This could have been amazing... and almost was... but N'Zoth, the Corruptor and Mysterious Challenger have turned Standard into Wild Lite---i.e., first to draw degenerate combo wins. I think they went just a little too far. Without those two cards (and maybe something more playable for Warlock), it would have been pretty good.
I have been playing a lot of Warlock lately, and I keep thinking to myself "What if Warlock got Defile instead of Renounce Darkness?" Defile would have been a true game changer for Warlock, but alas...
Defile would be too recent, but Demonwrath could have solved so many problems for Control Warlock. As it stands you can't deal with an early board before Hellfire which means you basically lose to Murloc Tidecaller 100% of the time. At the very least Darkbomb could have made it in.
I have the same problem with Warlock And Mage. Put the new heroes as favourite, even assigned them individually to the decks of the class, but still when I enter play the hero is the "normal" one.
Thanks for the information! A customized homepage with game filtering is really good. I'd like to suggest that really big announcements are displayed on the homepage, even if they belong to games not selected by the user, for example announcing a new game.
Keep up the good job!
Agreed, some stuff definitely should still be visible to everyone. We'll be sure to have a way to flag articles so they always get included :
Thanks for the infos and for keeping us always updated on what you and the Staff are working on to improve OoC!
The idea of a costumizable home page is really nice and would indeed be appreciated, expecially becuase by covering multiple games each member probably wants to highlight only some of them. Looking onward to see it implemented!
It seems more similar to MTG than to HS, in terms of gameplay's complexity. Being on mobile would indeed be the main reason that will grant it the chance to eat on HS playerbase, expecially on oriental market since it's tied to LoL.
Let's see if LoR will be a good competitor that will force Blizzard to finally evolve HS, since Artifact was a complete fail and this has already so many things the community asked for ages that are implemented into it since the start (a better economic system, decktracker and personal stats, more interaction between players, no RNG everywhere and the like).
Maybe the animations are a bit too "loud" but seems good and entertaining.
I should also mention, one other very significant difference between Eternal and Hearthstone is the way that "mana" works. In Eternal, "mana" is called "power" and it has different colors. There are not different classes to differentiate cards and decks (like in Hearthstone); instead, each card has a color requirement (red - Fire; blue - Primal; yellow - Time; purple - Shadow; and green - Justice). Your deck size is 75 cards, but at least 25 of those cards have to be power. So, your "mana" is provided by cards in your deck; it does not automatically get added each turn.
Summary version:
Eternal "mana" is called power
Power comes in different colors
Power is granted by cards, not automatically
The power cards have a lot of variety. Some of them do not give power on the turn they are played; you get the power the following turn. Some of them only give one color. Some of them allow you to choose which color you get. Some of them give two colors. Some of them let you choose from three different colors.
In the simplest possible terms, Eternal is a streamlined version of Magic: The Gathering, for those who are familiar with Magic. It has many very similar mechanics, and the combat rules are similar, though it has fewer response windows, which speeds up the game-play. It is also quite possibly the friendliest Free-To-Play model of any digital card game. You literally get a daily free pack just for winning your first pvp game of the day.
For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, here is the longer explanation. Have you ever been frustrated by the fact that Hearthstone only lets you do things half the time (i.e. on your own turn)? That there is very little you can do about an aggro beatdown, aside from try to throw a taunt in the way? Then Eternal might be worth a shot. The game-play is quite a bit more complex and interesting than Hearthstone, AND you can interact with your opponent on both your own turn AND their turn as well.
When your opponent attacks, they do not decide which creature hits which creature; you, as the defender, decide that. You also decide whether to just let them hit your face instead of a creature. There are also spells called "fast spells" which can be played during your opponent's turn, if you saved mana for them.
I'll stop there for now, but if any of this is interesting to you, head on over to the Reddit and check out the first two pinned posts there. The first is a great place to ask questions; the second is a place to get a referral link that gets you some freebies in game. https://www.reddit.com/r/EternalCardGame/

Eternal is my favorite card game; they just introduced a new game mode; they currently have a good drops campaign going in Twitch; AND they just released a new set. It's an exciting time to be playing it.
Thanks for the information! A customized homepage with game filtering is really good. I'd like to suggest that really big announcements are displayed on the homepage, even if they belong to games not selected by the user, for example announcing a new game.
I've added a forum for Eternal. The game has been around long enough and so I'm willing to give it a shot. If the forum doesn't attract much traffic though, we may have to just have a thread in the general gaming section :P
Also, for anyone out there that wants to request a forum for another card game - I'll definitely consider the request, but I have to have a good enough feeling that it'll be used. If it isn't used, it just takes up extra space and it may be better served by a single mega-thread for the game. Starting a mega-thread for a game and seeing how it does on the site is a good way to showcase we should put up a forum for it.
Been playing quest druid for two seasons to get my 500 druid wins. Last season the deck was ok, this season has been harder. Bringing back certain cards has only benefitted certain classes, I really hate seeing N'Zoth back in the mix. I wish they'd just keep standard standard. I don't want to see this old nonsense again.
If you managed to get to rank 3 with your N'Zoth warlock then keep going I say. If you went a bad run I'd say you were just unlucky as you've already proved the deck.
I wanted to just keep everyone in the loop where we're at when it comes to support multiple card games on the site.
As you've probably seen, we've begun to cover Legends of Runeterra, a card game from Riot Games which uses the lore of League of Legends. Right now, it is not possible to avoid seeing these articles on the homepage. I know this may be an inconvenience for some of you that only play Hearthstone, but do know that this is temporary. I am working on a solution that will allow logged-in users to customize their homepage preferences and logged-out users to at least be able to hide articles from other games.
Legends of Runeterra appeared out of nowhere so we were a bit unprepared for this. We're still looking to add Magic Arena support to the site by the end of year, so don't worry magic fans, we're with you on that!
The Navigation will be receiving a large update that will allow for game selection. We'll likely let logged-in users select their default navigation. The homepage will also be receiving a change at some point that will become generalized to all the titles we support and not just Hearthstone specific. At this time, we'll add in dedicated landing pages for all the games we support that will showcase things like decks, events, and discussions. We'll also give logged-in users the ability to convert the site homepage to one that supports only one game if they would like to.
I know some may not be a fan of us supporting multiple games, but it has been a goal of ours since the beginning. Especially when you see how Hearthstone can do so many things wrong, should the game every die we'd hate to lose the community we've created. Only good things can come from having multiple games supported on the site!
We'll likely be looking for some new volunteers to help with Legends of Runeterra, so if you're interested in that stay tuned for more information and be sure to stay active on the forums and discord! Anyone who is active on the site, showing their knowledge and helping out others is more likely to join our awesome team. We're also eventually going to look for people who want to help cover Magic Arena before we start on that, so stay tuned there as well.

There are some very good budget decks that players have put together, to help you get into the game fast.

Runeterra BBCode Support for Card Links and Images
We've got support on the site for Runeterra card BBCode! Whether you want to link to a card or link the card's image, both are available.
Garen
You may also change the size of card images through the size attribute. (Max of 400 pixels)
If you want a non-collectible card specifically, in the case two cards share a name, you can use the token option with either runecard or runecardimg.
The Logic Behind It
Here's how it works without any modifying options.
Which region are you most excited to play?
Legends of Runeterra has 6 different regions that you can use to build decks with. You may build a deck with one region of cards or two.
Here are each of their playstyles from what I've seen so far.
Shadow Isles
Lots of death and resurrection!
Ionia
Control. The mechanic "Recall" forces units back to your opponent's hand.
Piltover & Zaun
Tons of spells!
Demacia
Large armies with buff mechanics. Just hanging out with your friends.
Noxus
Aggro. Enjoy cards that can't be blocked and only serve to go face.
Freljord
Freezing. Plenty of control through Frostbite which sets the power (attack) of a unit to 0.
