Okay, so this definitely isn't a new idea but I'm on leave of absence and I got bored so I thought I'd make this. Literally took me one day so there's probably a mistake somewhere and I am happy to discuss any changes you guys think about in the comments of the thread. Some of this is inspired by discussions I had with some of you in the comments of the Core Set predictions article yesterday, thank you for your thoughts, they were really helpful!

Just a note, there are 45 Neutrals split up as 20C, 8R, 7E and 10L. Each of the ten classes has 19 cards split up as 10B, 3C, 3R, 2E and 1L. In total, this comes to 235 cards which is the amount the actual core set is due to have. This is in no way intended to be a prediction of the actual core set. This is because I don't actually like Shadowform, and there are other Hall of Fame cards I would like to see return which it has been confirmed, won't be the case.

This is more a case of what I would personally like to see in the core set. The set is almost entirely comprised of current basic and classic cards as well as rotated cards. The only cards I have created myself are 2 Rogue Secrets and 1 Rogue Secret synergy card. I have done this primarily because I couldn't be arsed making a load of new cards but also because the old sets seem to have most of what I would like to see anyway.

Deck recipes from the Darkmoon Faire expansion make up half of Whizbang the Wonderful his deckpool.

I personally use this so that I can easily go to the HSreplay page and check out the 'kept' percentage for mulligan.

So I'm just gonna list a number of cards I was wrong about and I want everyone to leave a comment with their own.

Legends of Runterra is a sufficiently complicated game to get your calls right 100 percent of the time

I thought this card was total trash boy was I wrong.

8 spell mana isn't that hard to hit in a ramp list.

If you run at least ten - 8 plus cards it will cycle or draw 2 usually.

and it let's you hit enlightened at burst speed so in the right deck it's practically a combat trick

We'll broaden this out to veteran investigator as well

Logic would dictate that playing a card to draw your opponent cards puts you behind on advantage

But it turns out in specific lists this can be used as an advantage

Shrooms is the popular meme way right now, but I think that it also has real potential in deep.

After all, once you hit deep and have nautiuls you can just empty your hand and your opponent can't

This one's cheating because he got a sneaky buff in the last patch

But this is a legit card now.

Pure value on cards like zed, or elusives, or anything that spawns 2 bodies

I am not counting, but my Forum Title and Profile Header disappeared many times. From time to time, I notice that they are blank and I have to set them again, I did it at least 10 times already. Is this something intentional or something you know about? Are they reset every time you add some of these?

I saw a post with a similar topic for another card game, and I think it would be fun to do a similar thing for Hearthstone on the forum.  I will start, let’s put a card you underestimated and one you overestimated from expansion reveals as compared to how it actually played out in the meta.  If you only have a card in one of these categories just post that one.

Underestimated:

I thought it was going to be way too slow to see play and that you would often lose to aggro before having a chance to play it but it actually saw play in a lot of control shamans and was considered a powerful card.

Overestimated:

I thought it was going to be a powerful late game card in deathrattle decks, copying 3 deathrattles and having a large impact.  But it turned out to barely see play in the meta, it is only used in fun and meme level decks but not in any meta decks.

Which cards did you underestimate and overestimate and what was your reasoning at the time?

Which mode makes you spend more time in 'XP mode'?

For ranked you are not getting XP whilst queuing into your opponent. And if you play an aggro deck, you might spend just 5 minutes in a match.

For battlegrounds, do you get XP at Bob's? And on the battleground? Because they last longer (takes a while for you to die, no matter how bad you are), does that make them a better XP/min spent at the game?

Know any deck tracker for mobile (Android) for hearthstone?

HS Replay's Arcane Tracker apparently breaks Google's TOS, so it got removed. HS is much harder to play without deck tracking lol.

I made this deck, i think i found it somewhere before and recreated it. Anyway, i need to reliably have Karma on or before turn 9 so winters breath can clear the board, but i don't know what to remove for the card that can help with that. Yes i have feel the rush, but if i don't have it by turn 9, i'm basicly screwed. Cause the deck goes "stall till turn 10. then OTK" help with trimming the fat please

I find myself getting rushed a lot more often. Especially from Riven / Lee Sin

Out of 40 Cards I had 3 that cost 6 and above. Am I the only one have a problem with the resurgence of the burn? Lee sin leveled with overwhelm is basically death unless you have a silence.

Legends is actually a very balanced game in terms of play rates and win rates

Like if you still want to pilot Soraka, I bet you could hit a 54 percent winrate and rank up just fine.

It's all down to the player, and that's what makes this game so great.

Some of you might remember me (good), some might not (probably better). About half a year ago I decided to quit the game for good for various reasons (the main one being the unchanging frustration about the meta always being worse than expected. Fuck Demon Hunter, all my homies hate Demon Hunter) and while it was one of the best decisions I had made in a long time, reading about the upcoming Core Set really caught my interest again. Basically I'm too curious to see how that will turn out to not make the smarter decision of just ignoring it.

However, since I quit before thee Tavern Pass was introduced I have literally no idea how the HS f2p economy is nowadays. I know that the Pass was pretty dogshit when it first came out and it resulted in a number of changes. Did these changes actually fix the problems? Or more specifically: Are you still able to accquire the same amount of gold (roughly) in between expansions for the same amount of playtime.

I remember my personal highscore being over 10k gold saved up. Is that possible in the current system without spending absurd amounts of time? Is there an overall gold average that casual players can report?

I really don#t care about catching up with the current expansion since I have at least 2k gold still lying around and more dust than I need, but I really want to know how long it would take to, say, farm 5k gold?

Howdy, I'm Taka. Been playing MtG since Lorwyn, YGO for a little bit longer, League since Xin Zhao's release, and Legends of Runeterra for about three days. I know I have a lot of room to get better at any of these games, but I believe my observations here still apply based on my previous experience in other games.

Anyhow, let's talk Shadow Isles, or the equivalent of MtG's Black if it decided to take steroids and throw any sense of opportunity cost out the window. Last breath, death bonuses, sacrificial combat tricks, hard removal, a hard sweeper, a fling, good aggro with Fearsome, drain on removal, and, probably the most annoying currently, Go Hard that turns into a one-sided sweeper and win-con. Not saying it doesnt have answers: Im sure it does. But it is overloaded with so much good stuff right now.

As for Elusive, this is more of an issue with the lack of answers available and how much value certain units with Elusive have. Sure, it is the equivalent of MtG's Flying, but at least Flying in MtG is either available to every color or can at least be answered by those where it isnt. Most of Noxus removal does nothing without an ally on board or without the elusive unit in question already being damaged, and Freljord has Frostbite which is less of answer and more of a stall tactic.

Apologies if this is inappropriate or unfounded; just been having a lot of frustration dealing with these two aspects of this game.

Quick backstory:

I've been playing since Naxxramas, and used to reach Rank 3 before the ladder revamp. I've made it to Diamond 4 a couple times (where I am now). I'm feeling pretty good about my chances for a first time Legend this month. I got to Diamond mostly playing Ramp Paladin, then switched to this greedy control warlock and have been doing well and having fun. I teach high school, and have vacation coming up next week, so more time to grind. I would love some support from this awesome community.

I tend to beat aggro either by a landslide when I get my good early game stuff and draw lots of Soul Fragments, or by a super thin margin, which is very exciting. I hold up well against most control decks. Ramp Paladin with Alura on curve kills me every time, but what can you do.
