Does Augmented Elekk copy Morrigan when her deathrattle triggers? Or does the game not consider 'swap' and 'shuffle' to be the same thing?
I definitely like the ideas going on here, even if it's probably not going to be the next T1 deck. I can always appreciate a wacky deck that tries to win in unorthodox ways. I don't have a Morrigan so I can't really give solid advice, but I wonder whether adding more spells (2nd siphon soul, twisting nether) might improve the consistency of your swaps. Then again it'd reduce the likelihood of dorian generating tokens, so there's that.
Good! Because right now, trying to play control decks in arena is just sad...
Not sure if that is going to change. Had 2 good runs since the patch, aggro druid and aggro warrior. Most games ended under 10 turns. Only mage opponents seemed able to extend past turn 10.
I'm always in a search for "the best undiscovered deck ever"!
99% of the time I fail, but when I discover something that hasn't been done before and it actually works, it is such a great feeling! I did this with another game and when it became a viable archtype I was so proud of me :D
I haven't been able to brew anything too original in Hearthstone to date and it has taken it's toll on me. Nowadays I rely more on netdecks, but I try to add something of my own in there every now and then. My biggest achievement (imo) was hitting legend back in the pre-nerf cubelock era when everyone was putting Doomguards in, but I stubbornly stuck with my my void daddy factory -mindset and got to legend with it!
OOC is obviously going to face an initial hurdle in the fact that Hearthpwn is the established site, but I'm confident it's only a matter of time before they lose that advantage. This site is brand spanking new and it's already at least on par with Hpwn in terms of functionality, with regular updates and a highly responsive administration promising more improvements in the future.
It's bizarre to me how much companies tend to undervalue their volunteer staff and fan communities. Whoever is taking over Hearthpwn is gonna have a hard time finding/retaining competent mods, at least in the short run.
Bad for Flux and his team because they didn't know Hearthpwn was up for sale at all. The actions taken by the ex-mod are unacceptable though, I hope that twat isn't part of the ooc team.
Bad for the new owner of Hearthpwn that basically don't have anything to do with it and now have to deal with some backlash. New owner seems to be a good guy from what I've read on reddit.
Looks like Curse really f*cked this up and created some unnecessary drama.
My primary impetus for building decks is the release of new content. I love to play around with new cards and see if they're up to snuff, even if it's fairly obvious from the card design and other available cards what the deck is going to look like. Hell, I even like playing around with cards that are pretty obviously bad (EG Pogo-hopper on release) to see if I can get the gimmick to work.
Other than that I also like to revisit cards that seem powerful but don't see too much play. Spirit of the Frog for example was a card that just seemed obviously broken, especially with Shaman's suite of burn spells, yet it was only seeing sporadic play in control shaman.
One thing that really discourages me from trying a new deck is when it's obvious from the outset that I'm going to need 3-6 legendaries that I don't have to build the deck. I'm fairly casual and mostly F2P so I don't really have mountains of dust to throw around.
Regarding Tech cards, I'm notoriously bad at keeping slots open for them. If there's a deck I play on ladder a lot I'll eventually come to the realisation that maybe adding weapon removal or a silence or w/e might be a bright idea, but most of my decks are initially built without tech cards included.
I've tried out several iterations on Dr. Morrigan lock and I feel like I have found a somewhat viable version (rank 10 atm, but from experience it would fare as well on rank 5). Feel free to critizise the card choices, almost a third of them are still floating.
My feeling is this is still a sleeper tier-3 deck ^^. At least it is fun and original, and from time to time that's what HS is all about, right?
I think you would make the same decision - imagine you have two sites - one that is well developped but dying, but you can save it if you come back. The other one which is very new and not in best shape currently, but you can make it better in future. Community already knows about both and is kind of torn between the two, but I think the one where Flux will stay will be the one to prosper ultimatelly.
So in this scenario, why would you choose a site owned by someone else (also in kind of weird way), rather than your own project?
Honestly, the main reason I used Hearthpwn was for the news announcements, guides, deck highlights, and occasionally the card design competitions. All of these are largely mod-driven (even things like winning decklists were often taken by mods from elsewhere and reproduced on Hearthpwn), so I will probably be sticking with OOC from now on unless the new owners of Hearthpwn somehow do a better job at implementing those aspects (which I doubt will be the case).
Too much confusion on HP to commit myself there anymore soon. You can't have the site on the verge of closing, twice, and then open it again. That's good for Casual users who barely login to post, not for regular ones.
And technically speaking, HP was a bad website, slow and full of trash, invasive ads to the point of continuous redirecting scams on mobile.
OOC just needs some more community, and for that to happen, it needs to become the new Web Nexus for anything HS. Maybe a related wiki page could help?
OOC still has a small community, and maybe it won't grow as much as i wish, but HP's destiny was handled too badly by their owners, that i don't feel like committing to there anymore.
Also, a large portion of HP forum content was just salty stuff of newish users who never really committed to the community: that may generate more activity, but half of the forum was turned into a huge salty thread, and people bashing each other more often than i like.
Finally, i am a half-time mobile user, and HP was incredibly bad at that, with scams, redirects, and slow loading pages. That's something i am not willing to tolerate anymore.
So unless OOC fails to have its proper flourishing, i am not going back to HP. Nor am i willing to spend my time on two sites supposed to be redundant with each other.
---
On a more practical side, should we have our own OOC wiki? To try and become the main Nexus for anything HS?
As long term user of Hearthpwn site, I can tell that only thing it keeping me using it still, it was for you guys.
You did excelent job there and i wish you keep doing it here, because this site is allredy 100% better than Hearthpwn.
I am speaking in terms of functionality, as I am web/backend programmer and this one is much more smother than Hearthpwn (web and android version). Of course, there is margine to improve but you guys are doing it very well.
So keep it this way!
P.D: Sorry if my english isn't correct, its not my native language.
Edit: Btw, if you can manage to have some sort of library as Hearthpwn has to see our collection sets and that stuff, it would be awesome. Thanks!
Bad news for outof.cards. There is no reason to split a user base so I will just go back to Hearthpwn. I'll check back here once in a while but lets be quite honest and frank...
1. Hearthpwn is an already established community with many users
2. The need of this website is not as direly needed as it was before
3. The traffic of this website never picked up and I was hoping it would when Hearthpwn went down
About 99% of us were hearthpwn users, there is no reason to continue using this website. I really like outof.cards but I live in the realm of reality and I'm not going to say outof.cards is promising. But you never know, maybe the new owner of Hearthpwn really messes it up. Very happy Hearthpwn is staying around, I am not happy of how Flux and the team got stabbed in the back. It all depends on how everything goes. I pick unity over siding with great moderators. This game requires large volumes of input from many users. You are only lying to yourself saying most of the community moved here, it didn't, it's still at Hearthpwn.
I hope Flux gets his day in the end of all of this.
I start with a combo, gimmick or card that I think is underrated, underplayed or otherwise has hidden potential... something that has rarely been done (or done right)
I always strive to build decks that are the best versions of themselves, no exceptions. If the deck is Gonk Druid, the other 29 cards are dedicated to make the deck win as often as possible, while still giving the star card a role. I never play with bad cards unless they're part of the gimmick; the fun lies in the challenge of making the existing oddity successful
Sometimes I take successful "shells" from existing decks to support my idea but I don't really netdeck. I learn what makes those decks good and take what I need to ensure each card added has a purpose in the new deck
And of course, adapting a deck to the meta (be it with techs, speed adjustments, etc) is an important part of making it competitive. In fact, sometimes the gimmick itself is thought up because it counters the meta in an interesting way
Nintendo had a pretty killer presentation this year. I'm personally really excited for Cadence of Hyrule and Mario Maker 2 since they are so close, but there's lots of cool stuff to look forward to over the next year.

Would you stay on a site after;
-It announced it was going to shut down out of nowhere
- flux was interested to buy the site but he couldn't because it was a shutdown.
- after a few weeks the site randomly sold anyway to another company.
If I had build a new site and moved in from all the drama, I wouldn't come back to hearhpwn but stayed here at outofcards.

Btw, I must be missing something, but I don't see anything wrong with this:
I mean, if you guys thought the place was shutting down, what's wrong with setting it as a permanent post?
