  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

Stupid f2p's and their f2p Standard format and their f2p agro decks, why would you limit yourself with cards, why won't you play the full game?
Why do you play Standard if you don't compete in Hearthstone tournaments?
And what is the reason people tryharding in Casual with tier 1 meta decks,  poor peasants probably don't even have more than 4 decks.
What is the fun in dumb agro decks or solitaire otk decks when you can play high intelligent control decks and actually make meaningful decisions and think about using resources unlike the others and actually interact with your opponent?

  • The Great Dalaran Heist Tuning Update - Bosses Nerfed & Buffed, Player Deck Changes

    Staff

Player deck buffs seem mostly solid. Especially getting rid of Lightspawn and Schemes was a good call.

  • Krapgar

The deck is very hard countered by decks like Mech Hunter in standard, and in wild the archtype is far from problematic so I don't see the point of nerfing another card or cards simply because standard is a train wreck because of its disastrously small card pool.

Plus, we have new cards coming out and I'd rather let card design shape the meta by introducing new counter strategies as opposed to the lazy design approach of requiring players to not think and just request artificial power exchanges from one deck to another by nerfing something that could have otherwise been handled with a new card that preyed on the weaknesses/strengths of other synergies.

Glad they nerfed heroic Haro again. This guy was more often than not a decisive loss for the player, unless you had a completely broken deck.

Glad they buffed some of the bosses as well - many of them felt too eaay for sure, but I just hope they didn't overdo it.

  • 'Bosses' of Dalaran

    Just a heads-up, I don't think Kazamon can be a 8th boss.

I like the changes they made to the hero decks for sure.

  • Out of Cards Changelog - 2019-07-02

    Staff Pro

We've been hard at work on a few things over the past week behind the scenes so not many user-facing things have changed. More stuff will be visible once we get into card reveal season =) I did want to keep everyone up to date though on what is going on with the site.

    New Features

    • Decks can now be filtered by dust cost! A great way to find budget options is to put 0 in the first box and 1600 (or less) in the second.
    • Decks can now be filtered by the cards that they contain.
    • Logged in users can now see how they have voted across the site and get real-time feedback on their votes.
    • Mobiles users can now access rating polls and related decks on card pages.
    • You can now see card ratings on the card pages. This is not finished being styled, but it was important to show the details.

    Changes

    • Pro deck listing on the homepage will now always display 5 decks, regardless of deck age.
    • Card pages will now always display 5 hot decks, regardless of deck age.

    Bug Fixes

    • Pages should no longer server error on certain comments. Sorry this took a while to get resolved.
    • Fixed an issue with padding on paragraphs on the site.
    • Fixed mobile issues with comments.
    • Fixed an issue where the site would not display your newly created comments until a page refresh.
    • Fixed issues where the displayed vote score was incorrect or inconsistent with the real data.
    • Hearthstone classes no longer appear out of alphabetical order across the site.
    • The calculation for how hot a deck is has been adjusted to fix incorrect weighting of decks with no votes.
    • Site supporter borders no longer look wonky in comments.

Also, it's worth mentioning that Blizzard announced Tavern Brawls are now going to last all week, so we're going to find a better way to display pro decks on the homepage - we can't have brawls taking it over all the time.

^ Buffing Grave horror to 11 would have indirect consequences on a bunch of other decks though. It probably wouldn't matter that much for Nomi priest, but any deck that runs sea giants and lackeys (zoo, water rogue, token druid, bloodlust shaman) can now evolve their sea giants into horrors (and then potentially MGs).

It wouldn't come up as often as the conjurer trick obviously, but especially with rogue it would be a pretty regular occurrence, and I assume people would just complain about that instead.

You'd need a sea giant in your deck, AND a witchy lackey you didn't immediately use.  And it's changing 1 minion for another.  If all CC did was convert a mountain giant into one Grave horror no one would care beyond face decks.  it's having an 7/8 AND a 8/8 or having 4 of the bloody things at turn 5-6 that sets people into a rage.

Besides, right now if you witchy a sea giant it turns into another sea giant anyway so we're not exactly talking about MAJOR UNLIMITED VALUE here. Turns out I was wrong here so this would give an advantage as now hitting a sea giant doesn't let you 'heal' it so there's that.  Also we're not talking about whether people complain since that always happens no matter what you do.  It's about whether the combo is too strong and if it is what can be done about it and buffing Grave 1 mana would do the job without gutting the deck (you still get 2-4 giants out of a CC. You just now have the ability to die if you do it at the wrong time).

Personally I don't think it's too strong to NEED a nerf, but a proposal like the above seems like a very elegant idea to keep the overall power level while removing one of the biggest complaints that is one of the annoying elements of the deck (also eliminates a 'coin flip win/lose' RNG element).

Of course you CAN question whether such a change is even needed.  But if you feel you do I feel this would do nicely for all parties involved.

  • The Uldum Pre-Order Patch - New Fire Festival Quest Details, Card Art Censorship, Card Changes, and More!

Wait, so all this horrible art changes just because of China? Pathetic. They could have put them for China only, just like they did with The Skeleton Knight. Also, they were alright with an old art for over 5 years but now it’s a problem? I guess when Chinese people see blood or a woman with cleavage, they instantly get a heart attack.

So will Multi-Shot deal 3x2 damage to one minion now? The text doesn't say "two different random enemy minions". So if there's is only 1 minion on there board, it should logically "randomly" hit the same minion with both shots. Just saying...

No, it's just 3 damage to one minion. I already witnessed this in Dalaran Heist and thougth the game broke as I was used to "must have two targets" situations and hadn't noticed that part of the patch notes.

Looks like we got some info about this from Dave Kosak (update in article above).

    Beware N'Zoth Decks xD

This is why I run both Shadowstep & Togwaggle's Scheme in my wild N'Thun Reno Rogue list. If you don't go as greedy as you can with control rogue you will almost always lose those attrition control matches against priest & warlock

  • Reno Jackson Paladin or Mage?

Reno's weapon has crystals on it which makes for a compelling Paladin argument at first glance (Crystology being the Paladin's theme from Boomsday). That being said, the evidence suggests that Reno is the Mage hero as has been mentioned already.

The fact that the Mage was one of the Highlander classes in MSG heavily influences the connection between Reno and the class, as well. We might see Reno once again function as a "if your deck has no duplicates" card.

  • New Priest Spell - Plague of Death

Black Hole in Yu-Gi-Oh was banned fairly early on in the game's life and this card is better than that. That should say something. This is just the priest version of warlocks getting Godfrey on top of having Defile already (IE Priests did not need yet another expensive F-You full board hard removal option).

  • Have you pre-ordered the expansion yet?

I may be later during the next paycheck. Right now I'm all locked down after a very pricey action figure purchase XP

  • No more sitting on that Tavern Brawl quest...

    Quote From AliRadicali

I hadn't seen that. I like it, although I expect it'll make the brawl feel slightly less special. I expect the deckbuilding brawls to be pretty monotonous by the end of the week when everyone's figured out the unbeatable combo.

*Shrugs* honestly most brawls are very easy to figure out early on, and then to counter during the deckbuilding TBs. I don't see this change resulting in any significant difference.

  • Reno Jackson Paladin or Mage?

Reno debate is Vol'Jin = Priest vs Hunter debate all over again ;P

  • Dalaran Crashes Into Blackrock Mountain - Blackrock Crash Brawl Rewards Old Seasonal Card Back

    Quote From Almaniarra

Really !? Now they are giving old card backs ?

Wtf is wrong with you Blizzard ? It was a limited time card-back. So with this way of considering, gaining new players are better than keeping old players in hand ?

Wrong decision. I'm not happy with this reward since im a player who plays this game since beta.

Edit: Ah and don't get me wrong. Im not saying that "how dare you don't give us new stuff!?" it is about exclusiveness. Giving the season 12 card back to players who didn't play at season 12 is wrong in my opinion. That's rude to the players who played in season 12. They "gained" it by playing in that season. Now they are giving this achievement to everyone.

    Rude.

I don't really consider this that earth shattering when you take another Blizzard game into consideration (WoW).

In WoW many of us hardcore mount collectors eventually started seeing mounts we spent months searching for, or grinding millions of gold for, etc eventually pop up on the BMAH. If a game like WoW was going to eventually open up extremely rare mounts or items up for many more people to get I wouldn't consider Blizzard opening up a card back that you spent almost no effort getting (rank 20 or 5 games is hardly exhausting effort) then I'm not crushed by the news honestly.
