Well boys, Flamewaker is breaking the game again. Whats new
Highlander Hunter can beat it pretty consistently, as can any deck doesn't lose to a single boarclear essentially. All Flamewaker can really do is a one turn wipe + burst, and after that they need to RNG further pressure from Cyclone or lose
After trying the deck for myself, I realise how much i get highrolled by the deck. It is incredibly hard to actually get the combo pieces, and by the time they are there, you simply do not survive half the time. It is a very high-rolly deck and you lose most of the time. But when you win, my God do you just delete people
I'M kinda numb to it at this point. I got highrolled by Shaman so much in the past weeks that this just doesn't register as much. Overall we got a lot of really highrolly combos with the update, so I don't think Mage is really going to stick out for too long. I'm more worried about Quest Priest at this point. If they get to play a minion and then follow it up with Psychopomp there's basically no way for any deck that isn't control Warrior to actually beat them (and even those have trouble)
I feel that after the event patch went live, the meta is going to be so control-oriented that zoo won't be viable (check HSReplay occasionally if you want). I would personally craft neither of them and wait for the next expansion, since neither of those cards is playable in Wild either.
Give my refined "Highkeeper Ra Handlock" a go instead, if you want to play some control Warlock during the event!
Initial Impressions of dual Arenas after about 100 games.
My choices for 1st/2nd class. Anecdotal.
Paladin, Warlock, Shaman / Rogue, Warlock, Mage
Establishing early board is extremely important. In general, there seems to a be a lack of quality reactive offerings to make strong come backs with. What that means is, if you get ahead, you will likely STAY ahead and win.
The format (no buckets) rewards strong drafting knowledge. Without strong come from behind cards, having good drafting fundamentals goes a longer way. Curve and Tempo is king. Make sure you have proper "curve" minions (a 3 mana 2/2 is NOT a curve minion), a mix of initiative and some way to finish off games. There's no more predictive drafting, where we expect certain cards to pop up because the pools and buckets were so limited. Sometimes you just have to make Lemonade when you are offered lemons, this is the beauty of a system without buckets.
Defensive cards seem to be premium. Less taunts (Bone Wraith, War Bear, Kharut Defender) means less ways to prevent face damage. There also seems to be less good healing options as well (Voodoo Doctor, Farseer removed). A good sized taunt (even something as average as a 3/8 for 6 mana) is a nice luxury minion and usually is extremely hard to remove since the Meta is lacking removal cards in general. Bog Creeper and Tar Creeper feel ultra premium right now.
Removal is a premium. A deck full of good statted bodies is great, but you'll still need at least 1 or 2 strong removal cards to deal with trouble taunts, or to swing the game back while you are going 2nd. Take them early in your drafts to make sure you have it. In general, it feels like removal is more scarce, but i haven't dived too deep into the details just anecdotal. (I did get psy screamed 3 times yesterday on curve, DOOM'd, as well as Dragon Fired all in one day)
Take your time. Lots of cards we haven't seen for a while so don't make dumb misplays by not reading the cards. (I played Plague Scientist twice without the combo, and I played Doom Pact thinking it was Army of the Dead, all in 1 day) This also means to take some time to familiarize yourself with the card pools.
Don't play around anything - this is just my general feeling, but usual culprits like Scorcher on 5 or Flamestrike on 7 are not applicable here. Most decks are just so janky and fragile, you can't afford to play around anything most of the time and developing + face is generally correct.
Overall i'm enjoying it. It feels more like Arena (bad decks, limited synergies, rewards drafting and game play fundamentals like trading) Some negatives would probably include lack of class identity and neutralstone which favors the class with the better hero power. Another negative is the strength of going 1st. Without strong reactive cards, most deck archetypes will lean towards early tempo and aggression, this favors heavily the player going 1st. Its similar to the Rise of Mechs meta where early tempo was key.
Just some random thoughts so far, let me know if you agree or disagree, and your experiences.

Supreme Archaeology is kinda terrible...even in N'zoth Plot twist Warlock (which is actually playable now) it's still kinda terrible. The reward just isn't essential for anything you put in the deck, so it's mainly just a gimmick.
Literally the biggest upside of playing the Quest is that you get to use Questing Explorer.
ofc I'M not doing any of that... I'M NOT THE ONE PRETENDING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Jesus I swear you were all dropped on your head as a baby.
I'm calling all you grovelling shitweasels out for being hypocritical weaklings who pretend to be all principled and righteous while doing nothing of value and patting each other on the back. You're the exact kind of vermin that allows all this shit to happen by propagating the idea that this "internet activism" actually has an effect other than fellating your ego.
You're a fraud and weak. I hope all the bad things in life happen to you and nobody else and I hope your eventual demise is a visually ironic one. Go to hell where you and all the other wannabe revolutionaries belong and come back when you're not just a self-congratulatory worm whose only purpose in life is to make themselves feel like they did something of value.
I know that everyone has different play styles and perspectives and both of these are not high on the want list for most players. But I'm a dedicated Warlock player and both of these cards just look fun. I know that neither are going to be the game breaker like Bloodreaver Gul'dan was. In fact, both are probably only going to be in theme/meme decks.
So my question is this, what has everyone's experience been with either of these cards?
Flamewalker is absolutely disgusting with all the cheap mage spells they have now and also the elemental that gives them a million spells for vomiting out all the spells they already had in their hand.
I took over 30 damage from two flamewalkers on turn 8 the other day. That was in addition to killing off my minions which had a combined health of 21. How is that not absolutley ridiculous?
While doing day 1/2 nzoth decks was super fun, i'm already tired of it on day 3 because it's all i'm queuing into. So I'm just farming them with HW paladin. They can tech against it with Hakkar but it'll take a while for people to catch on and Hakkar is pretty bad in every other matchup for them.
Yeah, we're all SUPER sure you're boycotting all Chinese products. And China definitely noticed one moron on the Internet pretending he's boycotting their manufacturing - what an amazing difference you've made.
Blizzard cares a LOT MORE about the uproar in their player base than China does about your fake boycott that you're not even actually taking part in. Stop being a coward online and start speaking up for what's right instead of chastising people who are braver than you.
Do the new hero skins have the same voice lines as pre-1k wins skins? does the "enter play" animation differ from the golden one? what about the "use hero power" animation?

What to Craft now?!?!?
Dark Pharaoh Tekahn is competitive (in zoo warlock). Supreme Archaeology is horrible.
So yeah, that.
What to Craft now?!?!?
Hey everyone, I'm looking for advice on my next craft. I want to craft either Dark Pharaoh Tekahn or Supreme Archaeology.
I know that everyone has different play styles and perspectives and both of these are not high on the want list for most players.
