[RANT] Skelesaurus Hex should be deleted from the game

Remember this motherfucker? Skelesaurus Hex was a boss in the original LoE adventure from 2015. Its heroic Hero Power is "Add a random card to your hand. It costs (0)". Yes, you read that right. IT COSTS FUCKING 0. LoE in general had a lot of bullshit bosses (Scarvash, Slitherspear, ...) but this motherfucker is by far the worst.

You thought the Reno fight from the new adventure was bad because of the RNG. Wait until your get a FUCKING Kalecgos casting a FUCKING Power of Creation into Sunwalkers on TURN FUCKING 1. It took me several years to beat some bullshit adventure bosses, but those bosses generally become less bullshit over time thanks to new cards (I only recently beat Slitherspear with the Launcher+Venomizer combo).

But this motherfucker Skelesaurus Hex is different. Because of power creep, he becomes LESS doable over time because his Hero Power becomes more and more powerful. And that's the thing. The boss is not fun because, unlike all other bosses, there is no strategy against him. You just have to click Restart until you finally hit the 1/1000 case when he only gets useless crap from his Hero Power. Thas was even worse in 2015 because there wasn't even a Restart option for solo content.

I cleared all seemingly undoable bosses from Galakrond's Awakening (Reno, Lazul, Galakrond itself, etc...) with the Juggler+Test Subject infinite damage combo. It took a few tries to get the combo, it obviously took even more time to execute it, but at the end of the day I cleared everything.

I tried this combo with with this mofo for several hours and guess what? I could never survive until I get the full combo. Just when you think you can finally execute it, he pulls an Obsidian Statue out of his ass which obviously ruins everything because every minion needs to survive until the end and the Statue will inevitably kill one. Most of the time he kills me before turn 5 though.

Blizzard please. Delete this fucking boss from the game and give me my LoE Heroic card back I've been working for for 5 fucking years.

  • obviously if the strategy you were trying didn't work the first handful of tries, its not going to work the next few hours you do it. This rant is you complaining you can't beat a boss with a deck that is bad against it, even though you are capable of trying other decks. You also are probably the first person to ever complain about this boss.

  • you're talking about the same people who thought the Amazing Reno would be a great idea for a boss fight. In fact, they loved it so much they even RIGGED his hero power to give him better results on average.

     

    Also, try a better deck, OTK might not be the best idea...at least not the way you're going about it

  • Have you considered trying a deck that isn't actively bad against that boss? An OTK is pretty worthless if you're overrun before you assemble it. Go more aggressive, the most important part of bosses with unfair abilities, or heroic bosses in general, is to stem the bleeding and stabilise as quickly and efficiently as possible. 

  • There's plenty of stuff in Naxx that wouldn't let that combo work either. Just because a specific deck doesn't work in a format designed to ask you to build a deck for each encounter doesn't mean the encounter is broken.

  • alternatively, why not play grizzled wizard and finley combo? his deck is pretty garbage on its own, but if youre not willing to try then why bother?

      Grizzled Wizard doesn't work on adventure bosses.

        I figured this out when I was trying to beat emperor thaurissan on heroic mode. I was very dissapointed.

  • Also to the OP: Fucking swearing every fucking five fucking seconds makes it really fucking hard to fucking take you fucking seriously. I would recommend blowing steam in the venting thread, or maybe to a friend in Discord. Coming in here and swearing like a sailor isn't going to make your plight very sympathetic.

  • I think at this point there's more than enough general strategies from the net that the only legitimate gripe is not having the cards to defeat heroic bosses as efficiently as possible. If I'm not mistaken, this boss doesn't do very well against mill rogue

    In any case, its a heroic boss, means the frustration of loss is at least confined within the restart button, unlike losing to an OP boss from a dungeon run. So your very unfortunately Kelecgos event is just a one-off, not a definite encounter. Just restart until you get the perfect hand, that works too.

  • I've been trying to beat this boss for 5 years. I've tried with a lot of different decks (including mill rogue) and never succeeded because it always pulls some bullshit just when I think I got him.

    Yes, heroic bosses are difficult, it's normal to try several times, but Skelesaurus Hex is beyond just "difficult" because 1) it is a pure RNG fight and 2) it is RNG heavily rigged against the player so there's no other way to beat him other than being lucky. It's not hard, it's just frustrating.
