High Priest Amet since I'm always looking for new ways to OTK and Priest is probably my favorite class!

  • Odd reaction to an arena win

I haven't done an Arena run in some time, as I'd been tryharding on Ranked and messing around with the Solo content. I figured I'd give it a go with the new card sets, and had a blast going up 2-0 to start.

The odd reaction? "Where's my loot card?" Not a suggestion or anything, just a funny thought that went through my head. Wondering if anyone else had such a thought.

  • Idea for Genn and Baku Nerfs

I think this version would make Baku Decks actually interesting decks instead of normal decks with cards of lower powerlevel and an overpowered Hero Power

  • Idea for Genn and Baku Nerfs

    @Ali Radicali

I didn't mean the quest Hero Power, rewards, I meant the alternate Hero Powers that were only available in the Dalaran Heist Solo content. For example, if you played odd paladin you would be given the choice between 2 mana "Add three Silver Hand Recruits to your hand" and 2-mana "Give a minion Divine Shield". This could be broken with some of the Dalaran Heist Hero Powers, like how the burgle Hero Power could give Burgle Rogue a lot of consistency or how the Priest Hero Power that swaps a minion's Attack and Health could lead to some easy combos.

Anka, the Buried because it's got the coolest reveal so far :)

  • What got you into Wild?

I was pretty miffed when Blizzard announced the standard/wild split not long after I crafted the original Dr. Boom. I "had" to play wild to justify that investment. I didn't even like Dr. Boom all that much; I only crafted it because I was sick of always being on the receiving end of that card.

In the beginning I split my time between the two formats. These days I play almost exclusively wild for the crazy combos, and I have no use for Dr. Boom.

Going off-topic here: I still think we should have been compensated in some fashion for the split, given that wild is still mostly treated as an afterthought.

My favourite has to be Colossus of the Moon. Although many don't find it popular its a great buff to one of my favourite decks, Big Shaman!

For me, my favorite card gotta be Anka, the Buried. So many combo potentials that could be unlocked by this card and I hope this could create a deathrattle/ combo deck that can be viable in the standard format.

    Plague of wrath !

May not be the best or most exciting card for standard, but as a wild player, it's a perfect fit for my Dead man's hand + Yogg-saron deck.

In the end, the key to a crazy deck is survivability, and this card sure helps!

  • What got you into Wild?

I left the game soon after the release of The Grand Tournament, and I returned just as Journey to Un'Goro came out. By then, my GvG and TGT cards had fallen into Wild, and I had missed all of the Adventures. I had the money, so I bought each of the Adventures and dove headfirst into Wild content.

Nowadays, I love Wild because that's where all of my favorite cards are. Chillmaw, Frost Lich Jaina, C'Thun, Fire Plume's Heart, Rhok'delar; all sorts of fun stuff is locked away in the past. If we could just buy Wild packs with gold, I would be a happy camper.

So far i like the new warlock legendary card the most. Dark pharaoh tekhan .Gonna craft it asap

  • Saviors of Uldum - 5 Pack Bundles Giveaway

Expired Merchant, as a wild warlock player this seems like it'll be great in a bunch of different decks, plus it's just a really cool effect.

    Elise the Enlightened

    Why? C-c-c-c-combos, baby!

  • Saviors of Uldum - 5 Pack Bundles Giveaway

My favorite card so far would have to be Plague of Flames because it requires a lot of set up and and can have so much upside that it will work as a really tech card for decks going wide and tall as well as maybe creating an egg style of warlock.

Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron, because you can never have too much Yogg

  • Are burnt out streamers good for HS?

It's a rough thing.  We've had a number of eras where many of the content providers stuck to the game because any other game wouldn't produce nearly as many views.  They are all now very happy with the game nowadays.

There's also the consideration that content providers aren't 'playing a hobby'.  They are doing a job.  There's  a line between hobby and job when you realize that you aren't doing something just for yourself but for someone else.  That's when you realize you can't just change or keep something because you prefer it.

But that's about the content provider.  Whether they stay in hearthstone when they don't enjoy it is based on how much of what they do is a hobby and how much is it a job. And them staying for the sake of work is...well.. just like staying in any job when things turn meh.

As far as hearthstone's health...it depends.

If the person has been playing for a long time and simply wants to move on then that's just life.  So long as new people step in to take their place then the game simply grows to the next generation.  If they dislike the game due to negative aspects though, it's a bad sign for the game, though far from unrecoverable.

Note that whether they DO leave is almost not an issue.  A person who is 'done' but stays while burnt out and a person who leaves instead does about the same damage overall.  Stagnating providers eventually lose their drive, which eventually turns off the public wihle making the game feel just as stale.  People that leave, meanwhile, bring woe and doomsayers.  Stay or go, te public knows you no longer want to play and will react accordingly.

So point is, it doesn't really matter if they stay or go.  Once they are burnt out, their reasons for feeling so are enough to affect the game, whether it's just a sign of the game moving to a new group or a sign of the game getting worse.  From there, actually staying or going only really affects the content provider.

Dinotamer Brann because there are no too many Branns!

  • Idea for Genn and Baku Nerfs

Genn and Baku doesn't need a nerf, period.

  • Saviors of Uldum - 5 Pack Bundles Giveaway

    Hunter's Pack

My fave class, and a strong card.

  • What got you into Wild?

I started playing wild immediately as soon the as the split happened. A couple reasons kept me playing wild early on (and still playing) and that was 1) I like the idea of 'owning' my cards instead of constantly throwing them away not that long down the road and 2) I enjoy combos and OTKs (especially meme ones) instead of following the same scripted standard metas where control and aggro play out almost exactly the same way that they always do.

  • Are burnt out streamers good for HS?

I first started thinking about this after noticing that Disguised Toast was doing a card reveal (and how he has been rather out of the HS spotlight for the time being, at least until new content releases). Then I thought back to Savjz (who I used to consume his Youtube content regularly before he quit HS. Now, I'm not saying that all streamers are burnt out on the game or that they even dislike the game. Nor, am I saying that specific streamers such as Toast are necessarily burnt out, as opposed to just taking a break (although at times I wonder if he really enjoys the game as much as his persona tries to sell his HS content, but that is complete conjecture).

However, it led me to the question in the title. If a streamer did start burning out and for whatever reason (mostly money probably) did not just quit the game and move on to something else, then would their half-hearted image and involvement in the game really be more of a good thing? I can't help but feel it would just create a little bit more potential for negativity in the community, or at least the false impression that the average player doesn't have fun with the game if some of the streamers in the public eye are burnt out.

    Thoughts?

  • Saviors of Uldum - 5 Pack Bundles Giveaway

Anka, the Buried by far. Good body, immediately useful in late game, battlecry makes it a great Shadowstep target. This might make Mecha'thun Rogue a thing.

  • Saviors of Uldum - 5 Pack Bundles Giveaway

    Riftcleaver

it has such a great effect with good stats and its a demon, the good of this is that it can be really good and really bad depending on the moment, for example: will you take 8 damage to kill a giant or will you trade something first to not take all the pain. but will surely see play on all my warlock decks.

What you call elitism I call experience with other games. It's up to you feel offended by what I said.

I call that an appeal to authority. If you have an argument to make it can stand on its own merits without you thumping your chest about your experience. You're not the only one who's played other card games and I don't see how that's terribly relevant to Hearthstone design philosophy.

Extremely warped? T5 hasn't nerfed Genn or Baku, nor have they hinted that they are going to. Debate with me all you want, but it still isn't changing the fact that the cards are currently here to stay. :)

"Thing hasn't happened yet so it can't happen" is a terrible argument. By that logic heavier-than-air flight was impossible prior to the wright brothers. Before the Patches and Raza nerfs Blizzard had never touched a Wild card. There's a first time for everything.

Despite your call to ax every thing you find irritating to play with, even when said aggressive decks actually under perform with win rates from more consistent older aggro decks (ie Pre nerf Pirate Warrior), that doesn't mean your personal preference has any meaningful say in what gets removed from the game. The goal of wild isn't to more or less make it the same thing as standard just with a bigger card pool.

Another non-argument. I can turn this same illogic back around on you and insist that just because *your personal preference* is for Wild to remain static and untouched doesn't mean T5 are going to act accordingly.

Obviously our opinions on card game design are subjective preferences, yours included.

It's actually quite relevant. I already mentioned before that more established card games, which HS very much follows the formula of, created formats both for a more static format and one that is quite fluid. If a player has little to no knowledge of the past giants/successes of CCGs, including how they generally have tried to design their various formats, then a newer player would be less likely to understand why HS making its own semi-static format & fluid format would make sense for this game. Hell, even throwing out terms like "eternal format" has the chance to fly completely over the head of some players who only have the knowledge of Hearthstone for a CCG. The relevance is in the breaking down of previous CCG static vs fluid formats if you just cave to every complaint and nerf every complained about card & deck in both standard and wild, because then you no longer have any format in Hearthstone that is static or semi-static, but merely two completely fluid formats with the only difference being the overall card pools.

Is my argument any worse than somebody saying that Genn & Baku needs nerfs because they're stale & 'unbeatable'? There has been zero evidence to suggest Blizzard is currently considering nerfing Genn/Baku at the moment so the opposition to my side of things is just as made up. At least on my end I brought up that other cards & entire decks technically create staleness in the format (and those are not nerfed). Genn & Baku are not even tier 0 (which is almost always when Blizzard steps in to make balance passes in wild). There is currently no objective grounds or hints from Blizzard HQ that either card will be nerfed.

You've established that a forum of public opinion is full of opinions. While I know my take on things is certainly not objective is still does nothing to prove any other opinion here so pointing out that I also have an opinion ultimately accomplishes nothing. I'm still waiting for the logical argument that impossibly proves that most wild players want Genn/Baku nerfed, or that they need to be nerfed.
