Highlander Hunter can beat it pretty consistently, as can any deck doesn't lose to a single boarclear essentially. All Flamewaker can really do is a one turn wipe + burst, and after that they need to RNG further pressure from Cyclone or lose
I think we will see Warlock using Expired Merchant to give him more than one N'Zoth, the Corruptor. I faced it once already and saw it on a stream. It has almost infinite board fill with taunts that heal, kinda like the old taunt lock where Guldan resurrected all your demons and you had to kill all the taunts again. Except here it is worse, since they can do it 4 times.
tried that, but the unfortunate downside is that N'zoth will end up summoning the Merchants as well and with every merchant dead every next N'zoth will summon even more.
If there was a way to consistently get Flamewaker, SA and Luna on the board with the rest of your deck/hand being 1-mana spells...before the opponent walks over you...I will try to figure out a way how to do this when I have the time :).
AH! I did not know about the Barnes/Y'Shaarj thing - so that explains it. Thanks for clearing that up!
I love a good RNG meme deck as much as the next guy (Burgle Rogue/Thief Priest are some of my favorite decks), but this was just too much - Renounce give you either a fantastically synergistic deck that allows for a steamroll (very rare) or you get a bunch of disjointed junk that gets you bodied (mostly this). I'll probably still kick it around between now and December, but man were my expectations way out off base with this one!
Yep. I played this deck a bunch when it was new. It was fun, and had a respectable (not great) win rate, but most of my wins came via Barnes>Y'shaarj. Similar to the spell hunter that was around at that time. I said in another thread that I was really puzzled Blizzard chose this card for the event because it is really not good and Warlock is already in a bad spot. Either Blizzard is clueless or there is some Renounce unicorn deck nobody has discovered yet.
I do not think it is straight trash but more a first attempt. The coming weeks will lead to more consistent variants is my expectation. I tried one variant with secret package and one without; both are fun but I always kept Antonidas to close the deal late game. I think I will now first try some mecha'thun combo against all that n'zoth trash.
i agree it will improve. I was just saying that the the all in otk thing thats popular right now is not a good or sustainable build,. Flamewaker, generally, is the nuts, and I'm sure better versions will be found.

I packed an Octosari and it's very decent refill for aggro decks not sure why you would struggle much with card draw in a highlander build...Simiat is very good probably your safest craft. Darius is not great low level craft priority unless you only play warrior
It was bad "back in the day" and even worse now regretfully...they could update it to cards cost "2 less" to play and it still wouldn't be playable because deckbuilding requires synergies, end of.
Even if you enjoy playing pure meme decks, presumably you throw synergy in your deckbuilding.

Great statement by kibbles. I hope more employees and contractors come out against Blizzard's decision, not to mention consumers. Blizzard wanted to send a message to chill speech, but instead we can send them the message that acting like the proxy arm of the chinese government is not a good look.

The problem you're having if you took a deck that you ALREADY KNEW was a RNG meme, and expected to enjoy playing it when you don't enjoy playing the game that way. I don't understand the reason for the thread tbh. Literally pikachu face meme, "I can't believe the random cards are bad" :O
This is exactly my point. If you're playing a meme deck and your goal is to win, you're not going to have fun. Playing an RNG meme deck is fun because of all the stupid stuff that can happen from playing it, not because you can win.
Being a fun wacky deck with lots of randomly generated cards isn't synonymous with being a bad deck. Burgle rogue, cyclone mage and quest shaman are or have been top competitive decks that rely *heavily* on randomness, discover effects etc.
If you want to define "meme" as "unplayably bad" only to argue that unplayably bad decks are unplayably bad and people who enjoy winning should steer clear of "memes", congratulations on the tautology but you're clarifying exactly nothing there. Find me the people who are clamouring for a "fun" losing experience and I might take this argument a bit more seriously.

Like demanding them what to play isn’t also a cut in their personal freedom. Also as if any of these whiners would burn everything they own that China was involved with and live in the woods from mother nature.

Octosari can be great in several ways (plus you can do some meme combos with him) but is a dangerously dead draw in the late game. ...yes it does, but keep in mind i made this deck for fun i l played on ladder and i won some games. i was like whoa ok.

Octodaddy goes better in an tempo deck which is the one u want. Siamat is good on a variety of decks and archetype.
