I'm going to definitely try this out against my buddy day 1 of the xpac. I have pretty much every card and have had little use for them so I'm glad to see something so hilarious.
I just had another cool idea for how Baku could be changed (although this might make her too strong). What if instead of giving you an upgraded Hero Power she lets you choose one of the alternate Hero Powers from the Dalaran Heist adventure? Ignoring that this would probably never happen, given that Blizzard usually just buffs or nerfs cards instead of changing them, do y'all think it would be a cool change? It could allow for some really exciting new strategies for classes that are limited by their Hero Powers. For example, an odd control Hunter might be viable!
Sure it's a cool idea but I think it would only exacerbate the problem. It's not addressing the fundamental problem with these cards, namely that they're always affecting the game from the get-go, resulting in fairly predictable gameplay that relies heavily on the hero power (and thus is even less dependent on draws). On top of that, these quest reward heropowers are arguably stronger than the upgraded standard ones and certainly have a lot more build-around potential.
I have to say I don't think Genn and Baku can be effectively nerfed without fundamentally altering how they work. That's probably why they got unceremoniously yeeted out of standard to begin with. Sure you could make the minions themselves total garbage, but they kinda already are and that's not why they're being played. The hero powers are really tricky to rebalance since they copied the Justicar Trueheart ones instead of implementing new ones from the get-go, and whereas with Genn there's not much you can change without introducing fractions into the game.
If nothing else I just hope Blizzard learns to avoid this type of hard deckbuilding restriction balancing (see also: Keleseth), which I find to be unpleasant to play against and typically very hard to balance.
I think I’ve been excited for at least 70% of the cards revealed so far! There are some string and flavorful cards rolling out next month. One that will be really cool given the popularity of lackeys is Dark Pharaoh Tekahn for warlock.
I think a log of all card nerfs/buffs/changes could be done and would be a neat feature.
We already have that actually :) And card changes listed in those patches are also associated with cards and shown on their card pages, for example look at Molten Giant's page.
I wasn't exactly clear, I meant more of a card gallery of all the individual cards that have been changed over the years. Sure you can find that information if you dig through all of the changelogs, but it's not the most convenient method. I hadn't noticed that the card database also lists changes, and that's a great feature, but again, unless you already know which cards have been changed you'd have to go through all of the cards to find out.
I understand if it's not remotely a priority, but I think it would be cool to have a sort of rogues gallery of all the cards that had to die for their sins.
Half your pings are from the token, so you don't take face damage for those. If you often spread the attacks, you can face-tank the smaller damage, while if you often direct both attacks at the same target you would be taking a lot of face damage indeed. My guess is that reborn and lackeys will play a significant role in the meta, in which case spreading attacks is often possible and useful, but it's hard to predict a meta.
One concern I have is that unlike Candleshot and Springpaw, you can't play this on turn 1, so you'd either have to find a different 1-drop or don't play anything on turn 1 and thereby give up on 1 "free" mana.
Another comparison is Muster for Battle: that's also 3 mana, gives you a comparable weapon (one charge more) and 3 tokens with possible synergies. Not receiving all your tokens at once is both an advantage and disadvantage: it makes you less vulnerable to AoE and gives you the opportunity to summon a beast for 0 mana when you need it for synergy, but it doesn't put as many offensive stats on the board immediately. In terms of synergy I think beasts are better than dudes were in GvG: Quartermaster wasn't played much until more dude cards came out.
Seems like an improved Piranha Launcher since it was pre Rush, now it actually makes sense to spawn tokens since they can immediately impact the board. However, I still don’t know if it’s up to snuff. Maybe if reborn becomes a consistent problem as this does help ping the copy that comes back.
these changes sound pretty good, although I guess you can also use Swipe for the otk. so maybe it better to keep that. and doomsayer or pyro (without acolyte) don't draw any cards tho... with more single copies of cards you can get the combo more often, cause of the Elise condition.
Although you are totally right, with those taunts. when u have claw or pounce, they can be killed with savagery as a 6th card (for that it was already in the deck). I think I will add a new list of actions for this one, aswell as for the combo with swipe as the 5th card.
I think we should focus more on what kind of changes would be interesting instead of how likely a change is, especially given how Team 5 has been changing the rules up lately (take the Boomsday buffs for example)
Saviors of Uldum - 5 Pack Bundles Giveaway

Mogu Cultist, because memes.
Very OP deck in the latest tavern brawl
That brawl really answers questions which are "What is meta?", "How does meta shape?" and "What if we don't balance the game?"
All of the Brawl decks will be "Mercenaries 14" after everyone beats everyone.
I have played like 20 games against "Mercenaries 14" as "Mercenaries 14".
It is what happened back in Jade Druids vs Pirate Warriors meta. There were only those two decks around in that time.

Anka, the Buried is my favorite so far because I like Deathrattle Rogue.

Imagine being able to Tome of Origination a Voidlord or Mal'Ganis into play on turn two. Yikes.
