger). I see people already talking about Gonk Druid coming back, but even without him that has some real burst potential. Heck do the sidequest twice and on 10 mana you can have 12 hero dmg plus another 4 off Swipe plus 2 more from double Moonfire = 18 total dmg assuming no spell dmg buff - nothing to sneeze at...

This is a very good point. Side quests can be doubled-up, and the burst potential of the completed quest isdefinitely not to be underestimated. It's basically a 3-mana fireball that also gives you 6 armor ... not sure why people are thinking that is bad for some reason, especially when all you have to do is what druids do already anyways.

  • New Hunter Spell - Clear the Way

There are enough good hunter rush cards for this to take up a deck slot. I'm sure it sees play in some form. Nothing amazing, but not that shabby either.

Lol didnt see it until now :o

  • New Hunter Minion - Dwarven Sharpshooter

    Quote From Farfelee

Almost all 1 mana 1/3 minons have ended up seeing some amount of competetive play, except for Animated Berserker and maybe Warbot (I don't remember) and this card has a strong effect to accompany it. You could say that it's weak since Steamwheedle Sniper saw little play, but it didn't have the synergy that we have now with cards such as Dragonbane, Toxic Reinforcements, Phase Stalker and maybe even with Waterboy and it's 1 mana.

While I really like the card, I am afraid that it won't be strong enough since it supports a more control oriented strategy, the cards (mentioned above) that synergize with it are more aggresive in nature and you will probably prefer to just keep going face. Don't get me wrong, you could use Phase Stalker to pull defensive secrets and use Dragonbane for board control, but hunter usually ends up going back to its aggresive nature.

  • New Hunter Spell - Toxic Reinforcements

It's just a really bad card to use unless you are able to get it in your starting hand or draw it on turn 2. And even if you do get it early enough, it will kinda bully you into using your hero power, making you lose your early game aggression for a small payoff. Just seems like a hard card to use.
