No, it's shuffled back into the deck and you have to recover it to benefit. You pay a little now at a tempo loss for a tempo gain later. That's how these cards work. Messing with the cost (which would be weird as hell and prohibitive) would essentially be deleting the cards.
Taverns of Time was nothing more than a fun event centered around Toki. And I don't remember specific cards made for Brawl. I do remember special event cards for Arena. While some of those cards may have been tests for ideas later used in future sets, I think you're reading into it a little too much. I mean the effect from playing Possibility Seeker became Plot Twist, however, the RoS cards would have been in very early development still when the Taverns event happened. See what I mean? Hinting at future cards: maybe not. Using them later as inspiration: definitely.
Also, your Mage example seems a little weak. Mage has almost always been more about tempo and spells. But when your strongest win condition is [Hearthstone Card (Frostlich Jaina) Not Found] you have to find a way to survive until the late game and that's what Big Spell Mage did. That and it paired well with [Hearthstone Card (Dragoncaller Allana) Not Found]. Clear out aggro boards until they run out of steam or until you can play your DK, start making Water Elementals and get to Lifestealing the crap out of your opponent's minions and face.
I will say that I was just thinking yesterday about the Fire Festival we've had for two consecutive years now in Hearthstone. It started last year right after the Taverns event. I guess the free legendary is the extra rewards this time instead of extra gold and free dust. But I do hope we see a double gold event again for the Fire Festival this year! Maybe a special legendary quest or two as well.
The fact that no one is using it should tell you something.
I use Prelate, but not for the actual buffed Prelate. Instead I play it for the deathrattle to add it to Da Undatakah along with things like Mechano-Egg or Mechanical Whelp. It was better before the nerfs as it could ramp up and beat Warriors with one minion that would die and spawn an army of 8/8 dino mechs after playing it a few times, while also going back into my deck so you could refill again later. The buffed Prelate was bonus!
With the rise of other decks and a little less Warrior lately it is a little slow in the meta. But still a ton of fun!
Prep is still the crème de la crème Rogue card, since so many Rogue cards are built around it. It's not necessary, especially if you're going for the tempo version. One thing I will say about Pogo Rogue is that like Deathrattle Hunter, it's really only favoured against heavy control matches like Giants Cyclone Mage, Control Shaman or Warrior.
Yeah, it ruins the resummon pool. However, a F2P player like myself that doesn't have Kangor's can use Snip Snap because it sort of acts like burst damage in a deck with no reach.
Many of the current permanent buff cards are midrange in nature. You need an upside for tailoring the playstyle a certain way sometime. If you up the cost of those buffed minions you become that much more worse against any control deck with actual removal because you also lose the ability to reload the board/apply pressure as midrange more effectively than at the minions' initial cost.
Wow i don't know we can play co-op in Hearthstone.. Wish we have more like this, really like this brawl...!!!
There were a couple other co-op brawls but they all follow a similar pattern. We've battled Mechazod together a few times, and a few New Year's brawls were co-op as well. Again, similar styles between those and this one. Just different bosses and different effects from the bosses, different cards in our decks to combat the boss, etc
so it works with a friend and i get the pack? didnt know that, thanks
You can always get the free pack from playing Brawl against friends and winning. Not just with this one. In fact if you had two accounts and devices you could play this co-op brawl in solo mode
Would not having Jepetto hurt do you think? There are some expensive cards in there so might require a bit of tweaking to remove him. Been running similar stuff recently anyway so I know how good mutate can be when you land it on giggling especially. Tirion and 2 x annoy o's for 7 mana is pretty sweet.
Also he is right about not neding many activators for the murloc generator. I tend to run amalgam as well though for the 2nd activator, but then I am running mechs as well in my deck that is closest to this (I run mechs in most things at the minute as magnetize is just so strong)
Yes! The idea is to have them much more integrated into the site - being free of the restrictions of Hearthpwn means we could create a better submissions system which allows entries to be viewed and voted upon more equally, for example.
We're still finishing up the final Season of the WCDC on Hearthpwn, and I don't have any sort of timeline for when the new system here will be up and running - there's obviously a whole slew of features we're looking to get added here, but more come every day! We just recently got an updated Card Back Gallery, and I know updated card images are being worked on right now.
So yes, WCDCs will continue! It'll just take us a bit before we get there.
My username here is the same username I use on HearthPwn. I used it for another site, and when I joined HearthPwn, I was too lazy to try to think of a different username, so I just used the same one. I think I might have been trying to be too edgy or something.
I thought demons are cool (this is before I started playing Hearthstone), and the letters x and z are cool letters, and I like the number 95, and that somehow comes together. There really isn't much significance to it at all. 1995 isn't even my birth year, you're off by 4 years.
My GT Is Nurgles Socks. (which is a name I created especially for Hearthstone, but is now my name in WoW and D3 and stuff as well as they all share 1 name. I typically choose a different name on each platform, so I'm something else on steam and then something else on Xbox live and again for PSN)
I just go by the name "Nurgz" mostly though for short. (at least in WoW where I actually have friends anyway)
The name basically came about because Nurgle is the God of Pestilence in Warhammer, so it's pretty filthy. Now there was this TV show in the UK called "The Young Ones" from the 70's and there's this bit where the character "Vivian" has sentient socks because they are that dirty. They basically come to life and start to terrorize the other house-mates in the show.
So I came up with the idea for a character that was basically the God Nurgles Socks that in the same vein as Vivian's Socks, had became sentient and were playing Hearthstone. So the idea is that if you are playing against me, you're actually playing against a sentient pair of socks once owned by the God of pestilence.
My nickname “Siggy” was created 28 years ago when friends wanted to shorten my real name Siegfried and I didn't like anything they came up with so I made my own nickname Siggy. A few years ago I officially changed my real name from “Siegfried J.B.” to “Siegfried Siggy”.
I hope this isn't just me - but the biggest reason I kept coming back to Hearthpwn was definitely the Card Creation Competitions. Are you guys planning to have those again? I could even help out, if you need. I loved those!
Also if anyone wanted a bomb hunter, this list is working for me. I'm rating Upgradeable Framebot a lot in this deck, it's great at getting something to stick for Magnetize. I might end up adding a Mossy Horror though over the Necro as a sure-fire way to set off Flark's bomb's. I Just crafted Flark for the list so I've not gotten to use him a lot yet. One thing I am thinking is if you have used a lot of your magnetic mechs already, the bombs might just be dead on the board. I know people were cutting him before, but I just wanted to go all out on the bombs and thought with SN1P-SN4P that's extra ways to make the bombs active. I do reckon a Mossy Horror could be great though as it's only 1 mana more than Flark, so could be played the next turn.
If you could combo necro, flark and mossy though, that would be sweet. I'm just not sure right now what to take out for mossy. I like all the stuff how it is.
Hey - New to Hearthstone but picked up this deck, kinda...
Missing a few cards but swapping in a few other low cost minions that death rattle or have some form of synergy - another Harvest Golem and a Sn1p-Sn4p for example.
Works well - feels like i can control games more already and my win % has gone up by around 20%...
Should permanent buffs (Dire Frenzy, Immortal Prelate) include a cost increase?

Card Creation Competitions
It isn't just you. It's me too. The competitions were basically the only reason I stayed on HearthPwn, as well as reveal season.
Competitions here will be a thing, but the mod team is making sure the essentials are there and running first.
Card Creation Competitions
