A new update has been deployed to the site.

New Features

• Patches!
  • We've added in support for public pages on Hearthstone patches.
  • There isn't a way to access them yet on the nav because we're working to fill out patch note data still.
  • You can find them at /hearthstone/patches/
  • Thanks to Chimera for finalizing all our card changes by patch. These display both on patch pages (example) and on card pages like Archivist Elysiana.
• Sticky Threads
  • We now finally support stickies on the forums!
  • We're taking a slightly different approach with them - stickies show up at the top of every forum page in a particular category.
• Support the Site
  • Added a box on the homepage to the bottom of the sidebar for easy access to different ways you can support the site, letting us remain free of ads. <3

Changes

• Profiles have received a very basic overhaul to support "pages" of profile content. More to come.
• Locked threads no longer appear in recent, active, and new thread listings.

Bug Fixes

• Members who have filled out their bio field in their account management can now see their bio on their profile page.
• Mobile users now have links to account management, sign out, and profile in the nav. This looks absolutely horrible and we'll fix it when the whole top bar gets redone. Sooner rather than later.

Any plans for Inkeeper to work on this site?

Welcome to the first MTG thread! I figured i would ask everyone what sort of Magic gave you when you began playing it. I had not played magic up until a couple months ago when i decided to give MTG:A a shot. I figure i am not the only one who has played a lot of Hearthstone but little Magic (but if i am that is ok too), but perhaps veteran players would be interested in sharing their thoughts from the past as well.

Overall i think it's pretty fun, although the deck building is much different than i am used to. The resource mechanic of lands is also quite interesting, although it can add a level of frustration if you don't actually draw enough. There are many more complex dynamics to the turn structure and how cards can interact and i think that is pretty cool. I enjoyed what i played, although sometimes it took me a while to comprehend how or why some things happened. It's interesting to observe the similarities and differences between this and hearthstone, which i have played abundantly.

The digital version is great because i don't think i could really get too into the physical version so i could finally introduce myself to this game i always here so much about. I learned a lot over several hours of playing and i definitely see what the fuss is about. It's not something i play a lot of right now, but i am dabbling and figuring out what's strong and what isn't. I seem to prefer green or black decks off the bat, green in particular because it's much easier to get lands on the field.

In terms of flavor the art and themes are great along with the flavour text. That said, i think i still prefer hearthstone in that regard simply because i can relate more to the lore and can enjoy that aspect much more. I'd also say blizzard executes the voice lines and animations better but it is definitely a different type of atmosphere so i don't expect that to be comparable, just preference. I also don't have a huge knowledge of all the different magic sets and what sort of themes they encompass, i should probably check that out one day. I'll continue playing here and there and maybe i'll get hooked on it one day, who knows, but it's definitely a good game. Hard for me to commit to too many games at once though.

What was your first experience with MTG like?

One of of the features that I personally loved about Hearthpwn is the notification system that announced when the thread you're subscribed to have updated or when someone has answered your PM. Is there something similar like that coming to this site? If not, I'd like for it to be since it is really hard to find the thread you want to see if the site continue to grow.

This guy https://outof.cards/members/pcjco posted over 100 decks on ONE DAY and all of them DO NOT HAVE A F***ING GUIDE.

I hated this so much on hearthpwn, just spamming decks and the endless number of dupe decks without any description.

PLEASE prevent this early enough, it's easy to identify 100% identical decks. Stop the dupe decks and remove decks that have no description / guide.

Quality > Quantity

Edit: Just saw that the decks this guy posted are deck recipes, but still, the message keeps the same.
No description is a no go, maybe just collect them in a single forums post.

Here is another guy https://outof.cards/members/octrange with 12 decks on the same day. No descriptions, no guides. Just delete them, please.

You can see how the database is already blown up with such spam:

Decks with guides: https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decks/?has_guide=2 - 12 pages

Decks with no guides https://outof.cards/hearthstone/decks/?page=31&has_guide=3 - 31 pages

I believe it's not indended. Minor issue.

Hiya - apologies if I am jumping the gun here and it's already being sorted.
I went to click on my thread about MTG:Arena, (which looks like it's been moved to the Magic General section) - but I don't appear to have access to it?
(I get a 403 Access Denied).

It's possible that it's still being configured and I'm just too quick of course, lol.
Just wondered if I needed to do anything to access that part. :-)

I have a busy unpredictable schedule, and most times I don't get that 20 minute stretch with no interruptions I'd like for a game. With Innkeeper I can go at my own pace, not worry about roping, and test new deck ideas. Expert Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior are good aggro tests that can indicate if my deck's solid.

Yes I could try Casual more, but my interruptions (kids, especially) will mess up my focus.

In the presumably short and small - that's what sh-... no... - absence of a dedicated section for MtG Arena players and lovers in here, I am creating this thread as the go to place (for now) for your MtG needs.

If you want to grab a game against me and one of my half-baked, god-awful nooby decks, then feel free to see if I'm around and send me a challenge.
my Username is:

Scorpyon#47528

At the moment I am attempting to build some sort of weird and janky Amass based Black / White deck, and another silly discard Win-With-Jace blue deck. :-P

Come join me here and there. ;-)

Hello :D is there anyway to sort decks by mode it seems kinda hard to find wild decks?

Hi.

I tried to register my username wendeee, but OOC told me that the user exists. It must have existed since hearthstation i believe. However, i am getting this when i try to login:

Server Error (500)

I tried to reset password, but that did not help.

So i was thinking that maybe there is something wrong with the account, so i registered a new username Wende (i used the same email address as for the first one, which might be an issue). I got inside this afternoon, but this evening it is dead as the first one for me.

So i created this one (with another email address, just to be sure) in order to post about it here, it might be bug.

What i find curious is that i see both my accounts on the member page on top: http://imgbox.com/AuIUiHj9 and when you click on them, you get the 500 error again. It happens to me also for another members (JoKeR, Wei).

Thanks for looking into this.

I've come across something rather odd.
I am reporting it here, but will try and see if I can reproduce the issue on a regular basis if I can.
Ok, I actually just managed to do it. Often, if I use Shift+Space to go to the next line, I find that the space bar suddenly stops working (This seems to occur on the 3rd time I use the Shift+Space - so the third line).

Looking into this a bit further, it's fine if I use a standard carriage return (like to this paragraph). It also seems to be if I press Space Bar, BEFORE I start typing, it will jump me back to the previous line.
By no means game-breaking, but can be annoying.
Likethislinehere.ThethirdShift+Spaceperparagraphhasstoppedmyspacebarworking.

But if I do a normal return, the space bar works again.

Weird. :-)

Came here from HearthPwn, noticed a thing or two I'd figure I'd mention.
I know the website is still in Beta so maybe the below list is already on a todo list.
If so, maybe having that todo list as a stickied topic in this forum is an idea?

Anyways, my feedback so far:

• When I logged in, I ended up on the Register page. I created my account earlier today from a different computer, maybe that causes it? I was succesfully logged in though.

• For the card list, I'm really missing the option to visually see the cards. The cards themselves display all their information which makes them a very efficient means of showing a big list of cards. It's what I always used on HearthPwn and it feels easier to use than a flat list with only text.

• Missing a Standard filter in the card list is also quite big I think. I lacks years of cards to play Wild so only Standard cards are useful to me.

• Cost filter for Decks is something I'm missing as well. Decks that cost 15k+ dust are unlikely to be playable by me so I'd like to be able to filter them out.

• There is no way to see yet in which threads/topics you're active, only the ones you've created. Makes it a bit tricky to check for updates.

• There is little spacing between list items if you don't Shift+Enter between items, maybe add some spacing for readability?
• Because without it, it feels like the text can clutter up pretty quickly and become a big listed wall of text that's hard to read and separate from items that go over more than one line. Could just be me though. :P
• I only had this once on my other computer, but I was unable to use the Spacebar at the end of my text. I could use it if was between any text, but if I was just typing a line at the end, hitting Spacebar didn't do anything, like it was being trimmed out or something. Could be my Google Chrome as I'm using Firefox at the moment, I'll check when I get back on that computer.

Anyways, that's it for now, if I see anything else, I'll let you know!

Hi there,

Just came here from HearthPwn - RIP soon - and was wondering if we'd get some site achievements in here as well?
I mean, that is one of the many features that got me really hooked on HSpwn in 1st place.

Also, are we ever going to see the results of RoS community cards rating, compendiuum and all that jazz?

Thanks in advance

I'm playing Murloc Shaman. Just about every deck uses Soul of the Murloc x 2.

I'm debating if this card is really that great. Against Warrior, Warpath seems to make quick work of the extra murlocs.

Against other faster decks (Hunter, Zoo), I wonder if 2 smaller minions might be better.

Just curious what others think?

I want to sign in to my alt account but I can't find the logout button!

Who else is enjoying this new content?  I am trying to get check marks across the board!  So far finished it as the flame mage d00d except for the random bonkers deck.  I tried to work on heroic and omg it's hard haha.  That Gnome Rogue can beat me even though he is the first boss.  His combos can really add up.

Would be nice to not create multiple threads about the same thing :)

A question I have though: Are you implementing most functions that was available in Hearthpwn?
Functions I used a lot was:

• The filters in the deck search (to find unexpected wacky decks, mostly in wild)
• Collection of my cards (so I could see what cards I was missing in a deck)
• Favorite Decks
• The defunct search filter to search for a specific boss in adventures and such

Also if you need any help with SQL I will gladly do that since I work with it daily. :) Just send me a pm.

Great work so far though! Was worried hearthpwn would leave a hole in my hearth but this has a lot of promise!

Yay, new site! Hey everyone! I’m having issues with drop-down navigation and profile management on mobile. Is there a fix for this, or can I go to the full site on mobile?

Hi Flux and all the crew, I just switch from hrtpwn. Please change the color format of your site, please. White text over a dark backgroud really kill the eyes, I could not be able to visit the site if it stay this way. I already push my eyes over the limit just to create this.

Best of luck in any case.

hello fellow fatigue club members and leaders! (kappa) I think we really need this cool thread, also with hearthpwn's blacklist data!

Original thread on HearthPwn: https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/off-topic/general-chat/129874-game-name-another-card-that-has-the-same

The rules are simple: the user above you has a card, let's say it is Wisp. If they say (health), you must find a card that has the same health as Wisp does. If they say (attack), or (cost), you do the same, but for attack or cost respectively. You can also name a keyword or (part of) the effect, but try to only do this when there are cards with (a part of) the same effect, or else we'll get stuck. Also, for minions-weapons, health=durability.

So, now let's start with: Chillwind Yeti (attack)

Your task: find a card that has 4 attack.

I play in both but being able to turn this on and off sure is helpful to find a useful deck faster.  Thanks otherwise everything looks really good!

I noticed quite a few people are looking forward to try and make Pogo-Hopper work as soon as the buffs go live, so I created this thread to discuss our ideas for this deck. Here's my take on it:
