Has anybody gotten any extra copies of Champions they already own three of yet? I'm THINKING they might have a similar system to HS where you don't pull a Legendary card you don't need, but I don't have any hard evidence for that.
...And just for laughs, how many shards are extra champions worth?

After many turns of my Shadow Isles control vs that 4000 IQ Heimerdinger deck thats showing up everywhere we hit the decisive finish, He had 1 HP on nexus I had 3. I swung with my 2 minions that if unblocked would do 10 damage. He had 2 minions to block but instead of blocking he played Get Excited targeting my nexus. I swiftly played Vile Feast in hopes that I could survive with one HP, but of course he had a mystic shot available as well. Then instead of putting up blockers he hit OK and everything went off. My 2 minions struck his nexus leaving him at -9 HP and his mystic shot brought me past the threshold to -1. But when the flashing colors were over it told me I lost, and I assumed it showed him victory.
We both dropped below 0, him even more so that I did. Why the hell did I lose?

Pretty simple to play just do the most optimal thing you can has lots of card draw for a highlander decks so you can likely burn through most people even the druids pretty often.

I started playing this game in late November 2017. Before that, I played Shadowverse, which also featured the rush mechanic - same name and functionality - which was infamous for some decks having a 'remove everything' policy. One reason I found Hearthstone interesting and eventually stopped playing Shadowverse is that this game isn't based around having unpreventable damage from hand, whether that means damage to creatures or damage to face. Being able to actually establish a board, yet not automatically because you've done that, made the game much more appealing to me. It felt more like MTG.
Since being introduced as a keyword in Witchwood, there are currently 64 cards which either have rush, can gain rush or interact with rush some way. Not all of these are viable, I know, but a quick read through the list suggests about 30 are viable or have been viable at some point. Simply put, the mechanic feels too widely distributed and makes the game into a fight of whoever can make their rush creature stick after playing and swinging with it. I have no issue with any deck archetype - except for the extremely non-interactive Quest Priest, which ironically lacks rush creatures - but I'm playing games now with a Highlander Hunter deck which is just turn after turn of slamming rush minions into each other. I suspect that the old coin Chillwind Yeti play wouldn't be viable now because it would just get removed instantly instead of trading.
I've probably written this post poorly but I hope it gets my point across.

normal (named as story now) is laughably easy and heroic which is challenge mode is like normal difficulty..
there should be story(unlocks cards) normal(deck building) and heroic (ACTUALLY HARD!!!).
chapter 3 looked promising, a deathrattle deck that can pop them for 1 mana.. that's really challenging right? wrong! he trigger your deathrattles too so it's easy, the moment you gain board control you win.
A Skruk that buffs all his deck and board and hand by +1/+1 every turn for 1 mana.. 50% of his deck are weapons, the other half useless kobolds..
And 2 identical fights that are quite just ok, not hard enough though.
On the evil side it was a pure joke, heroic could be called easy mode for what it's worth...
The first one all his deck are dragons so dragon slayer and dragonmaw poacher make him a joke, the second one is the only one that made me make a custom deck(patron warrior) and is identical to the explorers so I am just annoyed it's the same fight, not even a twist.
and the dragons? it's a joke right? stall 10 turns.. just pick mage and freeze the board every turn.. not even close..
I don't know why they made them so easy... I remember trying again and again and again on BRM,naxx and frozen throne(only lich king, really) and having hard time trying to beat the bosses with many many tries.. this is a breeze.
and what annoys me is that it's obvious they made them easier.. cause they could make the dragon boss only trigger his on DRs they could made the dragon hunter actually having a functional deck (I passed for 5 turns doing NOTHING.. and still won), and the ships.. at least have ANY difference between the fights.. add some cannons only eudora has and cannons only the wanderer has..

Hey all,
I just finished the 3rd chapter of Galakrond's awakening and came across a funny mistake in the german localization that I would like to share (needless to say this contains spoilers about said chapter). Among the auto-attack cannons there is one card called Missile Pod. If you play the game in german you will find that this specific card has its name and card text in italian. An interesting implication of this: If you play the "Trigger all auto-attacks" card, Missile Pod won't trigger. My guess is, the game looks for the string "Automatischer Angriff" but only finds "attacco automatico".
In what language are you playing hearthstone and are there other weird/funny language related moments you came across?

Hey, guys! Long time, no write.
So a few days ago, when the purple patch landed, user u/diamadjinn posted this photo on reddit:

This is a screenshot of a few unreleased cards that djinn found in crafting mode on iOS. And I know what you're thinking: "Those are fake!". However, one of the devs actually responded to the post:
Now, if you look at the cards, quite a number of them reference agriculture in some way. This also makes sense from a story perspective:
I don't know about you, but I'm really hyped for this.

As I understand it, the weekly cap on wildcard purchases is intended to keep people from collecting all the cards too quickly, and the developers hope this will keep the meta from getting stale too quickly. I guess I'm wondering what their definition of "too quickly" is.
There are 24 Champions in the game, and you can have 3 copies of each, so 24 x 3 = 72 is the maximum number of Champ cards you can collect at this time.
If I spent all my wildcards and shards after only three vault openings, I would now have over 40 Champion cards. I am confident that I could easily collect all 72 by the end of the first month. Someone more dedicated than me could have them all a bit sooner by grinding every region with Expedition XP. (I've only completed one region, but I'm very close to finishing my second.)
I've heard several streamers expressing frustration at having to wait to craft a wider variety of decks. My question is: Is the throttle really working as intended?
It seems like it's making paying players unhappy in the short term, while not really slowing things down all that much when you consider the bigger picture. After all, this game is surely going to last a while, and it could be many months before we see an expansion.
Furthermore, once that expansion does arrive, people will easily be able to acquire most of it immediately with saved resources. (I've seen no indication that the current resources won't work on future content.)
It all sounded like a good idea on paper, but I'm not sure the result (a month or less before whales have a full set) is worth the frustration -- especially when the people you are frustrating are the only ones actually giving you money.

How does this card work exactly?
Does the detained card retain buffs or damage for example, or is it like the recall mechanic and it reverts to its original state?
Does the detained card get placed back to its original location (bench or battlefield) once the capturing unit leaves play? I'm assuming it gets placed back in the hand if the bench or battlefield is full, and burned if the hand is full.

Perhaps a bit weird to be commenting on this now, as for all we know the next two weeks will send some of these cards I want to talk about back into relevance... not likely, as I'm not seeing any real synergy here (you could say Shotbot bringing Mech Paladin back into relevance, but that already happened without him!) , but we shall see.
So, in a couple of months, it's that time of year again, Hearthstone rotation season. Witchwood, Boomsday Project, and Rastakhan's Rumble are all leaving standard play, unless Adventure Sets being part of Standard mucks things up a bit in ways I've forgotten. I remember getting confused about what was rotating after Kraken, but maybe they were still settling into this whole Standard format back then.
ANYWAYS, I'm 95% sure this is what's rotating, so my post will be based off of that premise. Cool? Cool.
You know the main thing that got me thinking about rotation, and made me want to write down my thoughts about this? At the time, I couldn't think of a SINGLE card from the Witchwood expansion that sees any play today.
Eventually, they started to trickle in. Town Crier. Lifedrinker. Hench-Clan Thug, on and off, I don't believe it's currently being played, but I do believe it was in and out of Rogue decks while the Descent of Dragons meta was settling. I guess Lord Godfrey is part of the current control Warlock build, and maybe this is just a recent thing, but when's the last time you've seen a Lord Godfrey played on you in Standard? It's been a while on my end!
I'm not saying there isn't more, but that's all that's coming to mind. Considering we once lived in a world where the dastardly Shudderwocky terrorized the meta alongside the EVIL Hagatha, two cards that single-handedly carried the Shaman class (and it wasn't uncommon to see them run together, although both cards could create very different archtypes if one so choosed) it's honestly strange to think about how that's the biggest difference we'd see in the meta if Witchwood rotated tomorrow. I think everybody would agree me with me on this, that in early 2020, the Keyword Rush that the Witchwood introduced is now a lot more impactful than the Witchwood expansion itself.
Perhaps I wouldn't be saying this if Baku the Mooneater never went to HoF (I'm in the camp of believing Even decks were still about to die with all the great tools for Evenlock and Even Paladin rotating last year, but the world will never know) but we live in this world as it is.
Onto the Boomsday Project. Zilliax is certainly an impactful card that a lot of decks utilized. SN1P SN4P is another card seen in many decks, and it's also an interesting case in that it's a card that was free for most players (not saying nobody had to craft him, don't get snippy), cards like Wargear are carrying Mech Paladin in the fight against Embiggen Druid, Boommaster Flark seems to have finally found his niche as a part of Quest Hunter, and Stargazer Luna and the Pocket Galaxy are two of the legendaries pulling the Highlander Mage deck together for potential highrolling.
...But wait, aren't I forgetting a few things? Surely I am. What about the dreaded control Warrior deck from back in the day? What about tools like Dyn-O-matic, Omega Devastator, Warpath (yes, I know that's a Witchwood card), Supercollider, the big bad Dr. Boom himself?
Yeah, none of that stuff gets run anymore, Warrior found better stuff to put in.
I'm editing in Mecha'thun, because... I honestly forgot Mecha'thun decks even existed when I was writing this up.
BUT WHAT ABOUT RASTAKHAN'S... okay, you already know where this is going, don't you?
Rastakhan's Rumble is easily the most forgettable set of all the ones we're talking about today. Halazzi helps out with Quest Hunter. He's replaceable Hench-Clan Hogsteed was a fantastic card on launch, but it's usage has dwindled considerably, and I don't believe anything that isn't Quest Hunter wants to run it right now. Holy Wrath came and went in the meta whenever it worked, and it's not working anymore. Part of the Dragon package introduced in Rastakhan (Firetree Witchdoctor, Crowd Roaster, Emberscale Drake) was being played around with for a bit, but as far as I know, all of that's been dropped now. Jan'alai the Dragonhawk used to be a fantastic card that had such a presence in Mage decks, BEAST MAGE was a thing for a bit, using cards like Untamed Beastmaster to buff your Jan'alai, Black Cat, and other such things with really good Mage cards that just so happened to be Beasts.
And now that entire package is dead.
Akali the Rhino, Oondasta, big rush minions were a thing at one point back when we were in a combo meta and everybody wanted to smash it before their combo happened. (Sidenote: Holy crap, remember when Amani War Bear surprised everyone and ended up being GOOD? Yeah...)
Now we aren't in a combo meta anymore. Which is also why Mojomaster Zihi fell out of favor, she's not really worth much when we aren't in a combo meta.
So, is there a point to any of this? How Big Bad Blizzard scammed us all through powercreep, rendering our previous OP cards completely worthless in a Descent of Dragons meta, forcing us to buy the shiny new cards as the old ones that used to rule the roost were slowly but surely forced out of the metagame?
No, not really. It's just weird to think about, to me. Three expansions, all of which used to have some extremely powerful cards that dominated or played a significant part in the metagame at some point, and I can think of so few, if any cards that I'm actually going to miss vanishing from the metagame. I'm not saying the rotation won't have any impact and won't change the meta at all (Mech Paladin is in a REALLY bad place now, for example) a rotation is on it's way, and yet? For me personally, it really doesn't feel that way, at all. I wouldn't call this a bold prediction to say that this set rotation will probably be the least meaningful one in Hearthstone's history. Compare that to Infinite Value Death Knights rotating out last year, and it's such a bizarre shift in the landscape to me, that we live in a world where cards like Dr. Boom, Mad Genius, Hagatha the Witch, the SHUDDERWOCKY FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, and a 7 mana 4/4 that summons Ragnaros the Firelord with him are in the current format, and don't see any play.
I've said my piece, now I'll open it up to you guys, any thoughts?
And before anyone says it, yes, cards stagnate and phase out of the meta, that's how card games work, that's going to happen.
I challenge anyone to argue that there was ever a time in Hearthstone history where it happened more than the Year of the Dragon.

I heard a rumor a while ago when the first wing came out that you could get the exclusive cards as arena rewards instead. And personally i don't play arena, but i would rather play arena and randomly get a chance to get these cards, even if it's low, than pay money for something i would only end up playing once and never touch again...i don't know why people like this format of locking cards away like this...

Hey guys,
Can someone please explain to me how exactly wild cards reset each week?
Is it only in the store, or also your collection?
Like if I have 14 common wild cards, so on Tuesday I will lose the ones I didn't used? Or I could use them in future?

1st trial: 0-2, 2nd trial 1-2. I did go 7 wins on my 2nd trial last week so I know I'm not a total n00b... That might have been what did it, actually--in that trial my deck was a Frejlord value deck and a lot of my success came from Yetis and +1/+1s and Anivia; I think I tried to force a repeat of that strategy. And this week, some of the decks I fought were just brutal including a Shadow Isles that went off on The Undying and a Noxus deck that played 4 Legion Saboteur over the first 5 turns.
On the bright side, I am glad to see the format at least supports multiple different strategies. I guess I'm just venting. :-P

Apparently burgle cards include unreleased ones in the database. Gotta say, I rather liked him for a first impression. The battlecry, in particular, feels very strong, but it's the hero power that will keep things interesting. The match ended shortly afterwards, but still, it was a nice glimpse.
